Liverpool started with a nine-minute burst. Alexander Isak scored twice inside the opening nine minutes of Liverpool's 2-0 win at Ipswich, with Cody Gakpo supplying both assists. Manager Andoni Iraola described a strong first half built on high pressing, followed by a controlled second half and solid defending. Bradley Barcola made his Liverpool debut from the bench after a long period without competitive minutes. 5

The win gives Liverpool five points from three matches and a clear attacking reference point. Isak finished the chances quickly, while Gakpo also showed the value of a forward who can create and then move into the centre to help close out a match. Manchester City kept winning through a narrow margin. City beat Coventry 1-0 through Haaland's header. The official Premier League wrap also records three major saves from Gianluigi Donnarumma, including one made with his face, before Haaland finished a move involving Antoine Semenyo and Oscar Fernandez. The scoreline matters because City and Arsenal are level on nine points and plus-five goal difference. City's perfect record survived a match that asked more of its goalkeeper than the first two wins did.
