Fintech and crypto: Canton gets a large a16z crypto round

Digital Asset was the week's largest tracked investment by disclosed size. The company announced a $355 million funding round led by a16z crypto to expand Canton, its privacy-enabled layer-one network for institutional finance workflows. The company described the use cases as tokenization, collateral mobility, settlement, payments, and other regulated financial-market activity. 1
The round type was not explicit in Digital Asset's own press release, but Sidley, which represented the company, described the transaction as a US$355 million Series F financing led by a16z crypto. 2 The investor list also included large financial institutions and market-structure names such as Apollo Funds, BNP Paribas, Citadel Securities, CME Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, HSBC, S&P Global, SoFi, and Tradeweb. 1

Enterprise AI: a16z backs workers, YC backs voice

Convey is the most direct enterprise-agent bet in this week's set. a16z said it is leading Convey's $38 million Series A. The company lets non-technical teams train and run "digital teammates" that operate inside existing enterprise systems, with each agent carrying its own identity and permissions. 3
The operating-data claims in the a16z post are unusually concrete for an early-stage AI agent company: Convey says its teammates have completed more than 1.1 million hours of real work and that one large streaming customer handed off reporting and ad-ops workflows worth 450+ hours per week. 3 Those metrics should still be treated as company-reported, not independently audited.
Bland raised a $50 million Series C led by Dell Technologies Capital. The company said all existing investors also participated, naming Y Combinator among them. Bland positions its product around long, non-linear voice conversations in healthcare, financial services, and other regulated settings, and says it now handles more than 3.5 million calls per week. 7

Healthcare: two a16z-linked rounds, two different routes to data

Telepatia announced the larger healthcare round: a16z led a $33 million Series A for the Latin America-focused clinical AI platform. a16z said the product is deployed across 25+ hospital systems in Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico, reaching 14 million patients. 4

a16z used this physician-shortage chart to frame Telepatia's market entry: fewer clinicians per capita than OECD averages, concentrated hospital systems, and room for AI-native clinical workflows. 4
Clair Health raised $11.6 million in a round led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from a16z speedrun and several other investors. TechCrunch described Clair as a wearable and AI company trying to track hormone-related signals for women's health, including cycle irregularities and perimenopause. 6

Clair's hardware pitch is noninvasive hormone tracking; TechCrunch reported that the device is in closed beta, with planned November shipments at $369 plus a $9.99 monthly subscription. 6

Industrial automation and cybersecurity

Podium Automation raised an $18 million Series A led by Construct Capital, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz. Podium builds industrial control panels using a software-enabled process and says it can deliver panels in less than four weeks, compared with historical lead times that often exceed 12 weeks. 5

Podium's Series A announcement framed the company's pitch around software-driven manufacturing for industrial control panels, a bottleneck in automated production and infrastructure projects. 5
Ent emerged from stealth with a $100 million seed round led by Decibel and participation from Sequoia, Crosspoint Capital, Craft Ventures, Shield Capital, Felicis, and In-Q-Tel. SecurityWeek described the company as an intent-aware endpoint security startup that evaluates human and AI-agent behavior in real time before risky actions complete. 8

Exit check

No tracked exit made the final cut this week. Search returned several social and newsletter mentions of a possible Cursor/SpaceX transaction, but the claim could not be verified against an accessible primary announcement, Reuters, Bloomberg, TechCrunch article body, or company press release for this issue. It stays out of the deal table until a source in that tier is available.

What this week's mix says

The week leaned toward AI, but the round shapes were different: a16z led new enterprise and healthcare Series A rounds, a16z crypto led a late-stage infrastructure financing, YC appeared through continued participation in Bland's Series C, and Sequoia showed up in a very large cybersecurity seed round. The disclosed deal-size total for verified entries was $905.6 million; no company in the set disclosed a new valuation.
