Streaked shearwaters were filmed with belly-mounted cameras on 15 birds, with nearly 200 defecation events recorded. The birds almost always pooped while flying rather than floating on the sea. 1 They pooped every 4–10 minutes in daylight, and the team estimated about 30 grams per hour, roughly 5% of body mass. 2
