Today’s corporate phrase: "level-set."
The dictionary version sounds harmless: make things even. The office version usually means the room has lost the plot, but everyone would like to discover that politely.
Meeting translation: "Can we level-set?" means nobody is quite sure what was decided, and the calendar is about to absorb the blame.
Say it plain instead: "By Friday, Sam sends the goal, owner, and deadline." It is less mystical, which is why it may survive the meeting.
