The evidence is useful, but most of it still traces to one Mark Gurman newsletter, so repeated coverage is not the same as independent confirmation.

Apple Watch: the redesign is still on the whiteboard

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says Apple's industrial design team has spent about a year exploring a wider Apple Watch reset. The ideas include screenless fitness-tracker-style devices, different screen types, new sizes, premium models above the Ultra and Hermes lines, and cheaper options beyond the SE. An AppleInsider summary of the same newsletter says the expected Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 would be mostly performance updates, with health and fitness changes but no major case redesign in 2026. MacRumors describes Gurman as a Bloomberg reporter with a long history of accurate Apple-product reporting, and says his claims often set expectations early in the rumor cycle. That makes the direction worth tracking, but it does not turn a design exploration into a launch commitment. 5

Supply chain: CXMT is being tested, not approved

Reuters, citing The Wall Street Journal, reports that Apple has been testing memory chips from China's ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) for product lines including iPhones and MacBooks. The stated goal is to ease a component shortage linked to the AI boom. Reuters says Apple held early talks about using the chips in some devices sold in China. 6

The important boundary is the verb: testing. This report does not show that Apple has approved CXMT for broad iPhone or Mac production, that the chips will appear in the next launch, or that they would be used outside China. It adds a supplier-specific response to the memory squeeze; it does not prove a finished component decision.

Foldable iPhone: the roadmap now reaches 2028

This is roadmap context, not a near-term specification. Apple's first foldable has not shipped, and AppleInsider notes that a far-out third-generation project could still be canceled if the first product performs badly. 8

Apple Upgrade: a setup feature that was cut

What to watch next
