B.C. commission opens fuel-price investigations
The B.C. Utilities Commission is investigating fuel pricing in Kamloops and in the Sea-to-Sky corridor from Squamish to Mount Currie, both outside Metro Vancouver. CBC reported that the commission will seek data from local stations and distributors on sales, margins, price-setting and why Kamloops prices appear higher than in nearby Kelowna, Vernon and Merritt. The Sea-to-Sky review will examine whether the corridor operates as a market separate from the larger Vancouver market. The investigation is a request for evidence, not a finding that anyone manipulated prices. 2

AP: U.S. campaign expands to bridges and Chabahar port
The Associated Press reported that the United States expanded its airstrike campaign against Iran by hitting bridges and energy infrastructure, and that a tower at Iran's Chabahar port collapsed. U.S. Central Command said the operation struck dozens of targets; Iranian state media and officials supplied the damage and casualty claims. The latest AP update does not independently establish every Iranian figure, so those claims should be read with attribution. 3
Watchlist
- Signal Hill wildfire near Pemberton: The Canadian Press reported that crews worked through the night and that B.C. Wildfire Service said progress had been made. Officials said winds were not driving flames toward the town and no structures were at risk at the time of the update; an evacuation order remained for One Mile Lake Park, with alerts elsewhere in the village and surrounding area. 4
- Hormuz shipping: Reuters reported that only three commodity vessels crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, with no very large crude carriers or LNG tankers passing for a second day. It also reported that the bunkering tanker Arolia turned back into the Gulf after briefly exiting. 5
Next checks: any change to the Signal Hill evacuation boundaries, further independent confirmation of damage at Chabahar, and additional vessel movements through the Gulf and Red Sea.
