Amex Platinum offers for Aug. 25: Lufthansa $200, Peninsula hotels, and Delta's Amex Travel rule (2026)

A new Lufthansa Group flight credit and a Peninsula hotel offer are the clearest additions this week. The Delta $250 offer is still live, and a dated Frequent Miler write-up now locks the booking path to Amex Travel with a Sept. 3, 2026 payment deadline. U.S. Open cardholder lounges open with the main draw on Aug. 30. Several hotel and airline offers expire Aug. 30–31.

At the threshold, Lufthansa Group is 20% back on $1,000, Peninsula is 20% on $500, Delta is 12.5% on $2,000, and Best Western is 20% on $250. None of those rates is unlimited, and each requires the exact merchant path in the terms.

New and clarified this week

Lufthansa Group: $200 back after $1,000 on Amex Travel

Doctor of Credit and Traveling for Miles both dated the return of this offer Aug. 24, 2026.1 2

Earn a one-time $200 statement credit after $1,000 in one or more qualifying purchases of marketed flights on Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, or Discover Airlines, booked through AmexTravel.com or the Amex Travel app by Oct. 31, 2026. Flights must originate in the U.S. and be charged in USD. Direct airline bookings and other third-party sites do not qualify. ITA Airways and Eurowings are not listed as eligible.

Traveling for Miles reports the offer on consumer and Business Platinum cards in its own accounts, so Platinum holders should check for the tile and can stack Amex Travel earning (5x on eligible Platinum airfare, terms apply) when the booking path matches. Add the offer first, then pay with the same enrolled card.

Peninsula Hotels: $100 back after $500

One Mile at a Time published Aug. 21 a targeted offer for $100 after $500 in room rate and room charges at participating Peninsula hotels worldwide, for eligible purchases between Aug. 21 and Nov. 30, 2026.3 Book through peninsula.com; gift cards and third-party bookings are out. The post notes that hotel-billed Virtuoso, PenClub, and non-prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts stays are the usual paths that still post as the hotel merchant of record. A prepaid Amex FHR booking billed by Amex may not count.

A r/AmexPlatinum thread from Aug. 24 shows at least one Platinum cardholder saw a Peninsula tile; treat that as a visibility sighting, not proof that every account has it.4

Delta: booking path fixed to Amex Travel, expires Sept. 3

Last week’s Doctor of Credit report left a conflict between an Amex Travel headline and direct-Delta fine print. Frequent Miler’s Aug. 19 detail page settles the public terms for the current tile: $250 after $2,000 on Delta-marketed flights booked only through Amex Travel (AmexTravel.com, the Amex Travel app, or the number on the back of the card), with payment by Sept. 3, 2026.5 Travel can occur after the offer ends if you pay inside the window. Direct Delta bookings, other third-party sites, and flight + hotel packages are excluded. Platinum Member Airfares and Centurion Member Airfares on Amex Travel are included when they are Delta-marketed flights.

Frequent Miler says the offer looks targeted at Platinum and Centurion. Still read the live tile before spending $2,000; Amex can change personalized terms.

U.S. Open: Centurion Lounge on Resy, plus $10 after $100

The Points Guy (Aug. 22) and Doctor of Credit (Aug. 23) cover Amex’s 2026 tournament presence.6 7

Centurion Lounge at Louis Armstrong Stadium: same-day one-hour reservations on Resy, released from 9:30 a.m. ET each tournament day starting Aug. 30. Platinum: cardholder + one guest. Centurion: cardholder + up to three guests. Put the eligible card on file in Resy before the release time.
Amex Card Member Lounge: second level of the Amex Fan Experience; open to Amex cardmembers with up to two guests (first-come access rules as posted on site).

This is an event lounge and dining perk, not Global Lounge Collection airport access. If you hold grounds tickets for the main draw, set a Resy reminder the night before.

Membership Rewards transfer bonus still running

The 30% Amex Membership Rewards transfer bonus to British Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus Avios remains active through Sept. 27, 2026, per Going’s August transfer-bonus guide and Frequent Miler’s transfer tracker.8 9 That is 1,300 Avios per 1,000 MR. Transfer only when you already have award space and a plan to ticket; transfers are one-way.

