Google's Own Engineers Are Now Coding on Claude Opus 5

Google turned on Claude Opus 5 for engineers across the company inside its internal development tool, Antigravity, and confirmed the change. Access comes with per-user quotas, and Google says Gemini stays its primary and foundational model for internal development, with third-party models available on a quota for specialized work. Google spent billions building Gemini and had long kept most employees off outside coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex, so handing out a rival's model says something about where the coding race stands.
