Roblox morning briefing — October 26, 2026: Murder Mystery 2 loses 1.66 million players overnight, and the password field gets a new rule
Roblox blocked bot accounts overnight and Murder Mystery 2's count fell from 1.87 million to 210,021, a new rule appeared inside the password field, and The Hollow's fourth night paid out four rewards before it named The Deer.
The game that led Roblox's playing-now chart yesterday morning holds 210,021 players today, against 1,869,009 at the same hour on Sunday. 12
Roblox's password field now refuses a new password made only of letters, and its help centre articles describe no such rule. 3
The Hollow named The Deer as the monster for its fourth night at 17:06 on Sunday, seventy-three minutes after four new rewards had begun paying out. 45
This edition covers the 24 hours to 08:00 on Monday 26 October. Player counts were read at 08:08 Central European time.
Roblox blocked bot accounts overnight, and Murder Mystery 2 fell by 1.66 million
MM2 Overview, an account that tracks the game, posted at 02:57 that Roblox had "once again restricted bot accounts from joining games". 2
It put the loss at roughly 1,600,000 concurrent players inside an hour, and called this the second time Roblox has done it. 2
Colbe, an MM2 news creator with 10,200 followers, had reported the action forty minutes earlier, in the Halloween event. 6
The count had peaked at 2,235,845 on Sunday evening at 21:48. The same tracker estimated 626,036 of those, or 28%, were legitimate. 7
At 03:18 it posted screenshots with the line that servers were looking significantly clearer. 8
The dialog inside its first post is what a blocked device shows instead of the game. It reads "This game has enabled additional hardware security requirements. Please run Roblox on a supported device", with error code 317. 2
Four mornings tell the shape of it: 657,229 on Friday, 1,274,657 on Saturday, 1,869,009 on Sunday, 210,021 today. 1
Roblox's chart now puts the game fourth, behind Steal An Egg on 1,005,565, Steal a Brainrot on 269,685 and Brookhaven on 241,063. 9
Roblox's other big experiences mostly fell, and by a third to half where they did. Murder Mystery 2 fell by 88.8 per cent.
| Experience | 08:08 today | 08:10 Sunday | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Murder Mystery 2 | 210,021 | 1,869,009 | −88.8% |
| Steal An Egg | 974,840 | 1,520,581 | −35.9% |
| Brookhaven | 241,345 | 413,336 | −41.6% |
| 99 Nights in the Forest | 180,462 | 267,809 | −32.6% |
| RIVALS | 124,147 | 217,882 | −43.0% |
| Dress To Impress | 47,904 | 96,135 | −50.2% |
| DOORS | 35,949 | 64,353 | −44.1% |
| The Hollow | 25,024 | 46,370 | −46.0% |
Two gained: Break and Steal an Egg added 15,287 players and The Mimic 1,750. 1
The game's own listing has not moved since 21 October at 20:33. Its Halloween card, "A retro Halloween", was already running on Friday, when the count was 657,229. 10
Roblox has posted nothing about the restriction. The announcements board has added nothing since Friday's weekly recap, and every system on the status page reads operational. 1112
August is the reference point. When Roblox moved against bot accounts then, the game fell by about 500,000 in a day. 13
Shorts angle: open one public server and walk it. A chart says 210,021; a server shows what that number looks like at floor level, and last week's version of the same shot looked nothing like it.
Roblox's password field now asks for a letter and a number
RTC, a Roblox news account with 1.36 million followers, posted a screenshot of the password field at 03:14 this morning. 3
The field rejects "secretpassword" and prints a red line underneath: "Password must contain at least one letter and at least one number or symbol." 3
RTC describes that as the first change to the rules in over ten years, made on top of the existing eight-character minimum. 3
Roblox's help article on changing a password states none of this. Its text was last edited in November 2025, and it covers which button to press. 14
The article that does discuss choosing a password, Keep Your Account Safe, recommends a unique one and points to 2-Step Verification. 15
A password with a digit or a symbol in it clears the field. One without fails it. 3
Roblox has published no list of the screens that carry the rule, and no note on whether existing passwords will be asked to change. 1415
Shorts angle: type "secretpassword" into the field on camera and let the red line land, then set one that clears it. That screenshot is currently the only place the rule is written down.
The Hollow's fourth night: The Deer, and four rewards that landed first
Roblox posted at 17:06 on Sunday: "forget 99 nights. try surviving one. tonight, The Deer is hunting you in The Hollow." 4
It carried 85,196 views and 799 likes by this morning. 4
The Deer is the monster from 99 Nights in the Forest, one of nine experiences in the event. 16
The rewards went out at 15:53, seventy-three minutes before the name. Four badges joined the hub's list overnight: it held 18 yesterday morning and 22 today. 5
| New reward | Awards | Stamped |
|---|---|---|
| Boo & Bub | 765,204 | Sun 15:53 |
| Chrome Deer Skull Chain | 562,889 | Sun 15:53 |
| The Great White Pumpkin | 388,401 | Sun 15:53 |
| Anomaly Detection Rig | 224,628 | Sun 15:53 |
Across all 22 rewards the hub has handed out 21,834,486 awards, against 15.9 million yesterday morning. 5
The hub itself shows 76,744,372 visits and 25,211 players, against 59,884,506 and 46,370 yesterday. 117
The catalogue had the items first. On 24 October at 07:21, Rolimons listed a fresh batch of Halloween accessories including The Great White Pumpkin and Chrome Deer Skull Chain, all of them off sale. 18
Shorts angle: the badge list is a public scoreboard. Film the four new names appearing, then your own attempt at the one with 224,628 awards; the gap to 765,204 tells the audience which is hard.
Top Fall Games to Watch
Every date was read this morning from the game's own listing. Times are Central European.
- The Hollow — The Deer streams with Bundun at 23:00 tonight, Hiachi with Kim Left Arm at 13:00 on Tuesday, Mimic Anomaly with Kat at 20:00 on Wednesday. 17 Pitch: film the streamer's round, then your own attempt at the same monster in the same hour.
- The Mimic — Nightmare Circus Returns is live, and the card reading "The Mimic x Ken Carson, an official collab event" is dated today at 18:00. 19 Pitch: an official card with a time is the opener; then walk into the first room the update added.
- Murder Mystery 2 — the Halloween event, "A retro Halloween", is live and open to join. 10 Pitch: the audience has watched this number all week; walk one round now and show them the game behind it.
- Tower Defense Simulator — Solar Requiem Night III is live, and Night IV opens at 17:00 on Friday 30 October. 20 Pitch: clear Night III before Friday and hold the footage, so the Night IV clip opens with the round the audience knows you beat.
- Adopt Me! — Halloween Week 4 is live, 2D Tuesday runs at midnight into Wednesday, and the Halloween Bonus Weekend starts at 17:05 on Friday 30 October. 21 Pitch: the bonus weekend doubles bucks and XP, so film one pet grinded inside it against the same hour outside it.
- Dandy's World — the Halloween event is live, and "Final Week of Halloween!" starts at 20:00 on Friday 30 October. 22 Pitch: Twisted Dandy is the monster the audience met in The Hollow, so film its home game while the event is still running.
- Dress To Impress — the Halloween update and the Tales of the Dark King quest are both live, with no date on either card. 23 Pitch: one outfit brief, two runs, the Halloween round and the quest, cut as before and after.
- Animal Hospital — the Halloween update is live, and Halloween Part 2 opens at 20:00 on Saturday 31 October, on Halloween night itself. 24 Pitch: film one clean shift now and keep it for the comparison when Part 2 lands.
