Crypto Market Daily — July 4, 2026

BTC has reclaimed $62K and ETH is outperforming, while the latest finalized ETF rows show BTC and ETH inflows but sentiment remains in Extreme Fear.

BTC is back above $62,000, ETH is leading the large-cap move, and the ETF tape finally stopped leaning one-way negative. The catch: sentiment is still at Extreme Fear, so this is a rebound that needs follow-through, not a clean risk-on reset. Spot-market cutoff: July 4, 2026, 00:25 UTC+8 for CoinGecko spot data; ETF-flow cutoff: latest fully populated Farside rows dated July 2, 2026.

BTC: $62K reclaimed, but the test is follow-through

BTC was $62,029 on CoinGecko at the spot-data cutoff, up 1.49% over 24 hours, with a CoinGecko 24h range of $61,120 to $62,284 1. Coinbase's BTC-USD feed showed a similar exchange-level band: last $62,032.73, open $61,621.99, high $62,345.50, and low $61,162.79 9. Treat those low and high levels as intraday reference points, not formal support and resistance from a full technical model.
The more important change is in flows. Farside's latest fully populated BTC ETF row, dated July 2, shows +$223.5M in net inflows, led by Fidelity's FBTC at +$166.0M and ARKB at +$91.8M, while IBIT still posted -$40.4M 4. That breaks the run of negative finalized rows from June 17 through July 1.
For the next session, the clean bullish read is simple: BTC needs to hold above the $61.1K-$61.2K intraday floor and push through the $62.3K area with another finalized ETF inflow behind it. If the July 2 ETF row turns into a one-day interruption, the market is back to trading price alone.

ETH: stronger tape, stronger ETF rows

ETH was $1,732.60 on CoinGecko, up 2.72% over 24 hours, versus BTC's 1.49% gain 1. Coinbase's ETH-USD feed showed last $1,732.80, open $1,698.09, high $1,751.42, and low $1,690.11 10. The short-term ETH range is therefore tighter and cleaner than last week's selloff: $1,690 is the level bulls do not want to lose, while $1,750 is the first upside marker.
The ETH ETF table is also firmer than BTC's. Farside shows +$14.8M on July 1 and +$29.0M on July 2, with the July 2 row led by ETHA at +$29.7M, FETH at +$0.8M, ETHV at +$1.2M, and ETHE at -$2.7M 5. There is no separate verified protocol catalyst in today's data pass; the ETH-specific catalyst to watch is whether those two positive ETF rows become a sustained flow reversal.

Major coins and movers

Among the tracked majors, ADA had the standout 24h move at +8.16%, while SOL lagged at +0.76%. The large-cap table is still broadly green, but the spread between ADA and SOL shows this is not a uniform beta rally.

ADA$0.173056+8.16%$0.158914-$0.174225$6.45B 1
Within CoinGecko's top-250 market-cap universe, after filtering out stablecoins, wrapped assets, liquid-staking wrappers, and tokenized treasury-style entries, the top daily gainer was Nexus at +41.61% with a market cap of about $156.7M 11. The top daily loser under the same filter was LAB at -40.28%, with a market cap of about $1.89B 11.

Sentiment and macro context

The Fear & Greed Index improved to 21 from 19, but both readings are still classified as Extreme Fear 3. That matters because a rising market with still-depressed sentiment can extend if flows confirm it, but it can also fade quickly if ETF demand stalls.
Market structure remains BTC-heavy: CoinGecko's global data show total crypto market cap at $2.23T, up 0.68% over 24 hours, with BTC dominance at 55.63% and ETH dominance at 9.35% 2. In equities, Yahoo Finance's S&P 500 chart data put the index at 7,483.24 on the latest daily bar, essentially flat versus the prior close and up about 1.76% over the five-session sample 12.
The Fed backdrop has not changed. FRED shows the federal funds target range at 3.50%-3.75% as of July 3, and the June 17 FOMC statement said inflation remains elevated relative to the 2% goal 6 7 8. That keeps the macro read neutral rather than outright supportive.

What to watch over the next 24-48 hours

  1. BTC ETF confirmation. July 2's +$223.5M BTC row is the first real break in the outflow pattern. A second finalized positive row would matter more than another intraday push above $62K 4.
  2. ETH's $1,690-$1,750 range. ETH is outperforming today, and its ETF rows are already positive for two sessions. Losing $1,690 would weaken that setup; clearing $1,750 with another inflow row would make ETH the cleaner relative-strength trade 10 5.
  3. Breadth outside BTC and ETH. ADA's +8.16% move is useful breadth, but SOL's +0.76% shows large caps are not all moving together. If BTC dominance stays near 55.6% while the major-coin table broadens, the rally has a better chance of spreading beyond ETF-linked names 1 2.
