The StubHub Fee Refund: Check These Two Receipt Lines

The FTC's April 9, 2026 stipulated order requires StubHub to place $10 million in a consumer fund. Eligible buyers purchased U.S. live-event tickets from May 12 through May 14, 2025 and had not already received a refund or chargeback. The order says StubHub neither admits nor denies the allegations. 1
The refund calculation is unusually direct: the fulfillment fee plus the service fee. StubHub must send payment automatically to the original payment method, then use PayPal if that refund fails. A separate D.C. attorney general lawsuit alleged that StubHub sold nearly 5 million tickets to District consumers and collected an estimated $118 million in hidden fees after adopting drip pricing. That works out to roughly $23.60 per ticket. 2
For the next ticket purchase, compare the all-in total across sellers. The first ticket price is only useful after every mandatory fee is included.
