Your June Birthday Freebie Playbook (2026)
The June 2026 guide to 30+ US chain birthday freebies — free meals, drinks, and retail gifts, with enrollment deadlines, a perk changelog (Dunkin' removed its free beverage, Crumbl restricted its cookie), and a July enrollment preview so you don't miss the window.
This is the June 2026 edition, covering the current state of US chain restaurant and retail birthday programs as of June 1, 2026. Data was compiled between May 19 and June 1. Two major programs cut their birthday rewards since last month — read the changelog before you plan your haul.

Birthday-month enrollment calendar
If your birthday falls in June 2026, several critical enrollment windows are open right now — and a few have already started closing.
Do today (June 1) if your birthday is June 8 or later:
- Starbucks: Requires 7 days lead time plus at least one Star-earning purchase before your birthday. If your birthday is June 8 or later, sign up now and make one small purchase (a drip coffee counts) before your birthday. Green-level members can only redeem on their exact birthday, so missing the window means waiting a full year. 1
- IHOP: PanCoins load at the start of your birthday month — but if you missed June 1, the coins may not load mid-month. If your June birthday hasn't passed, sign up anyway and contact IHOP support; the 7-day rule is for the coins to load at month start, not for the account to be created. 2
Do this week if your birthday is June 8 or later:
- Dutch Bros: Sign up today and the birthday coupon loads in about 24 hours — still usable for any birthday from June 2 onward. 3
- Jersey Mike's: If you have never bought a sub through MyMike's Rewards, the clock starts on your first purchase. The birthday reward requires a purchase within the past 12 months. Make your first qualifying purchase before your June birthday. 2
- Denny's, Baskin-Robbins, Chick-fil-A, BWW, Krispy Kreme: No published hard enrollment lag for these programs — sign up now and the birthday reward should appear in-app by your birthday.
Walk-in redemptions — no advance lead time:
- Sephora and Ulta: Walk into any location during your birthday month, have your account open on your phone or give your email at the register. In-store has zero lead time. Online Sephora requires a $25 minimum. Ulta online requires a $0+ order with at least one non-Marketplace item. 45
Enrolling for July now:
If your birthday is in July, sign up for IHOP, Starbucks, and Texas Roadhouse before June 30 to clear activation lags. See the July preview section at the end of this article.
Tier 1 — Full-meal and high-value freebies
These programs deliver a complete meal, a full sub, or a meaningful entrée-level reward. Purchase required at redemption is flagged.
| Chain | What you get | Enrollment | Lag | Calorie note | Purchase at redemption? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jersey Mike's | Free regular-size sub | MyMike's Rewards (free) | Before birthday; 1 sub purchased in past year | ~500–700 kcal depending on size/protein | No |
| Denny's | Free Everyday Value Slam (build your own) | Denny's Rewards app (free) | Before birthday; show ID | ~700–1,100 kcal depending on build | No |
| IHOP | Full stack of pancakes (5 PanCoins) | International Bank of Pancakes (free) | 7+ days before birthday month | ~490 kcal for plain stack | No |
| Buffalo Wild Wings | Free 6-piece traditional or boneless wings | Blazin' Rewards (free) | Before birthday | ~240–310 kcal | No (prior purchase may be required — see note) |
| Noodles & Company | Free regular entrée | Noodles Rewards (free) | Before birthday | ~400–700 kcal | No |
| Texas Roadhouse | Free appetizer or Sidekick (ribs/shrimp) | VIP Club (free, email sign-up) | Before birthday month | Cactus Blossom ~800 kcal — ⚠️ calorie bomb; ask for a lighter option | Requires adult entrée purchase |
| California Pizza Kitchen | Free dessert (standard) or free entrée (Diamond/Elite tier, 350+ pts) | CPK Rewards (free) | Before birthday | Varies | No for dessert; tiered entree has no purchase req at redemption |
Notes on this tier:
- Texas Roadhouse is widely listed as a "freebie" — it requires an adult entrée purchase to redeem, so it falls between Tier 1 and Tier 4. It is included here because the appetizer value (~$12–15) easily outweighs most entrée purchases if you were already going for dinner. The Combo Appetizer is excluded from the offer. 67
- Buffalo Wild Wings: Aggregators consistently report no purchase required at redemption. 78 The official BWW rewards page (SPA) could not be fully verified for this edition; if you have never ordered from BWW before, one small prior order reduces the risk of a first-visit rejection.
