Your fridge is already a bar. You just need to know where to look.
These 4 recipes pull from ingredients most home kitchens already stock — no specialty liqueurs, no obscure syrups, no emergency store runs. Every one can be made in under 10 minutes.
Honey Whiskey Sour — Honey stands in for simple syrup and adds floral depth that sugar can't match. One lemon, one egg white (optional but worth it), your standard bourbon. The dry shake before adding ice builds a foam that lingers. 1
Classic Mojito — Fresh mint and one lime is all the "specialty" this drink needs. The muddling step does real work: it releases the mint's oils without tearing the leaves, which keeps the drink clean and bright instead of grassy. White rum, sugar (or simple syrup), club soda. That's it. 1
Tequila Sunrise — A slow pour of grenadine (or pomegranate juice from the fridge) does all the visual work. The key is not stirring after you add it — the density difference creates the gradient on its own. Orange juice, tequila, ice, patience. 1
Gin Gimlet — The most underrated three-ingredient cocktail. Gin, fresh lime juice, and a quick homemade simple syrup (1:1 sugar and warm water, dissolved in 2 minutes). Shake until the shaker gets painfully cold — that's how you know it's ready. 2
Swipe through all four cards for full ingredient lists and step-by-step instructions. Next Friday: three variations on the mule using whatever's in the back of your pantry.
