What to Stream: May 25 – June 4, 2026
A 10-day extended streaming guide covering all four major US platforms. Top picks: Star City (Apple TV+, 96% RT) leads as the window's best new drama; Deli Boys S2 (Hulu, 100% RT) and Kneecap (Hulu, 96% RT) make Hulu the quality surprise; Netflix delivers Dead Man's Wire (91% RT) and Oscar-winner Another Round (93% RT); HBO Max's June 1 drop includes Bring Me the Beauties (100% RT) plus Room, Isle of Dogs, and Midsommar. 22 titles verdicted across 4 platforms with full RT scores.
This edition covers the last 10 days of new arrivals — the usual weekly gap was extended, so there's more to sort through than normal. The good news: the haul is genuinely strong. Netflix's June 1 library dump brought in both a 91% RT crime thriller new to the platform and an Oscar-winning Danish masterpiece. HBO Max quietly loaded four certified-fresh films in one shot. Hulu added a 96% RT Irish hip-hop film most US viewers missed theatrically. And Apple TV+ launched the season's surprise critical hit. Here's everything scored, sorted, and verdicted.
Top picks this window
Five titles worth rearranging your schedule for:
Dead Man's Wire (Netflix, arrived May 26) — Gus Van Sant directs Bill Skarsgård in a 70s-style true-crime hostage thriller that critics called "brilliantly offbeat." 91% RT. 1
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Season 2 (Netflix, May 26) — Emma Myers (Wednesday) returns as amateur sleuth Pip Fitz-Amobi in the YA mystery sequel, which somehow outscored Season 1 at 93% RT. 2
Another Round (Netflix, June 4) — Thomas Vinterberg and Mads Mikkelsen's 2021 Academy Award winner for Best International Feature Film. 93% critics, and it earns every decimal. 3
Deli Boys, Season 2 (Hulu, May 28) — The Pakistani-American crime comedy returned with all 6 episodes and a perfect 100% RT score. Fred Armisen joins as a casino kingpin. 4
Star City, Season 1 (Apple TV+, premiered May 29) — A For All Mankind spinoff set in the Soviet space program, 96% Certified Fresh, and the best new limited-run drama to land on any platform this window. 5
Netflix
Netflix had the biggest footprint this window: 30 titles in the May 25–30 week, then a 72-title library megadrop on June 1, plus daily originals through June 4. The franchise collections alone — the complete Rocky and Creed series, the original Karate Kid trilogy, and the full Riddick run — would anchor a lesser week. But the headline arrivals are the originals and the two films worth clearing calendar time for.
Dead Man's Wire (2026) ✦ Binge-Worthy
Type: Movie · Arrived: May 26 · Runtime: 1h 46m · Rating: R
Director: Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting) · Starring: Bill Skarsgård (It), Dacre Montgomery (Stranger Things), Colman Domingo (Euphoria), Al Pacino
Based on a true 1977 incident: Tony Kiritsis, a desperate man who had lost his property to foreclosure, took a mortgage broker hostage using a sawed-off shotgun wired to a "dead man's switch" around his own neck — meaning if Kiritsis died, the gun fired. Bill Skarsgård plays Kiritsis as a wound coil of grievance and absurdist defiance. Gus Van Sant shoots it in a gritty, period-specific register that leans into the darkly comic edges of the case rather than playing it straight procedural. Colman Domingo and Al Pacino round out the supporting cast with the kind of lived-in conviction that makes the film feel as much like a character study as a crime thriller. 16
RT Critics: 91% (Certified Fresh) · Audience: 76%
"Brilliantly offbeat and tinged with a darkly humorous edge, Dead Man's Wire is brought to life by Bill Skarsgård's fearless performance and authentic period flavor." — RT Critics Consensus 1
Verdict: Binge-Worthy — the week's best Netflix original by a comfortable margin.
