How listings are ranked

Each listing is scored on two axes: rarity (earlier retirement year, lower secondary-market supply, fewer total recorded sales) and discount strength (listing price vs. current market reference — PriceCharting sold average or BrickLink for-sale price, whichever is available). A listing priced at a premium over market is excluded from the ranked section regardless of rarity, because the deal dimension simply is not there.
