🗺️ AI invented a country. It said the fog has never cleared. Not once.
AI invented an entire country from scratch — flag, map, culture, and a classified archival record. Meet the Grand Duchy of Sulvaren, Est. 1408: governed by a Hereditary Fog Council, home to laws against optimism, and the site of a river that officially never existed.

We asked AI to invent a country that doesn't exist — and it did NOT hold back.
Meet the Grand Duchy of Sulvaren: Est. 1408, landlocked in a mountain range that appears in no other atlas, governed by a Hereditary Fog Council, and home to a law that makes optimism a finable offense.
The fog here has never cleared. Not once. Not ever. Swipe through and see if you'd still emigrate.
Which part would you move there for — the fog broth, the fog-reading sport, or the classified river that reversed course and no one is allowed to discuss?

THE GRAND DUCHY OF SULVAREN
Est. 1408 · Capital: Morthis
"The fog here has never cleared. Not once. Not ever."
Slide 2 — Identity
Official Name: The Grand Duchy of Sulvaren
Government: Hereditary Fog Council (Ducal Arcanocracy)
Capital: Morthis, Pop. 31,400
National Motto: Vel Miru, Vel Cendas — "Through the Fog, We Remember" (Sulvar lang.)
Founded: 1408, by Duke Aldric the Surveyor
Slide 3 — Map
Territory bounded by the Sulvar Peaks (north) and the Greyveil Ridge (south).
The River Morva bisects the plateau east to west. Lake Cendas sits fog-shrouded to the west.
Cities: Morthis (capital ★), Valdrecht (east), Fenspire (west), Ashmere (far north).
Marginal survey note: "No sun observed during survey — navigated by compass only."
Slide 4 — Culture
National Dish: Fog Broth — copper-leaf broth with grey moss and river cress, sealed in the vessel and opened at the table.
National Sport: Fog-Reading — competitors interpret fog formations for 3 minutes, then recite terrain predictions. Judged on accuracy and poetry.
Cultural Export: Pressed copper-leaf currency blanks (the Sulvar Cend) — traded as both legal tender and decorative art.
Citizen Archetype: The Fenner — patient, methodical, deeply suspicious of clear weather.
National Law (Edict 7, 1651): It is unlawful to claim you can see more than 40 metres. Optimism is a finable offence.

DISPUTED RECORD — Duchy Historical Commission
CLASSIFIED — NOT FOR GENERAL CIRCULATION
It is documented nowhere in official Sulvaren records that the River Morva reversed course on the morning of 14 March 1601. The Fog Council denied the event occurred. The surveyor who measured it, one Aldric Fenner III, was subsequently awarded the Duchy's highest honour — the Copper Compass — for "service to the stability of cartographic truth." His field notebook, which would have contained the measurements, was lost. It was found in 1922, sealed in wax, inside a second wax seal, inside a locked cabinet labelled EMPTY. The notebook contained only one entry: "The river knows." No further notation.