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Season 2 (2026) ✦ Binge-Worthy
Type: Original series · Arrived: May 26 · Rating: TV-14
Based on: Holly Jackson's YA mystery novels · Starring: Emma Myers (Wednesday) as Pip Fitz-Amobi
Season 1 made Emma Myers a star beyond her Wednesday role as Enid Sinclair — she plays Pip Fitz-Amobi, a high school student who can't stop reopening cold cases even when they put her in real danger. Season 2 picks up with another investigation that spirals further than Pip anticipated, adapting the next novel in Jackson's series. The score went up, not down, which is unusual for a YA sequel: Season 1 sat at 87% RT; Season 2 is Certified Fresh at 93%. Even Kasey Moore at What's on Netflix, writing mid-season, admitted the new installment "is not quite as strong as season 1" while calling Myers "an absolute star." 26
RT Critics: 93% (Certified Fresh) · Audience: Pending
Verdict: Binge-Worthy — Myers alone makes it; the 93% RT puts it above most adult dramas this week, let alone YA.
Another Round (2020) ✦ Binge-Worthy
Type: Movie (library addition) · Arrived: June 4 · Runtime: 1h 57m · Rating: R
Director: Thomas Vinterberg (The Hunt) · Starring: Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, Hannibal), Thomas Bo Larsen, Magnus Millang, Lars Ranthe
Four Danish high school teachers test a theory that maintaining a low-level blood alcohol content throughout the workday will make them more present, more creative, better humans. The experiment starts working — and then doesn't. Vinterberg wrote the film as a tribute to his daughter, who died in a car accident during production; the grief under the film's surface is what elevates it from clever premise to something genuinely moving. Mikkelsen's final dance sequence is one of the decade's most memorable movie moments. Won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film in 2021. 37
RT Critics: 93% (Certified Fresh) · Audience: Pending
"Take one part deftly directed tragicomedy, add a dash of Mads Mikkelsen in vintage form, and you've got Another Round — an intoxicating look at midlife crises." — RT Critics Consensus 3
Verdict: Binge-Worthy — essential cinema. The Oscar was right.
K-Pops! (2024) ✦ Watch It
Type: Movie · Arrived: May 26 · Runtime: 1h 44m · Rating: PG-13
Director/Writer/Star: Anderson .Paak (Grammy-winning musician; directorial debut)
A washed-up drummer travels to South Korea chasing a writing deal with K-pop labels, only to discover his long-lost son is the frontman of one of the country's hottest new boy bands. Anderson .Paak brings his Grammy-winning musical instincts to his first feature as director — the needle drops land, the performances have warmth, and the cross-cultural collision generates genuine laughs. Critics found it "agreeable" rather than essential, which feels about right. 68
RT Critics: 88% (Certified Fresh) · Audience: Pending
"An effervescent tribute to K-Pop and writer-director Anderson .Paak's own life story, this agreeable comedy has rhythm to spare." — RT Critics Consensus 8
Verdict: Watch It — feel-good weekend viewing with a strong musical pulse.
The Witness — Limited Series (2026) ✦ Watch It
Type: Netflix Original limited series (Crime Drama) · Premiered: June 4 · Rating: TBD
Director: Alex Gabassi · Based on: The 1992 murder of Rachel Nickell on Wimbledon Common
The series follows Alex and André Hanscombe as they navigate the aftermath of Rachel Nickell's murder — witnessed only by their two-year-old son — and a flawed police investigation that nearly let the killer walk free. This is true crime with a specific focus on the procedural failures rather than the violence itself, which gives it a different texture than most of the genre. Reviews are embargoed or still accumulating as of publication. 910
RT Critics: Pending · Audience: Pending
Verdict: Watch It — strong early buzz from industry outlets, with the caveat that scores will firm up over the next few days.
The Big Lebowski (1998) ✦ Binge-Worthy
Type: Movie (library addition) · Arrived: June 1 · Runtime: 1h 57m · Rating: R
Directors: Joel and Ethan Coen · Starring: Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Julianne Moore, Steve Buscemi, Philip Seymour Hoffman
If you haven't seen it: Jeff Bridges plays "The Dude," the most relaxed man in Los Angeles, who gets mistaken for a millionaire and dragged into a kidnapping plot that becomes progressively more absurd. The Coens wrote the screenplay around Los Angeles noir conventions and then refused to honor any of them. The critics' 79% score has never quite matched the film's reputation; the 93% audience score is the better data point here. 711
RT Critics: 79% · Audience: 93%
Verdict: Binge-Worthy — the 14-point critic/audience gap is part of the film's folklore at this point. The Dude abides.

