NBA Daily Digest: Warriors win Summer League, Dort trade reshapes three teams

The Golden State Warriors won the 2026 Las Vegas Summer League championship, rallying from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Memphis Grizzlies 94-90. Golden State forward Yaxel Lendeborg scored nine of his 21 points in the final period, added 10 rebounds and two steals, and was named championship-game MVP. The result gives the Warriors their second Summer League title and their first since 2013. 1

Memphis forward Cameron Boozer finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Grizzlies forward Cedric Coward also scored 19, while Golden State guard Deivon Smith supplied 21 points and nine rebounds off the bench. The Warriors won the rebounding battle 42-33 and scored 52 points in the paint, with the fourth-quarter turnaround deciding a game that was tied at halftime. 23

Golden State's edge widened in the last period: the Warriors held a 16-4 rebounding advantage in the fourth, and Lendeborg collected seven of his 10 boards in that quarter. The comeback was built on extra possessions and late shotmaking rather than a large overall shooting gap; Golden State finished at 49% from the field, Memphis at 45%. 34

Only three games were played on the last day in Las Vegas. Brooklyn and Denver closed their Summer League runs with wins before Golden State and Memphis played for the title. 2

The final standings placed Golden State at 5-1, Memphis at 4-2, and the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs at 4-1. Golden State and Memphis were the two semifinal winners; the Lakers and Spurs were the best records among the teams that did not reach the final. 5

The Oklahoma City Thunder sent guard Lu Dort to the Atlanta Hawks in a three-team trade completed Sunday. Atlanta also received Dallas guard Ryan Nembhard. The Dallas Mavericks acquired forward Zaccharie Risacher, the 2024 No. 1 pick, plus a protected 2027 second-round pick from Atlanta. Oklahoma City received three future second-round picks. 67

The basketball fit is straightforward. Atlanta adds a 27-year-old All-Defensive wing to a group that includes Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Dallas gets another former No. 1 pick to join Cooper Flagg and Kyrie Irving, and Oklahoma City turns Dort's $17.7 million team option into draft capital while moving below the second apron. NBA.com said the Thunder's package includes second-round picks from Chicago via Dallas and Atlanta in 2031 and 2032. 6

The final-day reports did not add a new confirmed injury or player-availability change. With the Las Vegas event complete, the July 20 ESPN scoreboard lists no NBA games, and there is no regular-season or playoff slate for the next local morning. 8

The NBA's 2026-27 key-dates page lists Hall of Fame weekend as the next dated league event after Summer League, followed by the October preseason games in Macao. For NBA fans, the immediate watch is therefore the offseason market rather than a game: Atlanta's new defensive wing, Dallas' reshaped young core and Oklahoma City's continued draft-pick accumulation. 9
