September 18: Claude Code's Projects rewrite, Xianyu's AI slang, and Apple's Intel deadline

A Friday scan of 76 public seed accounts yields seven standout posts, led by Anthropic's rewrite of Claude Code Projects, the slang Chinese sellers use to work around AI keyword bans on Xianyu, and Apple's warning that Intel-era Mac apps stop opening in macOS 28.

Friday's scan across 76 of the 86 configured seed accounts returned 1,262 posts. Of those, 123 were published in the 24 hours of Friday, September 18, 2026, Beijing time, 21 were retweets and are left out here, and eight original posts cleared 100 likes. One of the eight, a photo post from Lakr233 about a visit to Tsukuba, had gone from the timeline by the time this issue was put together, so the other seven are below. The seed accounts cover roughly 2.2% of @hwwaanng's network of about 3,850 accounts, and ten of them returned an upstream error this morning, so read this as a sample of a large network rather than a complete morning scan.

Claude Code's Projects become conversations

At 03:33, Boris Cherny (@bcherny), who works on Claude Code at Anthropic, wrote that Projects has changed the way he codes: he stopped managing sessions, sends thoughts as they arrive, lets Claude split them into threads, and the project remembers how he works. Projects began as folders in Claude's web and desktop apps — a set of files and instructions kept together. Anthropic relaunched it as a conversation, and the launch post describes the machinery behind Cherny's description: you name the goal and connect the repository, one chat acts as the coordinator, and Claude scopes the work, opens threads and reviews what comes back. Cherny's post drew 2,979 likes and 121 reposts. 123

Each of those threads is a full Claude Code session running in Anthropic's cloud, on its own branch and its own copy of the repository, so two threads that touch the same code end up in an ordinary pull-request conflict. All of them read from and write to a memory the project shares, which is what carries a decision such as a moved release date from one thread to the next. Access is the part to check before planning around it. The beta is open to select Pro and Max subscribers who use cloud sessions and have no projects on the web or desktop, Anthropic says more Pro and Max users get it over the coming week, everyone else on those plans can join a waitlist, and Team and Enterprise plans come later. Threads run in the cloud only for now, and because each thread is a full session, a project reaches usage limits faster than a single conversation does. 2
At 01:36, Cherny said Projects is where a lot of his code comes from now. The post quotes Claude's own announcement, which puts the same experience on the path from Claude Code to the Claude app, and drew 2,252 likes and 63 reposts. 45

Xianyu's AI listings move to slang

At 17:18, Nyarime (奶昔🥤, @realNyarime), a developer who writes about networking and eSIMs, reported that Xianyu, Alibaba's second-hand marketplace, has begun taking down listings that carry AI product names — he names GPT and WorkBuddy — and that Qoder now has to be bought by following a listing through to the seller's shop. Sellers have shifted to slang in the titles, he writes: 天才程序员 (genius programmer), Tibo, and 奥特曼月卡 (Altman monthly card). The screenshot he attached is a Xianyu search for tibo: one listing offers to build things online under the title 天才程序员 for ¥135, with three people interested, and another advertises a Tibo plan for personal use on a direct connection at ¥200, with six interested. The post drew 874 likes and 32 reposts, with 290 replies. 6

Apple puts a date on Intel-era apps

At 17:01, Nyarime posted the dialog macOS 27 shows him, with the remark that the Intel-architecture apps he still runs are basically all professional software. The dialog tells him that support for Intel-based apps is ending and that apps running under Rosetta need an Apple-silicon version, and the list under it is empty because macOS has recorded no recently used Intel apps on his machine. Apple's support document, published September 14, states the same deadline from the other side: Rosetta runs Intel-based apps on macOS 27 or earlier, and from macOS 28 it will be available only for certain older, unmaintained games that rely on Intel-based frameworks. The document points users to System Settings, then General, then About, which in macOS 27 shows an "Intel-based Apps" section listing what has to be replaced with a Universal or Apple-silicon build. Nyarime's post drew 155 likes and 2 reposts. 78

Also in the timeline

At 11:24, Nyarime posted a screenshot of a Douyin comment thread about Lu Haitao, the 49-year-old worker from Anyang, Henan, who was found in a tunnel of the Upper Trishuli-1 hydropower project in Nepal on September 5, eleven days after the August 26 glacial debris flow buried the site. The Korean overseas emergency rescue team (KDRT) found him; Nepali teams brought him out. A search suggestion above the thread points to the news that the Korean rescue team found Lu Haitao, and the most-liked comments in it thank the Korean team: the top one, thanking Korea for sending a rescue team all this way, has 1,256 likes, and the most-liked reply under it, with 291, says the commenters know who deserves the thanks. The post drew 590 likes and 18 reposts. 910

At 15:14, Nyarime relayed a promotion he had found on a forum: 100 GB over 60 days on a Stellar eSIM for €13.20, about ¥106, on a Hong Kong (CMLink) or Singapore (SingTel) profile, with two discount codes to try at checkout, SANTA for 15% off and MYBESTSIM for 10%. The post drew 111 likes and 7 reposts, and 177 people bookmarked it. 1112

The post drew 104 likes and 20 replies. 13

Projects have changed not only how I interact with Claude but how I code. I stopped managing sessions. I just send thoughts as they come, Claude splits them into threads, and the project remembers how I work. It's where I do a ton of my coding now.
