What Cook actually said

During Apple’s July 30 earnings call, Goldman Sachs analyst Michael Ng asked how public-beta usage of Apple Intelligence and the new Siri AI might affect compute costs, including whether Apple could recover some of those costs through iCloud+.
Cook replied that Apple believes some people will want to use the AI features heavily, and that it will have “some kind of upgrade possibilities on iCloud Plus where people can buy up the stack on iCloud Plus.” He also said Apple does not yet have a complete plan. 1
