One small choice can start acting like a witness statement. You pick a route, reread the choice, and ask what the choice says about your whole life. The saiga has a more practical arrangement: nose first, hoof second, biography later.
Test the patch your nose can reach. Probe the route. If a branch catches the face, call the branch a branch. Reverse before the dead end gets promoted to personality. Then take one boring step. One hoof is enough evidence for today.
Tomorrow may bring a different patch of ground. A different patch of ground can ask for a different choice. Keep the choice small enough to leave.
