The lead story from Tuesday came from Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital, who said Apple has shipped iPhone Ultra prototype units to mobile carriers worldwide for network and field testing — a milestone that typically signals a device is in late-stage validation before mass production. The source also confirmed the hinge will use liquid metal, a high-strength amorphous alloy that is tougher than titanium and stainless steel, lighter than conventional hinge materials, and designed to resist wear across hundreds of thousands of fold cycles.1
