AI tools give agents their own memory, machines, and budget

A seven-theme scan of 17 newly released and trending AI tools from GitHub and Product Hunt, covering agent memory stores, agents that rent their own machines and accounts, runtime security checks, typed answers, connector-free software access, document surfaces, and generated worlds.

New AI Tools Weekly
New AI Tools Weekly@NeoDrop Official
This issue covers AI tools that launched or gained traction between September 21 and September 27, 2026. Across those seven days the releases kept returning to one move: they hand the agent something a person used to hold for it. A memory store it owns. A machine, an account and a balance it can spend. A security check it runs on its own work. An answer shaped so a program can verify it. A command surface for software nobody wrote a connector for. A document it can edit by cell. A world that keeps generating while you move through it.
GitHub Trending supplied the momentum signal, through weekly star counts across all languages, Python and TypeScript. 1 Product Hunt supplied the launch signal, and its weekly leaderboard for September 21–27 was readable this run, so the ranks below are the board's own positions. 2 The board's window closes on September 27, the last day of this issue's own window, so the week is covered end to end. X search was supplementary, and it returned general commentary and event promotion, so no item in this issue rests on it.
The 17 tools below sit in seven themes. Each entry gives the discovery signal, the access and pricing model, what the tool mechanically does, the closest alternative it differs from, and a bounded first test.

A memory store the agent owns

Agent memory usually means the conversation still sitting in the context window. Three releases this week put the store somewhere else: on your own infrastructure, on the phone you already carry, or behind one API that a company signs off on.
ToolCurrent signalAccess / pricingWhat it doesDifferentiationTry-it test
Hindsight (vectorize-io)GitHub Trending weekly: +11,089 stars (38.8k total) — the largest weekly gain on the all-language board. 3MIT licence. Free to self-host with docker run or pip install hindsight-api. Hindsight Cloud is the hosted option, billed by usage with free credits to start and no per-seat fee. 3An agent memory system built on three operations over a store called a bank: retain to write, recall to search, and reflect to produce a disposition-aware answer. It separates memory types, keeps observations and mental models alongside raw records, and reaches an agent as an MCP server, a two-line wrapper around an OpenAI client, or a plain Python or Node SDK. 3Retrieval over documents returns passages. Hindsight's unit is an addressed memory with a type, held in a server you can point any client at, which is what makes it a store rather than a prompt trick. 3Run the Docker image on one machine, retain twenty facts about a small project, then ask for a summary of one person who appears in only some of them. The failure to watch is a confident reflect answer that merges two entities together.
HemoryProduct Hunt weekly leaderboard, September 21–27: rank 11, tagged Productivity, Artificial Intelligence and Audio. 2Freemium. A free trial covers 10 hours of listening; then Starter at $10/mo for 20 hours, Pro at $20/mo for 60 hours and Max at $50/mo for unlimited listening under a 24-hour daily cap. The quota counts only detected speech. 4Records the day through the phone or watch you already carry, splits it into moments with people and times attached, and exposes the result to an agent over MCP as a search_memory tool. iOS and Android apps are out; macOS, Windows, Linux, web and a self-hosted build are listed as coming. Audio is processed as a stream and the raw recording stays on the listening device. 4A transcription app keeps the transcript in its own interface and answers you there. Hemory's record is addressed to Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Cursor, VS Code and other MCP clients, so the recall happens inside the tool you already work in. 4Listen for one working day in manual mode, then ask your agent what a named colleague committed to. The claim to check is attribution: whether the retrieved moment names the right person on the right day.
NOANProduct Hunt weekly leaderboard, September 21–27: rank 15, tagged API, Developer Tools and Artificial Intelligence. 2Paid, priced per fact; the site states that everything is free except the facts and publishes no price list. 5A fact layer for a company. Each fact is approved, versioned and served from one API, and the API and MCP server feed the same facts to any model, app or agent. The facts build a company graph, and a voice agent called Verity reads a website and draws the first version of that graph for you. 5Agent memory collects what a model picked up along the way, and NOAN's own wording is that nobody signed off on it. NOAN's unit is a fact a person approved and versioned, which is the version a sales or finance workflow can defend in front of a customer. 5Put one claim your team repeats in decks — a pricing tier, a customer count — into NOAN, then ask two different agents to state it. The test is whether both agents say the same thing after you change the fact once.
Hindsight is the one to self-host when you want the memory to be a database you control. Hemory turns your spoken day into source material for that database, and asks you to accept an always-on microphone for it. NOAN asks a person to approve each fact first, which is what a team needs before an agent is allowed to answer a customer.

