Roblox morning briefing — September 18, 2026: The Hunt is live, two free trades a month, and two creator updates

Four Roblox developments for September 18: The Hunt: Roblox 20 is now open to every player with the hub's live count and game lineup to work from, trading has opened to players without a subscription at two free trades a month, Studio's collision geometry gains a precision slider, and a player-to-creator bug reporting system enters early access.

This edition covers four Roblox developments as of the morning of September 18 in Central European time. The Hunt: Roblox 20 is open to every player after the hub's subscriber-only window closed last night, and guides tracking it have now compiled the game lineup. Trading has opened to players who pay nothing for it, two trades a month. Studio's collision geometry gains a precision slider. And a way for players to file bug reports has entered early access.

The Hunt: Roblox 20 is open to everyone

What changed. The hub opened to all players at 3 p.m. Pacific time on September 17, which is midnight going into September 18 in Central European time. Roblox Plus subscribers had the hub to themselves from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pacific, an 18:00 to 23:00 window yesterday evening here. 12
  • Where it is. The event runs as a single experience at roblox.com/games/74205509034203. Opened at 08:20 this morning, its page showed 188,436 players inside, 79,669 favourites, 33.6 million visits, and about 19,000 likes against 4,305 dislikes. 1
  • What the page promises. Roblox's own description sets out 20 years of history played "one era at a time," and closes with "stay tuned for more surprises as The Hunt: Roblox 20 unfolds." The event runs to September 28. 1
  • The shape of the track. Players start at Year Zero and work forward a year at a time, one quest per era, with UGC rewards collected along the way; finishing all 20 years unlocks Year Infinity, a second set of 20 games. 3
  • Which games are in it. Roblox's own announcement names four of the portals: Lumber Tycoon 2, Jailbreak, Adopt Me! and Grow a Garden. 4 Guides tracking the event badges inside the hub have compiled the full set of 20, and two of them list the same lineup. 56

Six games to film first

  • Crossroads — the founding-era map at the head of the track, and the opening shot for any Short about where the platform started.
  • Work at a Pizza Place — the job simulator half the audience has never seen; one shift films as one continuous bit.
  • Murder Mystery 2 — round-based, so a badge attempt fits a single clip with a clear outcome at the end.
  • Jailbreak — one of the four Roblox named itself, and the one whose map an older audience will recognise first.
  • Adopt Me! — the second of Roblox's four, and the portal where a Short can show how wide the crowd inside the hub is.
  • Grow a Garden — the newest of Roblox's four, and the one to open when the Short needs today's Roblox sitting next to 2006.
  • The countdown Roblox left running. The restored 2004 site at dynablocks.com read 1 day, 11 hours and 48 minutes when we opened it this morning, which lands on September 19 at 20:00 Central European time, or 11 a.m. Pacific. 7 Roblox has said nothing about what the countdown is for, and its event page closes by telling players to stay tuned for more surprises. 1
  • What the thread is asking. The official event thread has passed 70 posts. One player asked whether finishing all 20 years is required, since they are banned from one of the participating games; another asked whether the Classic theme is gone for good if they subscribe after the event, having read it that way; a third asked when the event opens to everyone. The leaderboard keeps coming back: the announcement says players compete for a spot on one and leaves the scoring unexplained. 4

Why it matters. Through yesterday the event existed as a schedule; this morning it exists as a place with a live player count on it. That count is the timing signal a Shorts creator needs, because the hub empties after September 28 and the crowd inside it now cannot be filmed later.
Shorts angle. Open the hub on your own account, scroll the year-by-year portals, then step into one era and record the quest and the reward drop in a single take. Crossroads is the one that carries the history angle hardest. Ask viewers which of the 20 years they would start with.

Two free trades a month for players outside Plus

What changed. Roblox's help article on trading now lists a limited-time promotion: users in the United States can make two free trades each month, the allowance resets at the start of each month, and unlimited trading stays a Roblox Plus benefit. 8 The trade screen itself states the terms in two lines, "2/2 free trades left this month" and "Ends Dec 31." 9
  • Who it covers. The help article scopes the promotion to the United States. The same article notes that trading is unavailable in South Korea. 8
  • What it changes for one account. Two trades a month is a small allowance, and for a player who owns a limited item it is the difference between a locked inventory and a market. Trades cannot be reversed once accepted, and Roblox takes a 30% fee on any Robux inside one. 8
  • What the paperwork says. The article's setup section still lists an active Plus subscription as something both players need before they can send or receive a trade, which sits beside the promotion without a line reconciling the two. 8
  • How it reached players. The promotion appears on the trade screen and in Roblox's help article. Neither the Developer Forum's announcements board nor the Roblox newsroom carried a post about it as of this morning. 89

Why it matters. Trading has been one of the things a subscription bought. A free monthly allowance through December 31 hands the limited-item market to players who never paid, and the anniversary items currently flowing out of The Hunt are exactly the kind of inventory that feeds it. Players will find the change on the trade screen, ahead of any guide explaining it.
Shorts angle. Open Trades on an account without Plus and let the banner sit on screen long enough to read: two of two left, ends December 31. Then show the item you would put into your first trade. Ask viewers what they would trade for with a free one.

