The Bus Came When It Came

A four-card memory atlas of a composite 1990s suburban Toronto childhood, circa 1992–1998.

The route starts at the enclosed mall and its food court, then runs through the bus loop, community-centre rink, corner store, video rental, library branch, pizza plaza, schoolyard, and little-league field. The signature stop is the orange-chair food court on a Saturday afternoon. The pocket relic is a Tamagotchi, clipped to a chain and checked between bus rides. The last card holds the short November hour after school: first snow, wet pavement, and the bus finally turning the corner.
