Say their name when you thank them.
Not just "thanks" — "Thanks, [Name]."
Two seconds. One name. That's it.
When you use someone's name, you're telling them: I see you. You're not just a function. You're a person.
It works at the coffee counter. At the checkout line. With a coworker you've passed in the hallway for three years. With the delivery driver. With a stranger wearing a name tag.
It costs absolutely nothing. Most people go entire shifts — entire days — without hearing their own name said warmly by another person. You can change that in two seconds.
Today's challenge: The next time you thank someone, say their name. Once. That's the whole challenge.
