Amex Platinum offers: Marriott expansion, new Hyatt and travel credits

Amex Platinum offers: Marriott expansion, new Hyatt and travel credits

A weekly action guide to the new Marriott, Hyatt, Sixt, and Viator Amex Offers, the expired Amazon points offer, Hertz re-enrollment, and the remaining Virgin Atlantic transfer bonus.

The short list

Four new or refreshed signals surfaced for US Platinum cardholders between July 14 and July 21: targeted Marriott credits, a new Hyatt credit, a returning Sixt credit, and a refreshed Viator credit. The Marriott version can reach 40% back at the minimum spend, but the offer is targeted and the deadline is not uniform across accounts. 1
Amazon's 1,000-point version was also reported during the window, but its July 19 deadline has passed. Treat it as closed, not as a live offer to chase. 2

The standing terms exclude travel agents, third-party or affiliate bookings, Sixt Ride, and Sixt Share; the rental must be completed by the offer end date. The page's older body still carries a stale date, so confirm the current terms in your account before booking. 4

The page's standing text says Viator's US website or app in US dollars and excludes Tripadvisor bookings, but the refreshed note does not repeat every channel rule. 5
A missing offer is also useful information: no new dining-specific Platinum offer was confirmed in this window from the public records checked. Your Amex Offers list is account-specific, so the app remains the final eligibility check.

What to do first

1. Recheck Marriott before July 22

This is the strongest new cash-back opportunity if the $150 back on $375 version appears. At exactly $375, the credit is 40% of the qualifying charge. The $100/$400 and $50/$250 versions are still useful, but the math is less generous. Do not assume a Marriott gift card or an excluded brand will trigger it. Use the exact expiration date shown on the offer tile, since Frequent Miler reports that targeting and expiration have expanded for some accounts. 1

2. Check the Hyatt tile before planning a stay

The new Hyatt version is a $100 credit on $500 at select properties through November 15. It is not a blanket Hyatt discount. Check the participating-property PDF and the offer terms on your card before booking, and avoid prepaid reservations unless your account terms explicitly allow them. The public update confirms the value and end date, but not a separate enrollment deadline or a complete public cap.

3. Use Sixt or Viator only for a real trip

Sixt gives a clean 20% back at the $500 threshold, while Viator can return $80 over two $250 bookings. Both are targeted and require enrollment first. For Sixt, use the direct US booking path and pay online. For Viator, stay on Viator's US site or app and confirm the refreshed terms because the public page mixes the current July update with older standing copy. 4 5

Closed during the window: Amazon

Doctor of Credit reported several targeted Amazon variants on July 17: 1,000 Membership Rewards points after $40, 500 points after $50, or 1,200 points after $150. Each version could be used three times, for caps of 3,000, 1,500, or 3,600 points. Purchases had to be made directly at Amazon.com or in the Amazon app, with corporate and custom-designed gift cards, Prime memberships, auto-renewing subscriptions, and third-party purchases excluded. All listed variants expired July 19. 2
The r/AmexPlatinum post carrying the offer reached 181 points and 42 comments, but several commenters said the offer did not appear for them. That is a useful availability datapoint, not proof that every Platinum card was eligible. When Amazon runs another version, check both the Amazon Amex offer page and the Amex Offers section before spending. 6

Platinum travel housekeeping: Hertz

This is not a new Amex Offer, but it is a time-sensitive Platinum benefit task. American Express is asking existing users of the Hertz Gold+ President's Circle benefit to re-enroll by December 31, 2026. The path is American Express Benefits, then the Car Rental Privileges tile, Learn More, and Enroll Now. Enter your Hertz Gold+ loyalty number and allow up to 72 hours for processing. 7
The benefit is available to the personal Platinum, Morgan Stanley Platinum, Schwab Platinum, and Business Platinum cards, among other eligible Amex products. If you hold multiple eligible cards, enroll through the one you expect to keep longest. President's Circle includes guaranteed vehicle availability, a guaranteed one-class upgrade, and 50% bonus points on rentals. 7

Transfer bonus carry-forward

No new Amex Membership Rewards transfer bonus was added after July 14 in the current transfer-bonus record. The 20% Amex-to-Hilton bonus closed July 14, while the 30% Amex-to-Virgin Atlantic bonus remains active through July 31 at a 1,000-to-1,300 transfer ratio. Transfer only after you have an award or a specific redemption ready; a bonus does not remove the risk of moving points into a program you may not use. 8
The practical order this week is simple: check Marriott, Hyatt, Sixt, and Viator in Amex Offers; ignore the expired Amazon tile; then re-enroll Hertz if you use that benefit. Keep Virgin Atlantic in mind for a confirmed redemption, not as a place to park Membership Rewards points.
