Hurt.com hits $337K — five picks for Monday June 23 domain auctions
Monday screen across GoDaddy (2,570 names) and NameJet (Cloudflare wall active): 4 high-confidence picks, 1 coin-flip. GeniusTeacher.com ($1,354, 7 bids, ed-tech), GreenMountainChocolate.com ($1,113, 27yr, DMOZ+348BL), MooseValley.com (~$69, 27yr NameJet), Maximation.com (~$69, 29yr portmanteau), gibchess.com ($1,331 coin-flip). Hurt.com at $337K+ anchors the weekly climate. DropCatch session pending.
Hurt.com is sitting at $337,000 on GoDaddy with the clock still ticking, and that number tells the whole story of the week before you look at a single Monday pick. A domain that sold for $1.5 million in 2023 has returned to wholesale at a 77% discount — not because the name got worse, but because the cohort of buyers who will bid six figures at auction is thin, and right now they've already spent their ammunition. 1 The mid-tier wholesale market — the $500–$5,000 range where this screen lives — is separate from that drama. Volume there is healthy.
Monday supply: GoDaddy at 2,570 names, a slight dip from Sunday's 2,656, which is the normal weekend-to-Monday trough pattern. 2 Pages 0–10 (250 names, 9.7% of supply) were screened. NameJet's Cloudflare wall regressed again on June 22 after a 1-day access window — four picks sourced from Shane Cultra's Monday DSAD list as fallback, with bids assumed at floor. DropCatch resumed its first session after the weekend pause; results had not been published to DomainGang as of the 4:00 PM ET research window and are not included in this screen. 3
Five picks cleared the full filter: three from GoDaddy, two from NameJet. One coin-flip. Verify all bids live before placing.
7-day auction climate (June 15–22, 2026)
Three confirmed sales anchor the week. Lucky8.com sold for $105,510 on GoDaddy on June 20 — 237 bids, the highest contest rate of any single domain this week. 4 Pedal.com closed at $121,000 on GoDaddy around June 19 — Shane Cultra bid $105,000 and lost. 4 Mithra.com topped June 21 at $28,000. 5 NameBio recorded $498K across 588 sales on June 20, and $506K across 618 sales on June 21. 5 Three-day weekend tracked volume: approximately $1.66 million.
DropCatch ran three sessions in the June 17–19 window before the weekend pause: MetroFrance.com $17,500 (June 17 lead), GoodBrand.com $6,350 (June 18 lead), Esmateria.com $25,000 (June 19 lead, 112 domains totaling $91,772). 3 Monday brings pent-up supply from two closed days.

Two portfolio moves from Telepathy Inc. (Nat Cohen) closed within 24 hours of each other. CGK.com (3-letter, registered 1996) sold to bedding company CGK Linens as an end-user acquisition — the domain now forwards to CGKLinens.com. 6 Trigonal.com (registered 2001, 25 years old) appears sold to a domain investor, based on lander and WHOIS changes. 7 Two premium exits in one week from the same portfolio holder suggests deliberate repositioning, not fire-sale pressure.
Sedo GreatDomains runs through June 25 with 270 domains. Overall.com is at $9,999 against a $100K–$249K reserve; DML.com at $40,000 against a $100K–$250K reserve — both well below reserve with three days left. 8 DNJournal (May 25–July 7) shows MindMesh.com $150,000 at the top of the current report period, with mid-range .com holding 9 of the Top 20 slots. 9 NamesCon 2026 ticket prices increase June 26 — Miami conference, November 2026. 3

High-confidence picks
GeniusTeacher.com — $1,354 · GoDaddy · 12 years old
Pattern: Education brandable two-word .com. 7 bidders. Clean TM.
CDX first archive December 17, 2014 — 12 years confirmed. 10 Justia returned no marks for "genius teacher" — TM clean. 11 GoDaddy traffic score: 9, which suggests residual type-in traffic from the domain's prior active use.
Seven bidders at $1,354 is the signal here. This level of contest — seven independent parties agreeing the floor price is worth competing over — doesn't happen on marginal names. Backlinks are thin (7 Majestic), so the buyer logic is brand potential, not SEO transfer. "GeniusTeacher" reads cleanly as an ed-tech product, tutoring platform, or AI education tool. The word "genius" has strong consumer recall; the compound is natural, not forced.
Comps from the current DNJournal window: OnlySchool.com $5,508 — 4.1× vs $1,354. 9 LetsEnroll.com $3,750 — 2.8×. 9 LearnKart.com $4,700 — 3.5×. 9 The 2.8–4.1× range at realistic exit ($3,750–$5,508) means this needs an education end-user, not a portfolio flip. The name is too specific for pure wholesale parking returns.
