SpaceX completes its acquisition of Cursor

SpaceX has completed its acquisition of Cursor. Cursor says the deal gives it access to SpaceX's compute infrastructure and should help it build stronger, cheaper-to-run models. The company cites Grok 4.6 as an early result of the collaboration. 1

TechCrunch reports that an April agreement gave SpaceX an option to acquire Cursor for $60 billion. Cursor's closure post does not disclose the final purchase price or an integration schedule. 2

Alibaba told Bloomberg that Qwen models passed three billion global downloads in six months. Hugging Face's separate summer report counts about 2.061 billion Qwen downloads during 2026 under its own methodology, plus 151,448 derivative repositories—2.6 times Meta's footprint on the Hub. Hugging Face cautions that downloads measure Hub activity, not market share or model quality. 34