Agents that get their own machines, accounts and budget

Both entries here treat the agent as something that spends money, and both start from the same wall: a job that needs a server, a login or a card stops and waits for a person. Paperclip puts the spending inside an org chart. Solid issues the agent its own devices and accounts, then lets it pay.
ToolCurrent signalAccess / pricingWhat it doesDifferentiationTry-it test
Paperclip (paperclipai)GitHub Trending weekly: +7,364 stars (91k total) — second on the all-language board and first on TypeScript. 6MIT licence, self-hosted, no Paperclip account required; installs from a shell script. 6A Node.js server and React UI that runs a team of AI agents the way a company is run. You define the goal, hire agents into roles — CEO, CTO, engineer, designer, marketer — from any provider, set budgets and approval rules, and watch work and cost from one dashboard. Paperclip's own line is that if OpenClaw is an employee, Paperclip is the company. 6A single-agent runner or a chat client manages one task at a time. Paperclip's unit is the goal plus the org around it, with budgets, governance and cost attribution attached. 6Give it a goal you can measure in a week and two agents, and set a spend cap below what you are willing to lose. The test is whether the dashboard can trace one charge back to the task that caused it.
SolidProduct Hunt weekly leaderboard, September 21–27: rank 4, tagged Productivity, Artificial Intelligence and Development. 2Paid. Three monthly subscriptions — Starter at $40, Pro at $160 and Max at $640 — and the full amount lands in a balance that AI usage, infrastructure and the agent's own purchases all draw from, with no separate markup. 7Agents that provision their own Windows, macOS or Linux machines and phones, open their own Google and Apple accounts, and sign up and pay for services inside the budget and approval rules you set. An agent can also bring in other Solid agents or Codex and Claude Code sessions, split the work and return one checked result. The team raised $6M on the idea and points to users running codebases of 300,000 lines. 78A coding-agent console runs work you have already set up, on a machine you already own. Solid's unit is a finished job, and the agent buys whatever the job needs to get there. 7Send a job that needs an account you do not have, with the approval rule set to ask first, and read which purchases it requests. The test is whether each request names the step that needs it.
Paperclip is for a team that wants the org and the cost model, and is willing to run the server. Solid is for a team that wants the job done and would rather pay a subscription that carries the machine and the card. The two place the agent's authority in different places, and the choice between them follows from which one you can revoke faster.

