Three items deserve the first live search this Monday: Copa's SFO-Rio fare from $738 in Basic Economy, Delta/KLM's SFO-Bucharest fare from $754, and an August Flying Blue award window that prices Europe-to-San Francisco premium economy at 30,000 miles. The Flight Deal says its fares are often gone after roughly two days, so treat anything marked "verify first" as a live-search lead rather than held inventory. Where a source gives both fare families, the number in parentheses is the extra cash for Regular Economy; that is a useful tradeoff anchor, not a historical normal-price baseline.

What I would check first

Start with Rio and Bucharest, but compare the usable fare rather than the headline fare. Both posts are only a day old, and each gives a clear Basic-versus-Regular decision. Rio's $250 upgrade is large, but adding a checked bag to Basic would already cost $200 round trip before a seat; Bucharest's $220 upgrade buys the bag, carry-on, and seat assignment, while the Basic fare also requires a Sunday stay and 28-day advance purchase. 1 2

Tallinn is the cleaner European fare-family comparison. The gap is only $100, and Regular includes a checked bag; the $749 Economy Light fare can become $899 after a prepaid first bag. That still may suit a light packer, but it is not the same product as the $849 fare. The sample is for February 2027, so this is a planning-window opportunity rather than a last-minute trip. 4

The Taiwan fares are the best fit for a traveler who values included baggage. United lists two checked bags on both the $775 Kaohsiung fare and the $751 Taipei fare, but both require a live search because the posts are several days old. Key West is the domestic check, with the same Basic-Economy trap. The $300 fare is not a flexible ticket: no advance seat assignment, no changes or cancellations, last boarding group, and no mileage earning. If you need a carry-on and a seat, start with the $410 Regular fare instead of treating the $110 difference as an optional upgrade. 9

Points deadlines and award reality

The most usable points lead this week is not an outbound Bay Area award. August's Flying Blue Promo Rewards include Europe to San Francisco in KLM premium economy for 30,000 miles, with a booking deadline of August 31 and travel through January 31, 2027. The discount is 25% off the lowest standard award price when that price is available; taxes and surcharges are not stated in the source. This is an inbound SFO opportunity, so do not infer that SFO-to-Europe prices are also 30,000 miles. Flying Blue Extra-only rows are restricted to subscribers. 3

A separate August 7 alert from Upgraded Points advertises SFO-to-Vietnam business class from 95,000 miles for up to two travelers. I could verify the alert's title, date, and route description, but not retrieve its full award table for travel dates, taxes, or the exact program. Treat it as a search lead, not a booking-ready award: find the seats and the cash co-pay before moving points. 10

Baseline, promotions, and airport coverage

The Regular-vs.-Basic gaps above are current product comparisons, not claims that a route is a certain percentage below its usual price. For the same reason, I would not turn $706 to Santiago or $751 to Taipei into a savings percentage without a separate historical benchmark.

This scan did not produce a Bay Area-specific cash flash sale with a verified promo code, published discount depth, and current booking deadline. Flying Blue's award promotion is the one verified program-wide promotion; it is not a cash fare sale. No independently verified error or glitch fare survived the check either.

The cash leads that survived verification are all from SFO. I did not find a route-specific, independently bookable OAK or SJC deal in this seven-day pass, and none of the current verified entries is from a budget carrier. That is a coverage result, not evidence that OAK or SJC inventory is empty; check those origins separately if they are materially better for your trip. 11