- Friends With Benefits (FWB) — Benihana/STK/RA Sushi replacement: Benihana's old Chef's Table program ($30 birthday certificate) was replaced by The One Group's Friends With Benefits program. The FWB birthday reward is $50 credit usable at Benihana, STK Steakhouse, Kona Grill, RA Sushi, and Salt Water Social — up from $30 on the old program. The catch: redemption requires a $60+ dine-in purchase Monday through Thursday. One Reddit user confirmed in April 2026 that the $50 covered an entire meal: "They just needed my email & comped my entire meal." 9 Sign up before your June birthday if you plan to dine at any of those restaurants.
Tier 2 — Free drinks and desserts
These programs deliver a free beverage, scoop, mini cake, doughnut, or pastry with no purchase required at redemption unless noted.
| Chain | What you get | Enrollment | Lag | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dutch Bros | Free drink, any size up to 32 oz, any modifications, 30-day window | Dutch Bros Rewards (free) | ~24 hrs | Best flexibility of any drink program in this tier. If you sign up on your birthday, the coupon may not load until the next day — walk in and ask the "broista" to honor it in person, which many locations will do. 3 |
| Starbucks | Free handcrafted beverage or food item (any size) | Starbucks Rewards (free) | 7 days + 1 prior purchase | Green tier: birthday only; Gold (500–2,500 stars): 7-day window; Reserve (2,500+ stars): 30-day window. Must have made at least one Star-earning purchase to unlock eligibility. 1 |
| Nothing Bundt Cakes | Free Individual Bundtlet, any flavor | Bundtastic Rewards (free) | Before birthday | 14-day window (7 days before to 7 days after). Claim early — do not wait until the last day of the month. No purchase required. 710 |
| Baskin-Robbins | Free 2.5 oz scoop of ice cream | Birthday Club (free) | Before birthday | Free for new Rewards members; if you joined the old Birthday Club, your birthday is still honored. 8 |
| Krispy Kreme | Free doughnut (1 doughnut or 3 Original Glazed — sources differ) | Krispy Kreme Rewards (free) | Before birthday | Valid 30 days after birthday. Sources disagree on quantity: KCL and Cozymeal say 1 free doughnut of choice; others say 3 glazed. Verify in-app before visiting. 27 |
| BJ's Restaurant | Free Pizookie (warm pizza cookie + vanilla ice cream) | Premier Rewards Plus (free) | Before birthday | No purchase required. One of the better standalone dessert freebies at ~$9 retail value. 8 |
| Panera Bread | Free bakery treat or bagel, 7-day window | MyPanera (free) | Before birthday | Confirmed active for June 2026 per a Reddit community post from r/Panera. 11 |
| Jamba | Free small smoothie | Jamba Rewards (free) | Before birthday; min 15 points (~$15 spent) | Requires earning 15 points on account before birthday. 50% off first smoothie on signup. 7 |
| Caribou Coffee | Free drink, birthday week | Caribou Perks (free) | Before birthday | Seven-day redemption window. 7 |
| Dairy Queen | Birthday sweet treat (typically small sundae or BOGO Blizzard) | DQ Rewards (free) | Before birthday; 1 purchase within 45 days prior | Must purchase something from DQ within the 45 days before your birthday or the reward will not load. Offer valid 7 days after claiming in app. 28 |
| Chick-fil-A One | Free Chocolate Chunk Cookie or similar treat (basic tier) | Chick-fil-A One (free) | Before birthday | Basic tier = cookie/brownie. Silver/Red/Signature tiers = expanded options (milkshake or entrée). No purchase required. 8 |
Crumbl Cookies now requires Silver status (approximately $50 in purchases per year — 500 Crumbs — at a rate of 10–13 Crumbs per dollar spent) to unlock the birthday cookie. If you are a new or light-spend Crumbl member, this reward is no longer available without reaching that threshold. A Reddit user in May 2026 noted confusion about whether Sunday birthdays still qualified under the new rules. 12 If you are already a Silver or higher member, the single cookie voucher loads to your app as before.