Collision geometry gets a precision slider

What changed. On the evening of September 17, Roblox's geometry team announced CollisionFidelity = Tunable, a setting that adds a CollisionPrecision slider to each MeshPart and lets a creator trade accuracy against performance mesh by mesh. 10
  • What it replaces. Collision fidelity used to be a fixed choice from a short list, and meshes that landed awkwardly between those options got worse collision than they needed. 10
  • Existing work stays put. Existing meshes keep the collision geometry they already have. A MeshPart changes only when its owner switches it to Tunable and moves the slider. 10
  • The default depends on size. Roblox picks the starting precision from the mesh's size, so it recommends sizing a mesh roughly right before switching. 10
  • Seeing it got easier. The visual mesh and the collision geometry can now be rendered together with adjustable transparency, the view can be filtered by CanCollide, CanQuery, CanTouch or collision group, and collision geometry previews automatically while CollisionFidelity is being edited. 10
  • The cost of the first look. Computing the precision levels on a complex mesh can take up to 5 seconds the first time; the levels are cached after that and the slider moves smoothly. Switching many meshes at once can pause Studio, and asynchronous, cloud-transcoded computation is in progress. 10
  • What staff answered in the thread. Collision geometry is stored in the place file, so all servers get the same shape and only an explicit change recomputes it. On the slider, 0 matches Hull and 1 is a near-exact decomposition, and the value is a fraction of the convex count rather than a number that maps onto Default or PreciseConvexDecomposition. Improving the algorithm later will not silently regenerate anyone's geometry. 10
  • The question Roblox put to developers. Resizing a mesh currently leaves its collision geometry alone. Roblox plans an option and wants to know which behaviour should be the default: adjust the geometry to hold relative precision, or scale what is already there. 10
  • Where it still struggles. The post lists stray convexes on meshes whose detail is very fine relative to their size or that contain many intersecting parts, and a visualizer that can show incorrect collision meshes for avatars. A developer building kart tracks says that even at precision 1 the track is not smooth enough to drive on, and that they add 7,000 to 30,000 invisible wedge parts to compensate; a Roblox staff member asked for the mesh so the team could look at it. 10
Two collision decompositions of the same mesh at different sizes, each convex shaded a different colour

Why it matters. Collision is where accuracy and frame rate pull against each other, and the old fixed list pushed that fight onto workarounds such as invisible wedge parts. The slider turns it into a setting a creator can dial and see, which makes it one of the more filmable changes Roblox has shipped this month.
Shorts angle. Take the messiest mesh in your own project, set CollisionFidelity to Tunable, and drag the slider from 0 to 1 with collision visualization switched on. The shape changes on screen in one continuous take. Ask viewers which resize default they would pick, and show them the two options.

Player Support opens in early access

What changed. Roblox opened early access for Player Support on the evening of September 17. Players who are age-checked 13 or older can report a problem with a game from inside it, and the report lands in that game's Creator Hub instead of the creator's DMs. 11
  • Getting in. Creators sign up through a Roblox form and access is granted on a rolling basis, with a notification in Creator Hub and Studio. The portal sits under Creator Hub, then Creations, then the game, then Audience, then Player Support. 11
  • The entry point inside a game. A creator adds it with FeedbackType PlayerSupport through SocialService:PromptFeedbackSubmissionAsync, after which a player can file a report mid-session, in the place where the problem happened. 11
  • What each report carries. Roblox's form asks where it happened, on which device, and for details, attaches device and client metadata automatically, and accepts up to three screenshots. A player can also tick a box to share their user information with the creator. 11
  • Duplicates collapse. Repeat reports about the same problem cluster into one issue, so a creator triages one ticket rather than dozens of copies. 11
  • Replying. Replies come from a pre-approved response library, with categories switched on per game, and custom responses are on the way. Tickets carry an open or closed status, both sides are notified as one moves, and a creator can filter read and unread, answer several similar tickets with one bulk reply, and export the queue to CSV. Players see that a team member from the game replied, not the creator's account. 11
  • On Community forums too. A new "Attach bug reports" permission lets players attach a bug report from the forum post editor. Forums are tier-gated, so this applies to games that already have one. 11
  • What is coming. By the end of the year: client logging and microprofiler dumps, spam detection, custom responses, and translation for player-submitted reports. In 2027: reporting for players under 13, and AI help with de-duplication and issue clustering. 11
  • What developers pushed back on. The reply model drew the most criticism: a developer running a large game calls the pre-approved messages a blocker and says bug reports will keep arriving through Discord instead; others asked which community tier unlocks forum bug reports, and whether Cloud API endpoints or webhooks will follow so tickets can reach their own trackers. 11

The form a player fills in from inside a game, marked Private, with the three-screenshot limit and the optional share-user-information box. Image: Roblox. 11
Why it matters. Bug reports currently reach creators through community posts, direct messages and off-platform servers, often missing the details needed to reproduce anything. This is the first time a report about a specific game arrives at that game's team inside Roblox with the player's device, client version and a screenshot attached.
Shorts angle. Film the player side first: open a game with the entry point, tap report, and let the form read on screen, Private label and all. Then cut to the same ticket waiting in the Creator Hub queue. Ask viewers whether they would report a bug this way or keep posting in a Discord.

Shorts ideas to chase first

  1. The hub on its first full day. Record the player count on the hub page, then walk the year-by-year portals and step into one era. The number is fresh today and the crowd disappears after September 28. 1
  2. A free trade on an account without Plus. Show the counter reading two of two and the December 31 end date, then the item you would move. 89
  3. The collision slider in one take. Drag it from 0 to 1 over an awkward mesh with the collision geometry visible, and land on the resize question Roblox is asking. 10
  4. Reporting a bug from inside a game. The form is new enough that most players have not seen it. Show the fields, the private label, and the ticket that results. 11
