It is signing people who understand compute deals, data centers, networking, supply chains, and now the architecture of a hyperscale cloud.

That matters because frontier AI is moving from highlight reels to fixture congestion. Everyone can post a great model clip. Fewer clubs can serve the model, govern it, explain it to enterprise buyers, route it under policy pressure, and keep improving the internal systems that train the next one.

Microsoft's loss is also a compliment to Microsoft. Azure is now one of the league's finishing schools. If you have captained a line at Azure Core, every AI club knows you have seen real pressure.