On Treasure: Stephen Fry plays a Holocaust survivor father to Lena Dunham's American journalist on a 1990s Poland road trip. The premise is affecting; critics found the execution didn't hold together. 12
HBO Max
HBO Max's big move this window came entirely on June 1 — a 79-title library addition that included six critically strong films worth calling out individually. The one original is the window's strongest documentary by a wide margin.
Bring Me the Beauties: A Model Cult (2026) ✦ Binge-Worthy
Type: HBO Original documentary series · 3 episodes · Premiered: June 1 (weekly; new episodes June 8 and June 15) · Rating: TV-14
Director: Chris Smith (director of Tiger King, Fyre, Bad Vegan)
Hoyt Richards, widely regarded as the world's first male supermodel, was 16 when he met Frederick von Mierers — a Manhattan socialite who claimed to be an alien from the star Arcturus, sent to save "the hottest humans" before Armageddon. Von Mierers ran a cult called Eternal Values in 1980s New York, drawing in young models and professionals with metaphysical teachings and glamour. Chris Smith, who made both Tiger King and Fyre, brings his characteristic "I cannot believe this was real" documentary style to a story that earns it. 1314
RT Critics: 100% (8 reviews) · Audience: Fewer than 50 ratings (too early)
"It's another triumph for Smith, shedding light on an overstuffed topic he's able to unpack in a manner as easy to digest as the rest of his work has shown thus far." — Brian Farvour, The Playlist 13
Verdict: Binge-Worthy — 100% RT, Chris Smith, models, a cult, and Fabio. Watch episode 1 and try to stop.
Six films from HBO Max's June 1 library drop ✦ All recommended
Tom's Guide picked five of these as their top HBO Max watches; Vulture bolded the same titles independently. 1415
| Title | Director / Notable Cast | RT Critics | RT Audience | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Room (2015) | Lenny Abrahamson; Brie Larson (Best Actress Oscar), Jacob Tremblay | 93% | 93% | Binge-Worthy |
| Isle of Dogs (2018) | Wes Anderson; Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Scarlett Johansson | 90% | 87% | Binge-Worthy |
| Midsommar (2019) | Ari Aster (Hereditary); Florence Pugh | 83% | 63% | Binge-Worthy |

| The Rock (1996) | Michael Bay; Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage, Ed Harris | 69% | 85% | Watch It |
A few notes on the table:
Room (2015) is a 93/93 double-score drama about a woman and her 5-year-old son held captive in a single room for seven years. Brie Larson's Best Actress Oscar was unanimously deserved. If you haven't seen it, this week is the week. 16
Midsommar (2019) is the one where a relationship already falling apart goes to a Swedish midsummer festival that turns out to have a ritual agenda. Director Ari Aster (Hereditary) shot the entire film in near-continuous daylight, which makes it more unsettling than any darkness could. The 63% audience score tells you the split: critics found it brilliant; general audiences found it long and punishing. Both groups are correct. 17
The Rock (1996) is Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery breaking into Alcatraz to stop a rogue general from launching chemical weapons into San Francisco. The critics' 69% has always underscored it. The 85% audience score is closer to accurate for a film that knows exactly what it is. 18
Ready Player One (2018), Spielberg's 2045 VR universe adventure (Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke), also arrived June 3 at 71% RT / 77% audience — Watch It for the set pieces. 1419
Hulu
Hulu's window was smaller in volume but punched well above weight on quality. Two titles arrived that most US subscribers will have never seen.