The security check inside the agent's own loop

Security for agent work splits into two layers this week. One inspects the code the agent produced, and ends in findings a pipeline can read. The other inspects the request while the application is making it.
ToolCurrent signalAccess / pricingWhat it doesDifferentiationTry-it test
security-audit-skill (Cloudflare)GitHub Trending weekly: +4,805 stars (22.5k total) — fourth on the all-language board. 9MIT licence. Free; the skill is a directory of instructions and scripts you install into an agent that supports skills. 9An agent skill that runs a six-phase audit: reconnaissance written into architecture.md and coverage-ledger.json; coverage-led hunting with isolated hunters and coverage critics; candidate validation, where a fresh verifier tries to disprove each finding; structured output into findings.json validated against a report schema; independent verification of the surviving records; and reports derived from the verified records. Two Node scripts validate the coverage ledger and the findings file. Cloudflare says the skill is the single-repository starting point its internal vulnerability harness grew out of. 9Asking an agent to review code for security issues produces prose. This skill produces a coverage ledger and a findings file whose entries carry confirmed, needs_validation or rejected verdicts, which is the shape automation can gate on. 9Point it at a repository where you already know one real vulnerability, and read where that finding lands. The failures worth catching are a confirmed finding whose source trace is incomplete, and a real issue filed under needs_validation.
ArcjetProduct Hunt weekly leaderboard, September 21–27: rank 5, tagged Developer Tools, SDK and Security. 2Paid, with a 15-day trial and no free plan published. Individual at $25/mo, Startup at $299/mo, Enterprise custom, plus usage at $5 per million web requests and $50 per million agent requests. 10A runtime security SDK that ships inside your AI application: it detects prompt injection, authorises agent tool calls, redacts sensitive data, and blocks bots and abuse. Arcjet's own description is that these are security building blocks you call inside your app before an action happens. 11A firewall in front of your infrastructure sees a request, and a platform-level bot filter sees a source. This runs as code you call inside your own request path, so it can see which agent is asking for which tool. 11Call it on one route an agent can reach, then send a request that asks for a tool that agent should not have. The test is whether the denial is logged with enough detail to reconstruct which agent made the call.
Take the Cloudflare skill when the question is what is already wrong in the repository, because its output survives a review meeting. Take Arcjet when the question is what an agent is about to do, because the only place that can be answered is inside the request itself.

Answers a program can check

Prose resists validation. Three releases this week constrain what a model is allowed to return: a typed decision with a probability attached, a proof the compiler has to accept, and a component list it cannot step outside.
ToolCurrent signalAccess / pricingWhat it doesDifferentiationTry-it test
Jev (TypeSafe AI)Product Hunt weekly leaderboard, September 21–27: rank 2, tagged API, Developer Tools and Artificial Intelligence. 2Free Options, open to everyone at console.typesafe.ai with no waitlist. 12A model that returns typed decisions where a language model returns text: Choice, Score and Noul answers carrying calibrated probabilities your code acts on. Parallel sampling puts responses at roughly 70–500 ms, and the vendor says output tokens are free. 12A general model answers with a paragraph a parser has to interpret. Jev answers with the choice and the probability of it, which is what a policy threshold can be written against. TypeSafe's claimed 20–200× speed and 40–400× cost advantage over comparable LLM workflows are the vendor's own figures. 12Point it at one routing or moderation decision you already make with a prompt, and compare the two on the same 200 inputs. The number that matters is how often Jev's probability sits near 0.5, where the decision is a coin toss either way.
Bend 2 (bendlang)GitHub Trending weekly: +958 stars (23k total). 13Apache-2.0. Free; installs from a shell script on bend-lang.com. 13A programming language whose compiler demands a mathematical proof when your code is edited. You declare rules in a LAWS.bend file — the README's example is a game with one law, that winning is impossible — and the compiler keeps those laws holding, refusing a change that breaks one. It also verifies proofs itself, and runs the same program across CPU cores and GPU cores without threads or kernels. 13A test suite checks the cases somebody thought to write. A law is checked against every case the compiler can construct. For agent-written code the practical effect is that a plausible edit gets refused at compile time, while you are still looking at the diff. 13Write one law your application must never break, then ask an agent to add a feature that breaks it. The test is whether the compiler refuses the change and names the law it refused on.
json-render (Vercel Labs)GitHub Trending weekly: +1,210 stars (18.4k total). 14Apache-2.0. Free; npm install @json-render/core plus a renderer for the target — React, shadcn/ui, React Native, React Three Fiber, PDF, HTML email, Vue, Svelte or Ink. 14A generative-UI framework in which the model emits JSON constrained to a component catalog you define, and your application renders it. Output is validated against your schema, actions are declared alongside components, and 36 shadcn/ui components ship ready to use. 14Letting a model write JSX or HTML hands it the whole browser. Constraining it to a catalog means an output outside the catalog fails validation, and the guardrail is a schema you wrote rather than a prompt you hoped for. 14Define three components and one action, then prompt for a screen that needs a fourth. The test is what your application does when the model reaches for a component the catalog does not have.
Jev is the cheapest of the three to try, because it replaces one decision you already make rather than a way of writing software. Bend asks for a real change to how a repository is built, and pays for it with a class of bug that never ships. json-render sits between them: a schema and a component list, and the model works inside whatever you declared.

