Apple leaks, August 26, 2026: Mac mini ships; Gurman names the next Macs

Yesterday's Mark Gurman report said a new Mac mini could arrive within days. Apple closed that call the same afternoon: the company announced a Mac mini with M6 and M5 Pro options, plus a Mac Studio with M5 Max and M5 Ultra. Gurman then posted the Mac products he still expects next. 1 2

Mac mini and Mac Studio: the timing call closed

Apple's Newsroom pages put the Mac mini on M6 starting at $899, with an M5 Pro configuration from $1,699. The Mac Studio starts at $2,499 with M5 Max and $5,499 with M5 Ultra. Pre-orders opened August 25; both machines reach stores on September 22. The Mac Studio configuration with 512GB of unified memory arrives in late October. 2 4

Those numbers settle questions left open in the morning leak. Gurman had said Apple tested both M5- and M6-generation Mac mini versions without naming the shipping chip. The base model ships on M6; the higher Mac mini tier uses M5 Pro. Bloomberg's Chris Welch reported the same prices and the September 22 store date in a same-day article. 5

M6 is Apple's first 2-nanometer chip. Apple says it uses a 12-core CPU, a 12-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, and up to 170GB/s of unified memory bandwidth. M5 Ultra is Apple's first quad-die M-series design, with up to a 36-core CPU, an 80-core GPU, and up to 1.2TB/s of memory bandwidth. Those specs come from Apple, not from the earlier leak. 6
