hongjoin puts a clock face on coming-of-age indie pop

Singaporean-born, Brooklyn-based artist-producer hongjoin built CLOCKWORK around an invisible clock: 12 tracks mapped to 12 hours, moving through joy, loss, confusion, and acceptance before returning to the start. 1

Start with "Universe." Inspired by The Little Prince, hongjoin calls it the album's entry point: a song about finding love, losing it, and slowly finding your way back. 1

His shorthand for the sound is intimate Asian pop sensibility meeting the openness of American indie culture. 1
