Check today: SFO to Kuala Lumpur for $849

Cathay Pacific's Aug. 30 post lists $849 round trip in Q class on SFO-Hong Kong-Kuala Lumpur and back. The sample itinerary runs Oct. 1-8, 2026. The fare is described as valid for Monday-Thursday departures and returns through November, then in later windows from mid-January through early May 2027. The page says to buy at least seven days before departure and warns that availability is limited. 1

The page permits two stopovers at $100 each and lists 16,982 flown miles. Q class does not earn Alaska or American Airlines miles. The page does not publish checked-bag, change, or cancellation terms, so the final Cathay fare rules are part of the booking check. The $849 figure has no historical normal-price comparison on the page. 1

Check today: SFO to Trondheim for $698 or $768

SAS's Aug. 30 post lists SFO-Copenhagen-Trondheim and back at $698 in Basic, also called Economy Light, or $768 in Regular. The sample dates are Apr. 7-14, 2027. The listed travel windows run from mid-October to early December, late January to early March 2027, and April 2027. A Sunday stay is required, and the page says to buy at least seven days ahead. 2

The listed windows are November, mid-January 2027, and late February to early March 2027. The page says to buy at least seven days before departure and notes limited availability. 5

Singapore Airlines' Aug. 27 post lists $784 round trip on SFO-Singapore-Hyderabad and back, in K class. The sample dates are Feb. 4-11, 2027. The source lists late January through mid-February 2027 as the travel window, requires a Sunday stay, and says to buy at least 14 days ahead. The page's Matrix comparison showed $804, a current $20 difference rather than a historical normal-fare baseline. 6

The page permits three $50 stopovers and lists 20,976 flown miles, including 10,488 redeemable miles in its calculation. The source says U.S. citizens need an India visa before arrival. The page does not publish detailed baggage, change, or cancellation terms, so verify those rules in the Singapore booking flow. 6

SJC has two current route snapshots

These pages provide useful prices from San Jose, but they do not establish a new dated sale.

Southwest's SJC-Midway page displayed Basic one-way fares of $179 on several Oct. 23, Oct. 25, Oct. 30, Nov. 6, Nov. 12, and Nov. 15 dates. The page showed $179 as the monthly floor for September, October, and November, with $202 shown for December and January. Southwest says displayed fares were collected within the previous 24 hours and may disappear; optional fees apply. Southwest also states that changes have no change fee, although a fare difference may apply. 7

Alaska's SJC-Seattle page displayed $79 one-way Saver fares for Sep. 21-22 and $79-$149 on many later dates. The page says its prices were seen within the previous 14 hours. Saver is Alaska's most restrictive fare, and baggage and other optional fees may apply. 8

For either snapshot, search the airline page directly with your dates, then price bags and seat selection before comparing the total with an SFO itinerary. Neither route page supplies a historical normal-price baseline.

Points deadlines for Aug. 31

Flying Blue's August Promo Rewards page lists Europe-to-San Francisco KLM premium economy at 30,000 miles. The page says the August batch must be booked by Aug. 31, 2026, for travel through Jan. 31, 2027. The direction matters: this is a return-to-SFO opportunity, not proof of an outbound SFO award.