No new Amex hotel-points transfer accelerator appeared in public trackers this week.

Deadline watch through Aug. 31

These are live or returning Amex Offers with near-term ends. Public detail pages for several predate this week, so treat them as deadline checks, not new launches.10

Air France / KLM: 20,000 MR after $1,000 — Aug. 30

Frequent Miler lists a targeted offer for 20,000 bonus Membership Rewards after $1,000 at airfrance.us or KLM.com by Aug. 30, 2026.11 Enrollment is required and capacity can fill. U.S.-origin flights charged in USD; call centers, packages, luggage, and many ancillary products are excluded. Confirm the tile on your Platinum before you enroll elsewhere.

Hotels.com prepaid: 10% back, max $100 — Aug. 31

Get 10% back as a statement credit on prepaid hotel bookings through the **hotels.com/amex** link, up to $100 total, by Aug. 31, 2026.12 Pay-now only; pay-at-property, phone bookings, gift cards, vacation rentals, and third-party cash-back extensions void the offer. Some accounts also see a separate 10x MR prepaid Hotels.com offer; stacking both is account-specific.

Best Western / SureStay: $50 after $250 — Aug. 31

Spend $250 on room rate and room charges at participating Best Western and SureStay hotels in the U.S. and Canada for a one-time $50 credit by Aug. 31, 2026.13 Book at bestwestern.com, the Best Western To Go app, or (800) 780-7234. Several named properties and WorldHotels are excluded; read the tile list.

Caesars Rewards: $40 after $200 — Aug. 31

Spend $200 on room rate and room charges at listed Caesars Rewards hotels in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Reno, and Lake Tahoe for $40 back by Aug. 31, 2026.14 Book direct with Caesars. Pool, bar, amenity, and gift-card spend do not count. Properties outside the listed cities are out.

Carry-forward statement credits from last week’s tracker

The Frequent Miler current Amex Offers snapshot (page dated Aug. 21 in search metadata) still shows 1stDibs ($200 after $1,000, Sept. 10), ADT ($250 after $250 new equipment, Nov. 3), and Aesop ($30 after $200 or $300, Oct. 5).15 Those remain account-level checks if you already planned those purchases.

What is not confirmed this week

No dated public source I checked confirmed a new U.S. Platinum dining Amex Offer or a new hotel-points transfer accelerator during Aug. 18–25. The Avios bonus is a Membership Rewards transfer promotion, not a hotel-points accelerator. Amex Offers remain personalized and partly behind login, so absence from public trackers is not proof that your account is empty—only that these categories lack a dated public confirmation this week.

Your five-minute checklist

Open Amex Offers on every eligible Platinum (and Business Platinum, if you hold one). Search Lufthansa, Peninsula, Delta, Hotels.com, Best Western, Caesars, Air France, KLM, 1stDibs, ADT, and Aesop. Screenshot value, expiry, and booking path before you add anything.
If Delta appears, confirm Amex Travel-only language and the Sept. 3 payment date on the live tile before you spend.
If you hold U.S. Open tickets from Aug. 30, link your Platinum in Resy tonight and set a 9:25 a.m. ET alarm for the Centurion Lounge release. Enroll the $10 / $100 on-site offer if it shows.
For Aug. 30–31 deadlines, only book trips you already needed. Do not manufacture $1,000 of spend for a nominal return.
For Avios 30%, transfer only against a concrete award. Leave the rest of your balance untransferred until you have a ticket plan.
Add the offer, then pay with that same enrolled card, in USD, on the merchant path the terms name. Credits can take up to 30–90 days; refunds reverse eligibility.

This week’s order of operations: confirm Lufthansa and Peninsula if those brands fit a trip you already want; lock Delta’s Amex Travel path if you still need the $250; set the U.S. Open Resy alarm if you will be on the grounds; then clear Aug. 30–31 hotel and Air France/KLM tiles only for planned spend.