- Suggested bid ceiling: $2,031 ($1,354 × 1.5)
- Resale channel: Afternic BIN at $3,750–$5,500 — target ed-tech platforms, AI tutoring startups, and online course operators; DAN.com for direct outbound at 6 months
- Flip timeline: 18 months
- Confidence: High — 12-year CDX age, clean TM, 7 competitive bids, three education comps at 2.8–4.1×
GreenMountainChocolate.com — $1,113 · GoDaddy · 27 years old
Pattern: Three-word geographic brand .com. Dmoz listed. 6 bidders. 348 backlinks.
CDX first archive November 28, 1999 — 27 years confirmed, the oldest GoDaddy entry in today's screen. 12 Justia returned no marks for "green mountain chocolate" — TM clean. 13 Two authority signals rarely seen together in the auction pool: Dmoz listing (one of only two domains in today's scanned pages carrying it) and 348 Majestic external backlinks with 23 SEOkicks domain pop — the strongest backlink profile in this entire batch.
"Green Mountain Chocolate" is the kind of name that doesn't need explanation. It evokes a real geography (Vermont, the Northeast), a real product category, and a premium positioning that most brandables have to work much harder for. The combination of 27-year age, Dmoz listing, and 348 BL means any buyer inherits genuine index authority — not just a brand shell.
Comps: LearnKart.com $4,700 (branded ecommerce, Atom.com) — 4.2× vs $1,113. 9 BrainPorts.com $4,499 (three-word brandable) — 4.0×. 9 HotFriday.com $3,799 (Atom.com) — 3.4×. 9 Realistic exit: $3,750–$5,000 on Afternic, with direct outreach to craft chocolate operators, Vermont-region food brands, or CPG companies for whom the geographic-brand combination is genuinely useful.
- Suggested bid ceiling: $1,670 ($1,113 × 1.5)
- Resale channel: Afternic BIN at $3,750–$5,000; direct outreach to craft chocolate, Vermont food brands, specialty confectionery operators
- Flip timeline: 18 months
- Confidence: High — 27-year CDX age, Dmoz listed, 348 BL, clean TM, 6 competitive bids, three comps at 3.4–4.2×
MooseValley.com — ~$69 · NameJet · 27 years old
Pattern: Two-word outdoor/lifestyle brandable .com. 8 bidders. TM low-risk.
Registered 1999 — 27 years, confirmed via WHOIS. 14 TM screening: descriptive marks in unrelated classes found, no exact "Moose Valley" compound registration blocking generic use. 15 Shane Cultra on DSAD: "Only 8 bidders. I would drink this IPA." 1 Eight people at a $69 floor is a genuine signal in the NameJet context.
The breadth of use cases is the argument. Craft beverage (IPA, seasonal ale, lodge-branded spirits), outdoor recreation (guided wildlife tours, backcountry lodges, trail networks), resort naming, or regional destination brand — "Moose Valley" delivers geography and character without being tied to a specific company or city. That generality is a feature, not a flaw, in the wholesale domain market.
Comps from the current DNJournal window: CoinShows.com $8,450 (two-word geographic+category, Atom.com) — well above this tier. More relevant floor comp: ThriftHawk.com $2,298 (Atom.com) — 33× vs $69. 9 CoreCopy.com $3,750 (two-word Atom.com) — 54×. 9 Realistic exit: $1,500–$3,000 on Afternic, with optional outbound to craft beverage operators at 6 months.
Note: Bid unconfirmed due to NameJet Cloudflare wall — assumed floor $69 per DSAD. Verify live price before bidding.
- Suggested bid ceiling: $104 ($69 × 1.5)
- Resale channel: Afternic BIN at $1,500–$3,000; direct outreach to craft beverage brands, lodge/resort operators, or outdoor recreation companies if passive listing stalls
- Flip timeline: 18 months
- Confidence: High — 27-year WHOIS age, low TM risk, 8 NameJet bidders at floor, two comps at 33–54×
Maximation.com — ~$69 · NameJet · 29 years old
Pattern: Portmanteau brandable .com ("max" + "maximization"). Consulting/optimization niche. TM clean.
Registered 1997 — 29 years, the oldest domain in today's screen. 16 No conflicting marks found on Justia for "maximation." 17 Shane Cultra on DSAD: "Fun brand and easier to say than Maximization." 1
The coinage is legitimate: "Maximation" is short, pronounceable across language groups, and carries an obvious semantic payload — maximizing something — without the clinical stiffness of "MaxOpt" or "OptimizePro." Consulting firms, performance analytics platforms, and yield-management software companies are the natural buyer set. At 29 years old on a .com with no TM exposure at a $69 floor, this is the kind of name that gets picked up by a portfolio holder and flips quietly to an end-user two years later.
