If you have a stadium ticket

NYNJ Stadium's remaining schedule is compact and high-stakes:

The official stadium transport page is blunt: matchday transportation tickets are reserved for FIFA match-ticket holders, transportation tickets are non-transferable, and all stadium transportation or parking passes should be bought in advance. It also says there is no general spectator parking on NYNJ Stadium property on match days. 3

Your lowest-friction stadium route is usually rail. NJ TRANSIT says the Meadowlands Rail Line provides direct service to New York New Jersey Stadium from Secaucus Junction. From New York Penn Station, board a train marked "SEC" to Secaucus Junction, then transfer to the Meadowlands Rail Line; fans coming from other NJ TRANSIT lines can also connect through Secaucus. Round-trip tickets to "Meadowlands" are sold through the NJ TRANSIT mobile app and ticket machines, and NJ TRANSIT says the ticket includes the transfer at Secaucus Junction. 9

NJ TRANSIT's matchday service pattern is built for waves: service begins about four hours before the event, trains are expected every 10-20 minutes before matches, trains run hourly during matches, and post-match trains operate on a load-and-go basis for up to three hours or until the last customers depart. NJ TRANSIT also says supplemental buses will return valid train-ticket holders directly to Secaucus Junction at no extra cost after matches. 9

If rail is not your best option, the official NYNJ Stadium Shuttle lists round-trip service from Midtown North, Midtown East, Port Authority Bus Terminal, and Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, with accessible shuttle options available. Shuttle tickets must be bought in advance through the official shuttle link and are available only to FIFA match-ticket holders. 3

Rideshare is possible, but it is not a curbside stadium drop. The official page directs Uber and rideshare users to Meadowlands Racing and Entertainment, then a signed walking path to the gates; it warns that the walk is 1.3 miles / 2.1 kilometers and that fares and wait times are expected to be higher than usual before and after matches. 3

Private driving should be a last resort. Vehicle access to the stadium is limited to FIFA-permitted vehicles, with limited off-site parking at American Dream and accessible parking passes for the stadium's J Lot available for pre-purchase. 3

If you do not have a stadium ticket

Do not try to drift toward the stadium just to be near the atmosphere. The public-facing fan plan is spread across dedicated venues, and those are much easier to enjoy if you choose by neighborhood.

Queens Group Stage HQ runs at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center through June 27, which makes it the useful short-window option for fans who want a Queens-based event before the group-stage setup closes. 4

For the knockout phase, Rockefeller Center becomes the most central Manhattan watch plan. Rockefeller Center says the Fan Village runs July 6-July 19, converts The Rink into a soccer pitch, includes live performances, family programming, food activations, youth clinics, games, face painting, meet-and-greets, movie nights, and live entertainment, and broadcasts every Round of 16, quarterfinal, semifinal, and final match on large-format screens. 7

For borough-level alternatives, the official fan-events page lists Staten Island Fan Zone at SIUH Community Park from June 29 through July 2, and Brooklyn Fan Zone at Brooklyn Bridge Park on select dates from June 13 through July 19. The same page marks the Bronx Fan Zone as now closed, so do not build a new plan around it unless the official page changes. 4

Midtown rules to check before leaving

NYC DOT's matchday message is simple: walk, bike, or take public transit whenever possible, and avoid driving in Midtown on match days. DOT has designated all eight NYNJ match days as Gridlock Alert Days: June 13, June 16, June 22, June 25, June 27, June 30, July 5, and July 19. 8

The key operational detail is timing. DOT says dedicated bus lanes and street closures begin six hours before match start and end up to three hours after the match. Bus-only corridors include 42nd Street from First Avenue to Twelfth Avenue, parts of Sixth Avenue and Fifth Avenue from 42nd to 59th Streets, and several west-side cross streets used for shuttle movement. 8

Penn Station is also part of the matchday crowd plan. DOT lists vehicle closures on 33rd Street between Sixth and Eighth Avenues and on 32nd Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues for spectator queuing, plus a Dyer Avenue ramp closure affecting Lincoln Tunnel traffic. If your route uses Midtown, check the DOT page and maps before you leave, even if you are not going to the stadium. 8

Truck restrictions matter for hotels, restaurants, vendors, and anyone coordinating group arrivals. DOT says the restricted area covers Midtown from 30th to 60th Streets, river to river, on match days during the same six-hours-before to three-hours-after window, with exemptions for smaller vehicles, emergency vehicles, service vehicles, qualified essential delivery providers, and FIFA event operations. 8