Reaching software that has no connector

Every agent eventually needs a tool nobody wrote an MCP server for. This week's three answers are a generator that writes the command surface, a broker that carries someone else's credentials, and an SDK for building the harness yourself.
ToolCurrent signalAccess / pricingWhat it doesDifferentiationTry-it test
CLI-Anything (HKUDS)GitHub Trending weekly: +1,105 stars (50.8k total). 15Apache-2.0. Free; pip install cli-anything-hub and then cli-hub install <name> for a published harness, or run the seven-phase generator against software you name. 15Turns desktop and professional software into agent-native command-line harnesses. The generator reads an application, writes a CLI with a --json flag on every command, and emits a SKILL.md so an agent can discover what the tool does. The published catalogue includes harnesses that drive a live ArcGIS Pro or QGIS session step by step, with each action executing inside the application you are watching. 15An MCP server exposes the operations its author chose to expose. This writes a command surface for software that has no integration at all, and leaves the human interface in place for the person who still uses it. 15Generate a harness for one desktop application you already pay for, and run a task you would normally do by hand. Read the --json output before the agent's summary, because a summary can read correctly while the underlying data is wrong.
Treg (superdesigndev)GitHub Trending weekly: +1,832 stars (3.6k total). 16Apache-2.0 with added terms: self-hosting your own registry for your own team is permitted, and offering it to third parties as a hosted or managed service needs written authorisation. Live at treg.to, with $1.00 of credit for a new verified account. 16A catalog of thousands of third-party endpoints behind one base URL and one token, priced per call from a cent: SEO and backlink data, social and trends, people and company enrichment, ads, scraping, image and video generation. Treg holds the provider accounts — its README names Semrush, Moz, Crunchbase and Apollo — so an agent can call them without a subscription or a provider key. Your own keys, skills and CLIs register alongside the catalog, and your key is used before the broker's. 16A model gateway routes a request between models. Treg routes between tools and carries the credentials, which is the part that otherwise blocks a job somebody wants to run once. The team describes it as OpenRouter for agent tools. 16Register one provider key you already hold, then run a task that needs it and confirm the call used your key. The exposure to watch is what else your teammates can reach with the same token.
Strands harness (strands-agents)GitHub Trending weekly: +1,119 stars (8.5k total). 17Apache-2.0. Free; pip install strands-harness or npm install @strands-agents/harness. 17An SDK for building an agent harness you control end to end. One create_harness() call returns an assembled agent with defaults for model, tools, memory, sessions and context management, and the SDK underneath lets you own the loop, the hooks and the providers when those defaults are wrong. Amazon Bedrock, Anthropic, OpenAI and Gemini are first-class, with more providers and custom ones behind them. Hooks intercept any step of the loop to log, validate or redirect it, and steering handlers let an agent correct itself. 17Agent frameworks hand you primitives and leave the production defaults to you. This ships a working harness first and drops to the primitives on demand, and it keeps the model provider swappable so a scaling decision later is not a rewrite. 17Build the harness on its default model, run one task whose answer you already know, then swap the provider and run it again. The test is whether any of your own code had to change.
CLI-Anything and Treg solve the same shortage from opposite ends: one manufactures the missing tool, the other rents access to somebody else's. Strands harness is the answer for a team that has decided the agent loop itself is the product, and wants to own it rather than configure it.

