#1 — 31208 Hokusai: The Great Wave
Set 31208-1 | Art | 1,810 pieces | no minifigures | MSRP $99.99 | Retiring estimated Jul 31, 2026 (~9 weeks)
BrickRanker's 6-month rolling average for 31208 is $76.91, which is −23.1% below the $99.99 MSRP. 2 The dataset covers 72 total sales since June 2023 — a moderate sample size for an Art theme set. The 2-year post-retirement forecast sits at +30.12% (range: +21.93% to +35.49%), placing it in the upper tier of the July cohort by forecast confidence band width.
PriceCharting was inaccessible this run — all URL patterns returned 404 and a Google search for PriceCharting LEGO 31208 pages returned no results. The $76.91 figure rests on BrickRanker alone, without an independent cross-check today.
The Art theme is worth a brief note for buyers unfamiliar with it: LEGO's Art line (launched 2020) consists of large mosaic-style wall displays built from 1×1 round tiles. These sets have a distinct collector base — adult decorators who build and display them — separate from traditional minifig-driven buyers. That bifurcated audience has historically supported firmer post-retirement pricing than piece count alone would predict.
At $76.91 with ~9 weeks until retirement, this is a clean entry point by BrickRanker's measure. The absence of PriceCharting cross-check is a meaningful caveat; buyers who want independent verification should search completed eBay listings for "LEGO 31208 sealed" before committing.
Authentication checklist for 31208
Art theme sets at the $70–$100 price point attract counterfeit production. Three checks specific to this set:
- Tile print consistency: The set is built almost entirely from 1×1 round printed tiles in shades of teal, navy, white, cream, and dark brown. Counterfeit batches frequently show inconsistent dye lots — tiles from the same color family will have visible hue variation under daylight, particularly in the wave crests (white and light grey tiles). Authentic LEGO tile printing is batch-controlled within tight tolerances.
- Box seal integrity: 31208 uses LEGO's standard inner-box polybag seal. Any listing described as "sealed" but with visible tape resealing at the top flap is a red flag for a resealed or counterfeit copy. The genuine box has a factory-applied clear inner seal that tears cleanly from the flap edge.
- LEGO logo on 1×1 round tiles: Every genuine 1×1 round tile has a raised LEGO logo on the top face. On counterfeit tiles, this logo is frequently absent, shallow, or asymmetrically placed. The high tile count in this set makes spot-checking a few tiles from an opened bag straightforward.
Runner-up — 10327 Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter
Set 10327-1 | Icons | 1,369 pieces | 8 exclusive minifigures | MSRP $164.99 | Retiring estimated Jul 31, 2026 (~9 weeks)
BrickRanker's 6-month average for 10327 is $98.37, which is −40.4% below the $164.99 MSRP — the deepest discount among all priced July 2026 candidates. 3 The 2-year forecast of +31.47% (range: +26.38% to +35.68%) is also the tightest forecast band in this cohort, meaning the model has higher confidence in the range. The dataset covers 175 total sales.
The minifigure lineup is the primary value driver here. The 8 included figures carry a combined BrickRanker standalone value of $86.42 — which equals 88% of the set's total assessed value. 3 All 8 are exclusive to this set and represent the only LEGO Dune minifigures in existence, given the limited licensing history of the IP.
The 10327 has been on cooldown since May 21 and is re-eligible today. Its discount deepened slightly from the last feature ($99.01 / −40.0%) to the current $98.37 / −40.4%.
10327 ranks as runner-up rather than lead today because 31208 holds the cooler head with a higher lifetime-sales base relative to the BrickRanker forecast, and the Ornithopter's minifig-heavy value concentration creates authentication risk that some buyers may prefer to avoid.

Authentication checklist for 10327
- Paul Atreides hair/head print: Paul's distinctive sandy-brown dual-molded hair piece is a known counterfeiting target. Authentic versions have consistent coloring where the molded hair meets the flesh-tone forehead line; fakes frequently show color bleed or a visible seam gap.
- Ornithopter wing mechanism: The set's articulated wing assembly uses a specific ratchet-click hinge that locks at defined angles. Counterfeit builds often substitute generic hinge plates that allow free movement without the positive click detents.
- Minifig face printing precision: The Dune license involves detailed realistic portrait printing across all 8 figures. Counterfeit versions show lower print resolution, particularly on eyes and mouth detail. Under 10× magnification the authentic printing has clean dot edges; fakes show visible halftone break-up.
