Seven rounds announced between September 14 and September 20, 2026, carry confirmed participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, Y Combinator or Founders Fund, and $5.15 billion was disclosed across those rounds. Six have closed. Angle Health's $600 million package is announced and expected to close later this month.
The money split in two directions. Crusoe's $3.9 billion Series F supplies most of the week, and the rest went to companies selling AI software to large enterprises and health benefits to small employers. Andreessen Horowitz appears in three of the seven rounds, Sequoia Capital in three, Y Combinator in one and Founders Fund in one.

AI data centers and power

Crusoe: $3.9 billion, and the power plant behind it

Crusoe announced the initial closing of a $3.9 billion Series F on September 17, at a $30.9 billion post-money valuation. Atreides Management, Mubadala Capital and Valor Equity Partners co-led the round. Founders Fund joined GIC, Nvidia, Qatar Investment Authority, Radical Ventures and TPG among the new and existing investors. 1
The company builds data centers and secures the generation that feeds them, a model it calls energy-first. It reports more than $140 billion in total contracted value and over 6 gigawatts of gross contracted capacity, of which 1 gigawatt is built and operating. 1
Its modular product, Crusoe Spark, is a data center manufactured in the United States and moved by truck to an existing power source, which the company says cuts field construction from years to weeks. Cognition, Figure and Perplexity run on Crusoe Cloud, and OpenAI trained its Astra model at the Abilene, Texas campus Crusoe designed and built. 1
The valuation step is the largest of the week. Crusoe raised $1.38 billion at a $10 billion valuation in October 2025, ten months before this round. 8

Enterprise AI software

Temporal: $550 million at a $12.55 billion valuation

Temporal raised $550 million, more than doubling its valuation to $12.55 billion from $5 billion in February. Lightspeed Venture Partners led, with Wellington Management, Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives and Tiger Global joining as co-leads. Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia Capital returned as investors, and SV Angel and accounts advised by T. Rowe Price Associates also participated. 2
Temporal's open-source engine keeps long-running software alive through failures, retrying steps and restoring state without engineers writing custom recovery code. That job matters more as AI agents run for hours and touch systems of record. Temporal Cloud has more than 4,300 customers, among them OpenAI, Netflix, Nvidia, Snap and JPMorgan Chase, and the company's annualized revenue run rate passed $250 million, more than tripling year over year. 2
For scale, AI companies accounted for 86% of U.S. venture deal value in the first half of 2026, according to the PitchBook-NVCA Venture Monitor cited in the same Reuters report. 2

Factory: $200 million at a $5 billion valuation

Factory raised $200 million at a $5 billion valuation on September 15, five months after a $150 million round at $1.5 billion. Blackstone, Khosla Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Insight Partners, Evantic Capital, Sound Ventures, NEA, Mantis VC and Clearlake backed the financing, taking total funding past $400 million. 3
The company sells AI coding agents it calls Droids, which build, test and maintain software for enterprise engineering teams, and it routes each task to the model that handles it most cheaply. Nvidia, Blackstone, Royal Bank of Canada, Palo Alto Networks, Adobe and T-Mobile are customers, and the platform deploys in the cloud, on premises or inside air-gapped networks. 3

Profound: $180 million at a $1.8 billion valuation, co-led by Sequoia

Profound raised a $180 million Series D co-led by Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins at a $1.8 billion valuation, less than seven months after a $96 million Series C. Existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, Saga Ventures, Evantic and South Park Commons participated. 59
Profound measures what AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity say about a brand, a practice marketers call answer-engine optimization, and then sells agents that act on what it finds. The company reports more than 1,000 enterprise brands and more than a third of the Fortune 100 as customers, and it is expanding an applied AI lab that will post-train models for marketing work. Sequoia partner Anas Biad and Kleiner Perkins partner Ilya Fushman both tied the round to the shift of search and discovery onto AI interfaces. 5

Healthcare and benefits

Thatch: $108 million at a $1 billion valuation

Thatch raised $108 million at a $1 billion valuation from existing investors The General Partnership, Index Ventures, General Catalyst and Andreessen Horowitz, 17 months after a $40 million Series B at a $410 million valuation. 6
The company administers individual coverage health reimbursement arrangements, a structure created by federal regulation in 2020 that lets an employer fund each employee's own insurance plan instead of buying one group plan for everyone. Thatch says its annual recurring revenue grew about sevenfold, against a market where employer healthcare costs for 2027 are projected to rise more than 8%, the largest increase since 2003. 6