Tier 3 — Retail birthday gifts
Three programs worth the enrollment time if any of these categories apply to your routine shopping.
| Chain | What you get | Enrollment | Lag | In-store vs. online |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sephora Beauty Insider | Choice of 1 deluxe gift set; H1 2026 options: Dr. Dennis Gross (DermInfusions Blur + Repair Cream, Fill + Repair Serum, Alpha Beta Peel Pads), Glossier (You Solid Perfume x3 + Cloud Paint Blush), Tower 28 (SOS Daily Rescue Facial Spray + ShineOn Milky Lip Jelly in Pistachio), Dae (Prickly Pear 3-in-1 Styling Cream + Sunsetter Finishing Spray) | Beauty Insider (free) | 0 days in-store | In-store: no purchase, just birthday month. Online: $25 minimum. VIB/Rouge members get an additional rotating quarterly exclusive (Jan–Mar was Jo Malone London two-piece set). All tiers may swap the gift for 250 Beauty Insider points instead. 4 |
| Ulta Ultamate Rewards | Choice of 1 of 6 deluxe/travel-size products: Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50, Tatcha The Dewy Milk Moisturizer, Elizabeth Arden Retinol + HPR Ceramide Capsules, MAËLYS B-TIGHT Lift & Firm Booty Mask, Verb Ghost Oil, Polite Society Polite Pout Glossy Lip Balm | Ultamate Rewards (free) | Must have birthday on file before birthday month starts; subscribe to marketing emails | In-store: present coupon code from app or birthday email. Online: $0+ cart with at least one non-Marketplace item. Diamond ($1,200+/yr) and Platinum ($500+/yr) members get an additional $10 coupon. All members get double points on all purchases in birthday month (manual activation required). Not valid at Ulta at Target. 5 |
| JCPenney Rewards | $10 CashPass credit added automatically on your birthday | Rewards (free) | Birthday date must be on file in advance | Applied to account on birthday, valid until expiration date. Cannot be used on gift cards, salon services, or service plans. Not redeemable for cash. 13 |
Other retail programs worth one sign-up: Kohl's Rewards gives members a "special birthday gift" during their birthday month (exact value undisclosed, requires at least one purchase before birthday month). 14 DSW VIP gives a $5 reward valid all birthday month (VIP Elite at $500+/yr spend gets $10). 27
Tier 4 — Discount-with-purchase (labeled, not free)
Each of these requires a qualifying purchase to unlock the reward. They are listed here so you know what they are — and so you do not plan a special trip expecting something free.
| Chain | Offer | Minimum purchase |
|---|---|---|
| The Cheesecake Factory | Free slice of cheesecake or layered cake | Any food or beverage purchase 7 |
| Red Robin Royalty | Free Gourmet/Tavern/Veggie Birthday Burger | $4.99, dine-in only 8 |
| Cold Stone Creamery | BOGO Creation (buy one, get one free) | One full-price creation 7 |
| Firehouse Subs | Free medium sub | $1 minimum purchase 2 |
| Chili's My Chili's Rewards | Free birthday dessert | Entrée purchase 9 |
| Outback Steakhouse Dine Rewards | Free birthday dessert | Entrée purchase 9 |
| Bath & Body Works Loyalty | Free item up to $9.95 value | Any purchase 7 |
| Smoothie King Healthy Rewards | $2 off a 20 oz smoothie (standard tier) or free 20 oz (Champion tier) | No purchase for Champion; standard = discount only 8 |
Enrollment routing: 10 programs, minimum inbox footprint
Below is the recommended stack for a June birthday reader who wants maximum value with minimum app clutter. Using a separate email address for all of these (free Gmail or Protonmail) keeps your primary inbox clean.
Install the app (reward only works through the app):
- Dutch Bros Rewards — App required. No prior purchase, 30-day window, any size. Best flexibility in the stack.
- Starbucks Rewards — App required. Make one qualifying purchase before your birthday. Birthday reward value: $7–12 for a full customized drink.
- Denny's Rewards — App required for in-store scan. Free Grand Slam variant, no purchase.
- Chick-fil-A One — App required. Free cookie, no purchase, reliable delivery per April–May 2026 community reports. 9
- Dairy Queen DQ Rewards — App required; must have made one DQ purchase within the 45 days prior.
Email sign-up only (no app needed):
- Texas Roadhouse VIP Club — Email/web sign-up. Birthday month appetizer, no app download, email coupon arrives automatically. 6
- IHOP International Bank of Pancakes — Web or app. Full pancake stack, but sign up 7+ days before your birthday month begins.
- Nothing Bundt Cakes eClub — Email sign-up. Free Bundtlet, 14-day window around birthday. 10
- Panera Bread MyPanera — Web or app. Free bakery treat, 7-day window. Active for June 2026 per community reports. 11
Walk-in / in-store only (no pre-enrollment required beyond having an account):
- Sephora Beauty Insider + Ulta Ultamate Rewards — Enroll online in advance (two minutes each), then walk in during your birthday month. No purchase required in-store. Pick up two different product categories in one shopping trip — Sephora and Ulta are in the same mall complex in most major metro areas.
