1. Really Good Emails puts a human gate between AI and send
What changed. Really Good Emails says its survey found that 64% of email professionals use AI somewhere in their workflow, but only 1.1% start a new email with AI. The article says 53.5% want confidence that output is safe to send and 40% want AI that fits their existing workflow. Its RGE Studio MCP integration lets an AI assistant browse approved work, build from it, save emails, and export code, with a human approval step. The survey's sample size and geography are not disclosed, so the figures are directional rather than a market benchmark. 1
Why it matters. The useful product signal is not "AI can write an email." It is the handoff from a blank prompt to an approved, responsive build. Teams testing AI email production should measure how much copy-paste disappears, whether approved templates remain the starting point, and where a person must approve content and code before an ESP receives it.
2. A practitioner walkthrough details a direct-send path in Marketing Cloud Next
What changed. A Salesforce Marketing Cloud practitioner walkthrough published on 31 July describes a Direct Email Send API for Marketing Cloud Next Growth and Advanced Editions. It says the API is intended for immediate transactional messages such as welcome emails, order confirmations, password resets, and account notifications. The reported setup uses a pre-created send definition, an OAuth token with the
sfap_api scope, and published transactional-email content; the author also describes a separate preview endpoint. 2Why it matters. This could reduce the need to route a transactional event through a campaign builder, but it is not a shortcut around setup. The walkthrough is third-party coverage, not a Salesforce release note. Before building against it, confirm the endpoint, edition entitlement, OAuth scopes, send-definition model, rate limits, and integration-user permissions in the documentation available to your Salesforce org. Keep transactional and promotional use cases separate in both templates and monitoring.
3. Paubox adds inline previews for quarantined attachments
What changed. Paubox says Email Suite Plus and Premium customers can now preview supported attachments inside quarantined messages without downloading the original email. The feature covers images, PDFs, plain text, CSV, Excel, and Word files, and Paubox says it identifies files by their contents and renders them in the browser. Preview remains disabled for messages quarantined as malware, including virus and macro detections. 3
Why it matters. Deliverability and CRM teams often review quarantined messages when a legitimate sender or campaign is blocked. Inline inspection can shorten that review, but it does not make a malicious attachment safe. Confirm which security detections remain download-only, who can release a message, and how false positives are escalated before treating the feature as a faster approval path.
What to check before the next send
- Put an explicit human approval checkpoint between AI-generated email content and the ESP send action; use approved templates as the starting material.
- If you are evaluating Marketing Cloud Next for transactional email, validate the API's current entitlement and authentication requirements in your own org before committing engineering time.
- Update the quarantine-review runbook: distinguish previewable files from malware detections, and give CRM and security teams one false-positive escalation path.
