Mark Gurman reports that Apple is preparing a Siri AI-centered smart-home hub, a new Apple TV, and a refreshed HomePod mini. The reported hub combines a HomePod-like speaker with a roughly 7-inch square display. Apple is said to be developing two physical versions: one with the screen on a half-dome base for a table, and another that attaches to a wall with a magnetic system. 3

The software is described as an entirely new operating system built on tvOS, with an interface that blends elements of tvOS and watchOS. It would use apps, icons, widgets, and customizable clock faces rather than acting as a simple HomePod display. Reported functions include FaceTime, HomeKit control, home-security monitoring, calendars, photos, music, and intercom features for households with multiple Apple devices. 5 3

The most distinctive claim is facial recognition tied to the interface. The hub could identify who is looking at it, estimate that person's distance, and change the size or type of information shown. The MacBook panel report adds a concrete supply-chain detail, but its original publication predates the 24-hour window and its volume estimate remains unconfirmed.