2026 changelog — what was cut, what changed, what's new
Read this section before you plan around a program you used last year.
Removed — no longer a free item
Dunkin' — birthday freebie eliminated (confirmed May 2026)
Dunkin' removed its free birthday beverage from the DD Perks program. The current "birthday benefit" is 3x bonus points on purchases made the day before, on, and after your birthday — a points multiplier, not a free item. 15 This change was confirmed by Reddit community members in early May 2026, with one commenter noting "And no more free Birthday Reward...!!" in a thread about the simultaneous Mobile Mondays point cut (from 100 to 50 points). User u/Mysterious-Home-408 put it plainly: "The constant enshittification of this company never ceases to amaze me." 15 No official announcement from Dunkin' has been located; the change is confirmed through community reports only.

Downgraded — tier restrictions added
Crumbl Cookies — Silver status now required (~$50/year)
The birthday single-cookie voucher previously required no spend threshold. As of early 2026, Crumbl requires Silver status — approximately 500 Crumbs earned in the previous year, which works out to roughly $50 in purchases (at 10–13 Crumbs per dollar). 712 Light-spend or first-time Crumbl customers no longer receive a birthday reward. This moved Crumbl from a reliable Tier 2 slot to conditional status.
Denny's and IHOP — franchise location variability
Both chains continue to offer birthday rewards, but availability varies by franchise location. Cozymeal notes that Denny's offer "can vary by location" — a few franchise owners opt out. 8 IHOP switched from a free Rooty Tooty Fresh 'N Fruity breakfast to a PanCoins system that loads at the start of your birthday month — the value is roughly comparable, but the old direct-freebie simplicity is gone. 2
Structural changes
Benihana → Friends With Benefits
Benihana's Chef's Table program (which issued a $30 birthday certificate) has been replaced by The One Group's Friends With Benefits program. The FWB birthday reward is $50 — a $20 increase — but now requires a $60+ dine-in purchase Monday through Thursday. If you dined at Benihana on your birthday under the old $30 no-purchase-required certificate, this is a downgrade in friction even if the nominal value is higher. Sign up at the FWB program directly if you plan to dine at Benihana, STK, Kona Grill, or RA Sushi. 9
Starbucks — tiered redemption window (introduced in 2025)
The new tiered structure means a Green-level Starbucks member (fewer than 500 stars, meaning less than roughly $50 in app spend) can only redeem on the exact birthday. Gold (500–2,500 stars) gets a 7-day window; Reserve (2,500+ stars) gets 30 days. This is still technically an improvement over the old single-day policy for most loyal customers, but new enrollees who make only the one required qualifying purchase will be on birthday-only redemption. 2
Godiva — status unknown
Godiva's official rewards page (godiva.com/rewards) returned a 404 error at the time of data collection for this edition. Multiple aggregator sites still list a $10 birthday coupon, but that listing cannot be verified from an active official page. 7 Do not plan around a Godiva birthday reward until the program page is back up or an official update is issued.
Watch list
Five Guys began collecting birthday dates in its app as of May 13, 2026, per user reports on Reddit. 9 No birthday reward has been announced yet. If you are a Five Guys customer, sign up in the app now — if a reward launches, you will be eligible from your next birthday onward.
Enroll now for July birthdays
If your birthday is in July, these are the programs that require action before June 30:
- IHOP: The 5 PanCoins load on July 1. Sign up at least 7 days before July 1 — meaning by June 24 at the latest — or the coins will not appear on July 1. 2
- Starbucks: Sign up before June 23 (7 days before July 1) and make one qualifying purchase before your July birthday. Green-level members can only redeem on their exact birthday.
- Texas Roadhouse VIP Club: Sign up before July 1 to ensure the birthday month email coupon arrives before your birthday date.
- Jersey Mike's: If you have never purchased through MyMike's Rewards, make your first qualifying sub purchase before your July birthday.
- Victoria's Secret & PINK Rewards: This program requires enrollment at least two months before birthday month, plus a purchase in the 12 months before that two-month window. If you want the $10 birthday reward in July (or $15 for VS/PINK cardholders who spend $750+/year), sign up in May — you have missed the clean window for July, but sign up now anyway for August. 27
For all other programs in Tiers 1–3, sign up before July 1. The enrollment cost is under three minutes per program; the worst outcome if you sign up "too late" is that one reward misses and you catch it next year.
