All three signals trace back to the same GF Securities note. The iPhone Air 2's new increment is the component list

Jeff Pu expects the second-generation iPhone Air in the first quarter of 2027. His note keeps the phone in the same general size class, with a roughly 6.5-inch display, 12GB of RAM, and an 18-megapixel Center Stage front camera. 1

The second-camera direction is therefore not the part to treat as new. The useful increment is the combination of a named 48-megapixel Ultra Wide module with specific future Apple silicon and modem names. A named analyst's investor note is stronger than an anonymous social post, and the two outlets agree on the central hardware changes. But neither report supplies a prototype, supplier document, certification record, or Apple software identifier. Treat the feature list as a medium-confidence roadmap forecast, not a near-final specification sheet.

The 18e RAM claim now has a second analyst

The 9GB figure is not new: Ming-Chi Kuo reported it in June. The fresh increment is that Pu independently repeats the number and names the lower-end iPhone 18e specifically. MacRumors reports that Pu expects the model to move from 8GB to 9GB of RAM and launch by March 2027. 3

That number is not new to the Apple rumor cycle. Ming-Chi Kuo reported in June that the lower-end iPhone 18 models would use 9GB of DRAM, describing a 1.5GB-by-six-die arrangement instead of the current 2GB-by-four-die layout. MacRumors interpreted that group as the regular iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. 4

This is genuine cross-analyst agreement on the memory figure, but it is not same-day corroboration. Kuo's report is older, and neither analyst has shown a final component list. The safer conclusion is that 9GB has moved from a single-analyst claim to a repeated supply-chain forecast. The exact allocation, production status, and Apple Intelligence features that may depend on it remain open.

The Pro price signal gets a specific range

General component-cost and price pressure has appeared in earlier Apple leak coverage. Pu's new contribution is a concrete $250 to $300 range for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, tied to named chip and memory assumptions. The same Pu note puts the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at $250 to $300 above their iPhone 17 Pro equivalents. The current starting prices are $1,099 and $1,199, which would imply about $1,349 to $1,399 for the Pro and $1,449 to $1,499 for the Pro Max. 5 6

Pu attributes the estimate to higher costs for the A20 Pro chip, LPDDR5X memory, and NAND storage. 9to5Mac says the latter two components could cost Apple roughly three times as much as last year, but that remains the analyst's cost model, not a disclosed supplier quote. 6

The price range is worth watching because it turns a broad cost-pressure theme into a product-specific scenario. It is still the weakest claim in this issue: Apple can absorb part of the cost, change storage tiers, or set a different launch price. "$1,399" is an implied analyst range, not an Apple price leak.
