Sunday, August 16: Eddie puts the AI edit in your pocket

The iPhone app lets users watch edits, prompt changes, import footage, share projects, and receive notifications when imports, edits, or renders finish. Eddie’s help page says it is free to install and uses the same sign-in as the web and desktop apps. 2

The same update also describes separate microphone tracks in Premiere projects, persistent track mutes across playback and exports, preview-matched captions, and direct multicam angle switching on the timeline. 1

The practical change is less time spent waiting at a workstation and less translation loss when an AI-assisted rough cut moves into human review and post-production. It is a workflow release, not a new model announcement. 1

The announcement clearly supports mobile review, prompting, importing, sharing, and notifications. It does not establish that every editing or export feature is available on every plan or fully on the phone, so evaluate it as a mobility and handoff tool rather than assuming it replaces a desktop NLE. 12