Deli Boys, Season 2 (2026) ✦ Binge-Worthy
Type: Original comedy/crime series · Premiered: May 28 (all 6 episodes) · ~30 min each · Rating: TV-MA
Creator: Abdullah Saeed · Developed by: Jenni Konner & Nora Silver · Showrunner: Michelle Nader
Cast: Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, Poorna Jagannathan; new addition: Fred Armisen (Portlandia, Saturday Night Live) as Max Sugar
The Dar brothers, first-generation Pakistani-American convenience store owners in Philly who accidentally inherited their father's drug empire in Season 1, return drowning in dirty cash and bad decisions. Season 2 introduces Max Sugar (Fred Armisen), a casino kingpin, money launderer, and Lucky's new situationship — which turns out to be the comic engine the season needed. The show holds a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score across two seasons. All six episodes are available now. 420
RT Critics: 100% (Certified Fresh) · Audience: Pending
Verdict: Binge-Worthy — if you missed Season 1, watch that first; it's on Hulu and equally perfect.
Kneecap (2024) ✦ Binge-Worthy
Type: Film (biographical comedy/drama) · Arrived: June 2 · Runtime: 1h 45m · Rating: R
Director/Writer: Rich Peppiatt · Starring: The real members of the band Kneecap — Móglaí Bap, Mo Chara, DJ Próvaí — plus Michael Fassbender (12 Years a Slave, Shame)
This was the first Irish-language film to premiere at Sundance. The band Kneecap — a real, Belfast-based Irish-language hip-hop group — plays themselves in a fictionalized retelling of their own origin story: a Belfast music teacher meets two rebellious teenagers, they form an Irish-language rap group, and the act becomes as politically charged as it is musically propulsive. Michael Fassbender plays the teacher. The film is crude, raucous, funny, and unexpectedly moving. Most US viewers never got a chance to see it in theaters. Now they do. 2122
RT Critics: 96% (Certified Fresh, 143 reviews) · IMDb: 7.6/10
"One of the most exhilarating films in recent years with perfect comedic timing and well-placed needle drops." — ScreenRant 21
Verdict: Binge-Worthy — 96% is not a fluke. A genuine discovery for anyone who missed its 2024 run.

| Love Island UK S13 22 | Reality competition (ITV/Hulu) | June 4 | N/A | Watch It (reality fans) |
On Not Suitable for Work: Mindy Kaling (The Office, The Mindy Project) created and executive produced. Variety called it "a bland 'Friends' copycat with glimpses of a sharper show." Time titled their review "'Not Suitable for Work' Is Not Suitable for 2026." The 60% RT score reflects that gap between what the show could be and what it is. Three episodes is a modest commitment, but better alternatives exist this week. 23
Apple TV+
Star City, Season 1 (2026) ✦ Binge-Worthy
Type: Original drama series · 8 episodes · Premiered: May 29 (2 episodes; new episodes weekly through July 10) · Rating: TV-MA
Creators/Executive Producers: Ben Nedivi, Matt Wolpert, Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, For All Mankind) · Executive Producer: Maril Davis
Starring: Rhys Ifans (The Amazing Spider-Man), Anna Maxwell Martin, Agnes O'Casey, Alice Englert, Adam Nagaitis
Star City is a spinoff of For All Mankind — Apple TV+'s alternate-history drama in which the Soviets beat the US to the moon in 1969. This series takes that premise and drops entirely behind the Iron Curtain, following the cosmonauts, engineers, and KGB surveillance officers of the Soviet space program. Anna Maxwell Martin plays Lyudmilla Raskova, head of KGB intelligence embedded in the program, monitoring every conversation for ideological compliance. Agnes O'Casey plays Anastasia Belikova, the cosmonaut destined to become the first woman on the moon — if the political machinery around her doesn't destroy her first.
Rhys Ifans plays the Chief Designer. He has almost no lines in the first two episodes and is immediately the most magnetic presence on screen.
You do not need to have watched For All Mankind to follow this show. IndieWire's review actually argues that familiarity with the parent series may slow you down — the spinoff "deserves independence" from that established timeline. The early episodes are slow and methodical; by the midpoint they become, in IndieWire's word, "transfixing." 52425
RT Critics: 96% (Certified Fresh) · Audience: 83%
Verdict: Binge-Worthy — the season's best new drama to debut on any streaming platform so far.