Angle Health: $600 million at a $2.7 billion valuation

Angle Health announced a $600 million equity financing at a $2.7 billion valuation on September 18, made up of a $200 million Series C and a $400 million tender offer that lets employees sell part of their holdings. Vitruvian Partners led. Town Hall Ventures joined as a new investor, and Blumberg Capital, Portage Ventures, PruVen Capital and Y Combinator participated as existing backers. The company expects the round to close later this month. 410
Angle Health, a winter 2020 Y Combinator company, sells level-funded health plans, under which an employer pays a predictable monthly amount to a carrier, is insured against high costs, and receives a share of the surplus when claims stay low. It reports more than 5,000 employer customers, plans available in 47 states, 120% year-over-year growth and four consecutive profitable quarters, and says its median renewal increase ran 5% to 7% against 18% for small and midsize businesses. 4

Ferry Health: $9 million out of stealth for appointment booking

Ferry Health came out of stealth with $9 million in seed funding from Andreessen Horowitz, Index Ventures and other backers. 7
Brothers Mehul and Keyur Mehta started the company in 2024 with their friend Andrew Buie, after the two brothers spent weeks calling clinics by hand to arrange specialist appointments for their father following a hospitalization. Ferry's agents now make those calls, weighing insurance, subspecialty, whether a provider accepts new patients and availability, and passing a case to a human when it stalls. Health systems, payers and care navigation platforms have put more than a million patients within reach of the service. 7
a16z general partner Vineeta Agarwala, a practicing physician and an early backer of Ferry, described the referral problem from the clinician's side: sending a patient to another department in the same organization is already hard, and the resulting phone traffic lands on front desks. Mehul Mehta previously worked at a16z. 7

Portfolio liquidity and exit watch

This section tracks value moving inside the four firms' existing holdings. The window's exit activity was secondary-market and IPO-timing news rather than a completed sale.

SpaceX: Valor hands its investors stock instead of cash

Valor Equity Partners distributed 8.5% of its SpaceX holdings to its own limited partners, about $8.5 billion by Bloomberg's estimate, while keeping more than 460 million shares, according to an SEC filing. The transfer may carry a tax advantage for those investors, and it keeps a large block of shares off the open market for a stock with a small free float. SpaceX has fallen about 10% from its first-day close. 11
SpaceX remains the largest single venture position of this cycle for two of the four firms. Founders Fund owns a 3% stake, estimated at more than $50 billion at the $135 IPO price, while Sequoia's holding was valued above $20 billion and Andreessen Horowitz's above $10 billion. 12

Anthropic: an IPO that keeps sliding later

Anthropic is weighing the release of a new model ahead of an expected IPO, and could push the listing past the November US midterm elections, with marketing expected to begin in mid-October at the earliest, according to Reuters. OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra has taken enterprise share since its September 3 launch, which is part of what the timing is negotiating. 13
Sequoia Capital co-led Anthropic's $65 billion Series H in May at a $965 billion post-money valuation, the round that put the company ahead of OpenAI on private-market value. 14

Digest notes

  • One round is three-quarters of the week. Crusoe's $3.9 billion is 76% of the $5.15 billion confirmed total. The other six rounds average $208 million apiece.
  • Sequoia's week ran down one stack. Durable execution, coding agents and marketing agents are three layers of enterprise AI software, and Temporal, Factory and Profound each raised at a step-up within a year of their previous round.
  • Two benefits platforms are pricing the same cost problem. Thatch administers individual-coverage plans and Angle Health sells level-funded plans to small employers. Both companies rest their growth case on employer healthcare costs rising faster than at any point since 2003.
  • Employee liquidity is now a line item in the round. Angle Health paired a $200 million primary raise with a $400 million tender offer, twice the size of the new money. Valor's SpaceX distribution applies the same idea one level up, at the fund's own investors.

Coverage note

This issue covers financing announcements and corporate developments dated September 14–20, 2026. The confirmed total counts rounds announced inside that window with named participation from Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, Y Combinator or Founders Fund: $5.15 billion across seven rounds, six of them closed and one, Angle Health, announced with an expected close later this month. Secondary transactions, tender offers, share distributions, IPO timing, and rounds whose participant lists name no tracked firm are labeled separately and left out of the total.
