Manus social media digest: August 4, 2026 — A third-party connector, credit friction, and a 50-account claim
August 4 brought no verified Manus product change; social activity centered on a third-party ad-workflow connector, unverified credit and control complaints, and a challenged claim about running 50 social accounts.
At a glance
Coverage window: August 4, 2026, 00:00–24:00 in the channel's local time.
- No new original @ManusAI product post was returned for the day. The newest original post returned from the official timeline was the July 22 launch of Plan Mode, so it is older context rather than an August 4 release. 1
- The largest fresh signal was third-party. Notch's co-founder described a connector that puts Manus alongside ChatGPT and Claude in a research-to-live-Meta-ads workflow. The post had 288,824 views, 270 likes, 31 replies, 19 reposts, and 82 bookmarks when retrieved. 2
- The clearest negative signal was still operational. A Reddit user said a task consumed nearly 300,000 credits while repeatedly failing to follow instructions. That is unverified testimony, not a measured failure rate. 3
- A viral capability claim remained unverified. An English-language X post challenged the idea that Manus can run 50 social accounts around the clock without human involvement, saying the video looked like a phone-farm setup rather than an official demo. 4
- Reddit coverage is partial. The direct items below were readable and time-stamped, but they should not be treated as a full subreddit census.
The official feed stayed quiet
The @ManusAI timeline returned no original post dated August 4. Its newest returned post was the July 22 announcement of Plan Mode, which says Manus researches feasibility, surfaces edge cases, and waits for a user to confirm the plan before building. 1
That leaves a useful distinction for the day: the conversation moved, but the product record did not. None of the in-window material below establishes a new Manus feature, pricing change, benchmark, or official community announcement.
A third-party connector put Manus inside a larger ad workflow
On August 4, Vinay Jain, who identifies himself as a co-founder of Notch and a former Meta employee, promoted Notch MCP as an ad engine for ChatGPT, Claude, or Manus. His description runs from market research to asset creation, editing by chat, and publication to Meta without leaving the thread. 2
The reach was much larger than most Manus-specific posts in this scan: 288,824 views, 270 likes, 31 replies, 19 reposts, and 82 bookmarks at retrieval. 2 The reply stream included requests for the connector link and enthusiastic comments about keeping research and execution together, but that is launch-thread interest rather than independent confirmation of the workflow's reliability.
The important boundary is easy to miss. This is ecosystem positioning, not a Manus announcement. The post shows that a connector vendor wants Manus in its distribution story; it does not establish that Notch is an official Manus connector, that Manus has documented the integration, or that every step works without review.

The use-case layer was more specific than the product news
Three smaller posts described how people are trying to place Manus in a working stack:
- Research to context to a deliverable. Lia Zhang reduced a Manus workflow to three moves: research to a comparison table, an idea to a landing page, and project files to long-term context. She linked a Manus product video, but the post had 23 views and did not show a completed task or an independent evaluation. 5
- Market research beside sales copy. A self-described low-ticket-offer marketer said Claude Opus would write the product and sales copy, Manus would handle market research, and ClickFunnels would hold checkout. The post had 439 views, 11 likes, 5 replies, and 1 repost, and ended with a request for people to comment for a guide. That makes it a promotional anecdote, not evidence that the promised funnel produced a sale. 6
- Product-side context practice. Louisa, whose profile describes her as working in product at Manus, said she puts brief notes above a longer section marked as drafted by Manus in her PRDs. She also wrote that Manus accuracy is "super high." This is an employee-side view of how to use the product, not a company-level accuracy claim or a benchmark. 7
Together, these posts point to a consistent demand: people want Manus to preserve context across research, planning, and execution. They do not answer whether the agent follows instructions reliably enough to be left alone.
Credit and control friction remained visible
A separate X post from Luke, who identifies himself as Head of Developer Relations at Speechify, described a cost-driven move away from prepaid Manus or Claude accounts. He said cheap usage from on-device tooling had made those prepaid accounts more expensive by comparison, and that he was moving his household to Chatbox AI plus Opencode Zen. 8 It is one user's purchasing decision, not a market-wide price comparison, but it captures the pressure behind many credit complaints: the bill is judged against alternatives, not against the agent's capabilities in isolation.
Another short X post said only "domain still hostage" while tagging @ManusAI. No resolution or account context was visible in the returned post, so it remains unverified user testimony. Domain and migration complaints matter more than a generic dislike because they concern whether a live project can be moved or recovered. 9
Reddit supplied the most detailed current complaint. The author of a post titled "Dont go anywhere near Manus AI" wrote that nearly 300,000 credits had been used, compared that with an estimated 50,000 credits for a comparable Claude task, and claimed Manus repeatedly changed little or nothing while consuming more credits. The author also alleged that code, logic, secrets, or API settings were changed during failed attempts. The post had a score of 9, an upvote ratio of 0.909, and 18 comments when retrieved. Every part of that account is still an individual report. 3

The replies did not produce a clean verdict. One commenter argued that open-ended tasks need explicit boundaries and verification, then claimed a tightly scoped $2,000 audit became an $18,500 pilot and recurring work; that comment was returned with a score of 0. 10 Another reply said there was no longer a chat function after someone suggested using chat for planning to avoid credit burn. 11 The useful conclusion is narrower than either side's rhetoric: task boundaries and verification are part of the user experience, but the thread does not establish how often failures occur or who bears the cost when they do.
A preview-pane complaint got a community workaround
An older r/ManusOfficial thread about a missing live preview received a new reply during the window. The original author said the preview pane and top-level Preview button had disappeared from the desktop and web interfaces. A commenter suggested looking for the small processing window in the prompt and using the Open Website control to regain visibility. 12
That is a useful piece of support-shaped information, but it is not an official fix. The reply also shows why a single complaint should not be turned into a product-wide conclusion: the thread contains a possible navigation workaround, not a confirmed UI change or a response from Manus.
The 50-account story had attention but no primary proof
One English-language post pushed back against a circulating claim that Manus can operate 50 social-media accounts continuously without human involvement. The author said the video looked like a regular phone-farm or multi-account setup and not an official Manus demonstration. The post itself had 207 views and 1 like when retrieved. 4
The rebuttal is not proof that the capability is impossible. It is a warning that the claim lacks a primary source in the material found here. The official timeline did not supply a matching demonstration, and the claim should stay in the unconfirmed bucket rather than being repeated as a Manus feature.
Analysis and community programming added little new activity
A Financial Management account promoted an analysis of Manus and autonomous agents, framing the next phase of AI adoption as independently completing multistep tasks rather than merely generating information. The X post had 32 views and linked to the article, so it is a small media-visibility signal, not an independent product review or benchmark. 13
The adjacent @manuscommunity timeline also returned no August 4 post. Its newest returned English post was the July 6 Small Business Showcase announcement, which said submissions would close July 31 and winners would be announced August 7; that is older program context, not fresh activity in this window. 14
Readout
August 4 produced no verified product change, but it sharpened the surrounding adoption picture.
- A third-party connector put Manus in a high-reach story about moving from research to live advertising, while offering no proof of official integration or reliable execution.
- Smaller posts treated Manus as a research and context layer inside mixed-tool workflows, including a product employee's PRD practice and a marketer's sales-funnel pitch.
- Reddit supplied a serious, unverified credit-and-control complaint alongside comments arguing that tighter scopes and verification can change the outcome.
- The 50-account claim remained a rumor under challenge, not a demonstrated capability.
For anyone deciding whether to trust Manus with an unattended workflow, the day's material supports a practical distinction: the use-case breadth is visible; the reliability, cost control, and official status of many integrations are not.
