The latest official EmergencyInfoBC listings available for this briefing still show an expanded evacuation order for the Big Bar Lake and Meadow Lake areas in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District and an evacuation order for the Bowers Lake Fire Area in the Cariboo Regional District. World
The main new overnight development is the widening impact on water and air infrastructure in the U.S.-Iran conflict. CNN’s live update, posted at 2:58 a.m. PDT, said the United States had completed a seventh consecutive night of strikes on Iran. It reported that a southern Iranian desalination plant was damaged, according to Hormozgan’s deputy governor, leaving 20 villages without water; CNN said it was seeking a U.S. response. 4
Kuwait said an Iranian attack hit a power-generation and desalination plant and started a fire. CNN also reported that Bahrain said its air defences intercepted multiple Iranian attacks, while Kuwait issued seven warnings over 12 hours and rescheduled most Saturday flights after closing its airspace. Iranian claims about strikes on U.S. facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait were not independently verified by CNN. 4
Separately, Reuters reported that Russian attacks on Ukraine’s Black Sea ports killed three people, damaged three foreign-flagged civilian vessels in Mykolaiv and hit a Marshall Islands-flagged vessel in the Odesa region. Four of that vessel’s 17 crew members were injured and the crew was evacuated, according to Odesa’s regional governor. The casualty and damage details were attributed to Ukrainian officials; Russia’s Defence Ministry said it struck port facilities. 5