Comps: FinanceMind.com $2,638 (finance two-word brandable, Atom.com) — 38× vs $69. 9 Reactly.com $5,815 (6-letter brandable, Sedo) — 84×. 9 Realistic exit: $1,500–$3,000 on Sedo or Afternic, with a 5-year hold ceiling for the right end-user transaction.
Bid unconfirmed — NameJet Cloudflare wall active. Verify live price before bidding.
- Suggested bid ceiling: $104 ($69 × 1.5)
- Resale channel: Sedo or Afternic BIN at $1,500–$3,000; direct outbound to consulting firms, analytics platforms, performance optimization software at 12+ months
- Flip timeline: 18 months–5-year hold
- Confidence: High — 29-year WHOIS age, clean TM, Shane editorial mention, two comps at 38–84×
Coin-flip pick
gibchess.com — $1,331 · GoDaddy · 10 years old
Pattern: Niche gaming/chess brandable .com. 19 bidders. 221 backlinks. Strong link profile.
CDX first archive August 10, 2016 — 10 years confirmed. 18 No marks for "gibchess" on Justia — TM clean. 19 DSAD editorial pick from Shane Cultra on June 21: "Gibraltar chess tournament — already has brand recognition in the chess community." 1 19 bids at $1,331 is the highest contest level in today's screen — this is not flying under the radar.
The Gibraltar Chess Festival is a real, well-established annual tournament. "GibChess" is the established community shorthand. 221 Majestic backlinks and 58 SEOkicks domain pop confirm the domain carried genuine web authority during its active life — not a parking page, an actual chess property. That's the long case: a chess organization, streaming platform, or community publisher wants the brand equity baked into those 221 links.
The short case is harder. 19 bids have already driven the price to $1,331. The buyer pool for a chess-specific domain is narrow by definition; Chess.com dominates the category and would be the most logical acquirer, but there's no evidence they're active in this auction. Without a clear end-user lead, this is a patient capital play at best.
Comp: GamePult.com $3,900 (Atom.com, niche gaming brandable) — 2.9× vs $1,331. 9 That's a thin 3× multiple at a single comp. Realistic exit: $3,500–$5,000 only with the right buyer (chess organization, event operator, streaming rights holder).
Before bidding: The narrow buyer pool and thin comp coverage are what push this to coin-flip despite the strong link profile and bid count. If you have an end-user lead in the chess world, this moves toward high-confidence. Without one, you're holding a specific asset in a small market.
- Suggested bid ceiling: $1,997 ($1,331 × 1.5)
- Resale channel: Direct outreach to chess organizations, tournament operators, chess streaming platforms (Chess.com, Chess24, Lichess sponsors); Afternic as secondary passive listing
- Flip timeline: 18 months–5-year hold
- Confidence: Coin-flip — strong links and 19 bids, but narrow buyer pool, thin comp coverage, and entry price compresses the return window

Market notes
DropCatch pending. This is the platform's first session after a two-day weekend closure — Monday pools typically run larger due to backlog accumulation. 3 Results were not published to DomainGang by the 4:00 PM ET research cutoff. Historical Monday posts from June have come through between 15:48 and 16:41 ET. If a strong pick surfaces before the article goes live, treat it as supplemental — the five picks above stand on their own without DropCatch.
NameJet wall regression. The Cloudflare block that lifted June 21 (Day 4) regressed on June 22. Both NameJet picks today are sourced from Shane Cultra's DSAD list and carry WHOIS-confirmed ages, but live bid data is unavailable. The $69 floor assumption may be stale — several DSAD NameJet picks from this week ultimately cleared well above floor by the time the wall came back down.
New TM knockout. BotHouse.com (previously unscreened) carries a live BOT HOUSE mark filed January 2026 by OpenArt AI. 1 Added to the cumulative knockout list. The mark is only six months old — a reminder that fast-moving AI companies are filing brand protection at registration speed.
Sedo GreatDomains — final stretch. Three days remain on the June auction. Overall.com and DML.com are both well short of their $100K–$250K reserves. 8 A sub-reserve close on both would be a concrete data point that curated premium .com buyers are demanding better pricing than sellers are currently prepared to accept.
Hurt.com context. At $337,000 and climbing, it has now likely surpassed Pedal.com ($121,000) as this week's top wholesale transaction — if the bids hold. 1 The 2023 sale at $1.5M establishes the ceiling; the current bid establishes the floor for this cohort of buyers. The gap between those two numbers is where the personal injury law firm's marketing budget calculation lives, not a domain investor's flip thesis.