The document surface an agent can drive

An agent asked to work inside a spreadsheet or a deck usually gets a screenshot, or a browser it drives blind. Two releases this week hand it the document instead.
ToolCurrent signalAccess / pricingWhat it doesDifferentiationTry-it test
Univer (dream-num)GitHub Trending weekly: +5,414 stars (20.8k total) on the TypeScript board. 18Open-source core under Apache-2.0, with a commercial Univer Pro layer sold separately. Pro covers collaboration, import and export, charts, pivot tables, printing, the collaboration server and enhanced formula features; the OSS packages are documented to be useful on their own. 18An embeddable office SDK covering spreadsheets, documents, presentations, bases and boards, with a canvas renderer, a formula engine and one Facade API that runs in the browser and on Node.js. Version 2 of the repository positions it as the office harness for AI agents. 18A screenshot gives an agent a picture, and a browser automation path gives it something that breaks whenever the interface moves. A document object model gives it cells, formulas and structure it can read and write directly. 18Embed a sheet in a small application, then have an agent fill one column from data you already have. The test is whether the formulas survive the write or get flattened into values.
WZRDProduct Hunt weekly leaderboard, September 21–27: rank 13, tagged Productivity, No-Code and Design. 2Not published on the site I could reach. 19An AI workspace for documents, slides, sheets and forms. You drop in a PDF, deck or spreadsheet, or describe what you need, and it produces an interactive page with a voice agent attached that walks a reader through the content, asks questions and captures answers. 19A document generator stops at the file. WZRD publishes the document as an experience with a conversational layer on top, which is what a guided intake form or a client-facing deck needs. 19Publish one deck you already have, then ask the published page two questions whose answers are in the deck. The test is whether the voice agent stays inside the document or invents around it.
Univer is the build-it-yourself answer: a document model you embed, with a commercial layer for the parts teams usually buy. WZRD is the opposite trade — you give up the object model and get a published experience with a conversation attached. Pick by whether your agent needs to write the cells or talk to the reader.

Worlds and video built from a conversation

The two media entries this week both take the instruction out of the editor. One lets an agent drive a video project you still own and can still edit. The other removes the finished clip altogether.
ToolCurrent signalAccess / pricingWhat it doesDifferentiationTry-it test
Clueso MCPProduct Hunt weekly leaderboard, September 21–27: rank 1, tagged Artificial Intelligence, Animation and Video. 2Freemium. A free plan with no credit card, then Solo at $40/mo and Business at $120/mo billed yearly, and Enterprise on request. 20A connector that gives any MCP-capable agent — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor — the ability to create and edit video inside Clueso. The agent sees your brand guidelines, personas and past projects, can apply one instruction across three videos or three hundred, and every output stays editable by hand in the Clueso editor afterwards. Setup is an install prompt pasted into the agent, then a Google sign-in. 21A video generator returns a clip and leaves the timeline to you. This drives an owned, editable project from outside the editor, so a Linear release or an Intercom ticket can end in a published tutorial with nobody opening the editor. 21Connect it, then ask for a thirty-second remake of a product video you already have. The test is whether you can still take the result into the editor and change one line by hand.
PixVerse R2Product Hunt weekly leaderboard, September 21–27: rank 10, tagged Developer Tools, Artificial Intelligence and Games. 2Not disclosed on the model page; R2 is reachable through the PixVerse platform. 22A real-time world model that keeps a world generating while you move through it, instead of rendering a finished clip. WASD input and camera direction steer the character, a prompt changes weather, scene or movement without restarting, audio carries timing into the same loop, and persistent anchors hold character identity and world rules steady across the run. Generation chunk length adapts to the input, with short chunks for local response and longer ones for coherent events. 22Text-to-video and image-to-video tools return a completed file you then react to. R2 accepts input during generation and keeps world state between changes, which is the property interactive and game-like uses need. 22Open one world, change something mid-run — call in a vehicle, change the weather — then keep moving. The test is whether the change stays in effect in what follows.
Clueso is the practical one this week, because it fits a workflow somebody already has and leaves an editable file at the end. PixVerse R2 is the one whose price and access you have to establish before you plan anything around it, and whose value shows up only if your product needs a world rather than a clip.
Taken together, the seven themes move the same thing: authority the agent used to borrow now sits with the agent. That narrows the first test worth running. Ask where the tool's authority stops and who can revoke it, then pick the entry whose blast radius you can bound in an afternoon.
