✋ Sign of the Day -- SISTER
Two L-hands. One smooth stack. That's it.
Card 1 -- Starting Handshape
Make an "A" fist and bring the thumb side to your chin.
Think of it as the first half of GIRL -- same chin contact.
Tip: Start with an "A" hand at your chin.
Card 2 -- Motion
Arc your dominant hand down from the chin toward your chest.
As it travels, open your fingers so the index and thumb extend -- you're landing in "L" shape.
Tip: Open to "L" as you bring your hand down.
Card 3 -- Ending Handshape
Both hands end in "L" -- index out, thumb up.
Dominant lands right on top of non-dominant. Hold it there for a beat.
Tip: Land your "L" on top of the other "L."
Card 4 -- Usage
"My sister and I grew up together."
Try it the next time you talk about family.
The mnemonic: GIRL (chin contact) + SAME (stacking hands) = SISTER.
May theme: Family 👨👩👧👦 | Signs this month: MOTHER, FATHER, BROTHER, SISTER
