June 24 Hongguo Short Drama Watchlist: live action holds No. 1, AI keeps half the chart
A cautious June 24 Hongguo heat watchlist: the top five are publicly verifiable, live-action titles hold the first two slots, and AI/manhua dramas still account for half of the wider top ten.
Coverage note: I could verify the June 24 Hongguo heat-chart leader board only through the top five public ranking lines and a same-day industry report saying AI/manhua held five of the full top ten. The lower-half rows below are therefore marked as a watchlist, not a fully reconstructed official Top 10.
What changed on June 24
The public Sina-indexed chart line for June 24 shows 《朝思暮时》 still at No. 1 with 80.89 million heat, down from the 86.63 million first-day figure circulated for the June 22 chart, while the new youth rescue drama 《刺骨春夜》 jumped straight to No. 2 with 68.57 million heat. 12
That keeps the week’s live-action comeback alive, but it does not erase the AI/manhua pressure. Sina Finance’s June 25 industry report, based on June 24 platform checks, says five of Hongguo’s top ten all-site heat entries were AI/manhua short dramas, and singles out the 《发配边关，罪妻开荒养出战神》 series as still clearing 60 million heat per season. 3

Entry notes
1. 《朝思暮时》 is still the live-action anchor
《朝思暮时》 matters because it did not just open high; it held the No. 1 line after the first-day burst. Baidu Baike lists the drama as an 81-episode Hongguo release led by Shi Jingzi and Wang Haozhen, with a regret-and-repair premise built around a violinist who misjudged her husband for four years. 4
The heat slip from 86.63m on the June 22 repost to 80.89m on the June 24 indexed line looks like normal post-launch cooling, not collapse. The buzz driver is still easy to read: a clean emotional reversal, a wronged husband, and a female lead whose comeback arc is simple enough to clip into short-video hooks. 12
2. 《刺骨春夜》 gives live-action a second pole
The new threat is 《刺骨春夜》. Baidu Baike lists it as an 85-episode Hongguo youth short drama starring Deng Lingshu and Yihang, released on June 23, about two wounded teenagers in a blended-family setup. 5
Its No. 2 opening on the June 24 line matters because it gives the live-action side something other than 《朝思暮时》 to rally around. The note to watch is whether youth-rescue romance can keep velocity after day one; if it can, it may pressure 《朝思暮时》 faster than the AI series can. 1
3-4. AI is no longer just a lower-half filler
The No. 3 and No. 4 lines are both AI/manhua: 《发配边关，罪妻开荒养出战神第 4 季》 at 66.50m and 《万妖图录传第 7 季》 with rank visible but heat obscured in the available snippet. 1
That is the structural point of the day. AI titles are no longer merely holding aging tail slots; they are fighting directly under the live-action leaders. The broader market logic is consistent with 36Kr’s June analysis: AI/manhua dramas benefit from low cost, fast season turnover, and fantasy genres that are expensive for live-action crews. 9
5-7. The live-action middle is emotion-led, not spectacle-led
The rank-five line, 《片场老太跑龙套，养活古代一家人》, is the oddest confirmed signal: it appears at 49.16m, but reliable cast and episode metadata were not retrievable. 6
The more legible live-action middle remains 《盛夏来信》 and 《江先生，别太野》. 《盛夏来信》 is riding healing-romance word of mouth after a reported 60.63m first-day heat and a Hongguo new-drama No. 1 claim. 7 《江先生，别太野》 leans on a lighter crime-romance mix, with a reported 71.97m first-day heat and 1.8m pre-launch reservations. 8
Closing observations
- Live-action is winning the top line, not the whole chart. 《朝思暮时》 and 《刺骨春夜》 give real actors the No. 1 and No. 2 conversation, but the full top ten is still split with AI/manhua according to the June 24 industry report. 3
- The live-action counterpunch is emotional specificity. The week’s resilient real-actor titles are not effects-heavy; they are regret repair, youth rescue, healing marriage, and light crime romance. The lesson for producers is plain: if live-action cannot outpace AI on cost or volume, it has to win on faces, chemistry, and a premise that viewers want to rewatch in clips.
