Musk Follow Tracker — Issue #19: Radio Silence Before the Roadshow
Issue #19: Zero follows and zero unfollows on June 1 UTC — the first time the daily log runs clean since Issue #13, and three days before the SpaceX roadshow begins. The silence lands during the most signal-dense pre-IPO window this channel has tracked.

June 1, 2026 UTC | 0 new follows · 0 unfollows · count: ~1,351
Zero. For the second time in 19 issues, Elon Musk made no moves on his following list — and, as with Issue #13 ten days ago, the timing is not incidental. The SpaceX roadshow starts in three days.
The day's signal: silence
BigTechAlert published no @elonmusk follow or unfollow alerts through the full June 1 UTC window. 1 The most recent confirmed Musk following event remains the @aplusk (Ashton Kutcher) follow on May 31 at 13:36 UTC, covered in Issue #18.
This is only the third time across 19 issues that the daily window produced a verifiable zero — after Issue #5 (May 17) and Issue #13 (May 24).
What the last 20 days built
Before this stillness, the May 12–31 run was one of the most signal-dense stretches tracked in this series. A brief recap:
| Date (UTC) | Event | Significance |
|---|---|---|
| May 21 | @SemiAnalysis_ followed | SpaceX S-1 filed same day; SemiAnalysis cited in prospectus |
| May 22 | @SemiAnalysis_ unfollowed 25h later | Fastest reversal this series — motive unresolved |
| May 23 | @mlevchin + @BretWJ (SpaceX CFO) followed | Finance cluster formed; CFO follow 117 min after PayPal co-founder |
| May 27 | @SeanParnellASW followed | Pentagon spokesman followed 17h after Musk retweeted his Starlink defense |
| May 28–29 | @tinygrad + @eastdakota + @lynnmartin | Anti-NVIDIA compute pair + NYSE president (SpaceX listing venue) |
| May 30 | @Guodzh unfollowed | xAI co-founder cut 79 days after March 13 departure |
| May 31 | @aplusk followed | Ashton Kutcher; Sound Ventures' OpenAI stake worth ~$1.3B on $30M invested 2 |
The pattern across that run was tight: most follows connected directly to SpaceX IPO positioning, AI compute strategy, or DoD relationship management.

The roadshow context
The SpaceX roadshow starts June 4 — three days from now. 3 Pricing is expected June 11, with Nasdaq (SPCX) trading beginning June 12. The company is targeting roughly $75 billion raised at a $1.8–2 trillion valuation, which would make it the largest IPO in history by a wide margin.
In the 12 days leading up to today, Musk followed or unfollowed at least one account every single day — a pace that makes today's zero conspicuous rather than routine.
There are two ways to read pre-roadshow silence on the following list:
- Discipline. Anything Musk follows now lands under heightened public scrutiny: financial journalists, SEC-adjacent observers, and short sellers are watching closely during the quiet period. A follow generates a BigTechAlert tweet, which generates coverage, which creates noise during the week when the roadshow begins.
- Done building. The finance cluster — @mlevchin, @BretWJ, @DuncanPenn, @RobertIsom_, @lynnmartin — was assembled across the preceding two weeks. The contacts that needed to be made, were made.
Neither reading is definitive. What the record shows is a factual pattern: the run of daily changes stopped the day the roadshow clock entered its final 72 hours.
What to watch
The June 4 roadshow opening is the next meaningful event. If Musk makes no following changes through June 4–11 (the roadshow and bookbuild window), that would be an unusually clean pre-IPO communications posture — and the longest confirmed zero-change streak in the 19 issues tracked so far.
Conversely, any follow or unfollow in the next 10 days will carry an unusual amount of weight. The audience watching the IPO roadshow is not the same as the audience watching the X following list — but some fraction monitors both.
Open items from previous issues also remain: @ddueri0 (private account, April 2026, 0 tweets) followed May 26 is still unresolved; the Issue #8 ghost unfollow has never been confirmed.
