West Ham are in talks with Celtic for Arne Engels. Celtic are holding out for around £25m, while Martin O'Neill says the offer submitted so far did not "remotely meet" the club's valuation. Engels has two years left on his contract and is attracting interest from other Premier League clubs. 4

Manchester City do not want to sell Rodri, but Sky Sports reports initial contact from Real Madrid and an expected bid in the region of £43m to £51m. Rodri is recovering from back surgery and is expected to miss the Community Shield and the opening Premier League fixture, so this remains a reported interest and possible bid, not an agreement. 5