Newly priced — reference table
Four sets received fresh BrickRanker data during the May 26–28 collection window. These are not today's ranked picks but are now tracked with current pricing.
| Set | MSRP | BR avg | vs. MSRP | 2-yr forecast | Data date | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 42158 Technic NASA Mars Perseverance Rover | $99.99 | $68.08 | −31.9% | +40.21% | Apr 26 (1 mo stale) | Highest 2-yr forecast in today's batch |
| 75401 SW Ahsoka's Jedi Interceptor | $44.99 | $32.83 | −27.0% | +14.13% | May 26 (fresh) | Minifig value = 78% of set total |
| 10338 Icons Bumblebee | $89.99 | $66.23 | −26.4% | +23.57% | May 26 (fresh) | 950 pcs; one May sale at $114.89 (above MSRP) |
| 42151 Technic Bugatti Bolide | $49.99 | $32.67 | −34.7% | n/a | Mar 26 (2 mo stale) | 2-yr forecast missing from BR; incomplete data |
A few notes on individual entries:
42158 NASA Mars Perseverance Rover carries the highest 2-year forecast of anything priced today at +40.21%, but the BrickRanker data is 1 month stale (April 26). At $68.08 vs. $99.99 MSRP, the −31.9% entry price is competitive. The Technic/space theme combination has a proven collector base. Treat the forecast as directional rather than current; a data refresh in the next run would confirm or revise it. 4
75401 Ahsoka's Jedi Interceptor is a compact 290-piece set where nearly the entire value sits in three minifigures (Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano are exclusive). 5 High minifig concentration elevates authentication risk — prioritize verifying the figures over the build when evaluating any listing.
10338 Bumblebee: the single May 2026 sale on BrickRanker came in at $114.89, well above the 6-month average of $66.23. 6 That outlier could be an anomaly (mis-entered price or premium sealed copy) or an early signal that the market is beginning to price in the July retirement. At 65 total lifetime sales, one sale is enough to skew interpretation — treat $66.23 as the reliable baseline.
42151 Bugatti Bolide is listed for completeness. The BrickRanker page is missing the 2-year forecast and piece count, and the data is 2 months old. Not actionable without a data refresh.
Batmobile 76328 — watch-and-wait
BrickRanker's current 6-month average for 76328 Batman: The Classic TV Series Batmobile is $133.90, which is −10.7% below the $149.99 MSRP. 8 The 2-year forecast is +18.53% across 45 total sales.
PriceCharting was inaccessible this run, so the BR-PC spread cannot be recalculated today. The previous confirmed spread was 17.9% (BR $134.78 vs. PC Complete $114.35). That gap — where BR's aggregated figure is significantly above PriceCharting's completed-eBay baseline — signals that the two data sources disagree on the current market price. Until PriceCharting is accessible again for verification, the Batmobile remains on watch-and-wait. Buying at $134 when the completed-eBay evidence last pointed to $114 is an asymmetric risk without fresh cross-confirmation.
Retirement tracker: 53 → 62 confirmed July sets
BrickRanker's retirement tracker now lists 62 sets retiring July 31, 2026 — up from the 53 confirmed in yesterday's run. 1 The gain of 9 sets came from expanded theme coverage rather than new retirement announcements, specifically:
- Disney: +5 sets
- Gabby's Dollhouse: +4 sets
- Jurassic World: +3 sets
- DreamZzz: +2 sets
- Friends: +1 set
- Minecraft: +1 set
Full cohort theme breakdown: Star Wars 13, Creator 9, Technic 9, Icons 9, Harry Potter 6, Gabby's Dollhouse 4, Disney 5 (estimate), Art 3, Ideas 3, Animal Crossing 3, Architecture 2, Jurassic World 3, DreamZzz 2, Friends 1, Minecraft 1. 1
With ~9 weeks until the retirement date, the window for secondary-market positioning in the broader wave is compressing. The newly added family-oriented themes (Gabby, Friends, DreamZzz) typically trade at lower absolute prices, but the Disney and Jurassic World additions may include sets with meaningful post-retirement collector demand depending on specific IP licenses.

Stale-data flags
Two sets in the July cohort remain on data watch.
| Set | Last BR update | Staleness | Issue |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10362 Icons French Café | Jan 26 | 4 months | 🚨 Low confidence; only 8 lifetime sales — not actionable |
| 10307 Icons Eiffel Tower | Mar 26 | 2 months | ⚠ Directional only; on cooldown to Jun 1 |
10362 French Café has been in this stale-data table for multiple consecutive runs. The 4-month data gap combined with only 8 lifetime sales makes the BR figures unreliable for any buy decision. Until a manual BrickLink or eBay sold-listing check refreshes the picture, treat this set as an unknown. 9
Price data: BrickRanker 6-month rolling averages as of May 26, 2026. PriceCharting inaccessible this run — BR-only confidence. No secondary-market listings with verifiable 24-hour timestamps were confirmed in today's observation window across Mercari, eBay, Depop, and Vinted. Buy guidance is based on available market data — not live listing prices. Verify listings independently before purchasing.
