SF Bay Area Events: TechCrunch Disrupt Week, October 12–18, 2026

A ranked shortlist of the Bay Area's AI, founder, robotics and builder events for TechCrunch Disrupt week, October 12 to 18, 2026, with registration status, quality signals and a direct link for every entry.

SF Bay Area Events of the Week
SF Bay Area Events of the Week@NeoDrop Official
TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 is the shape of this week. It runs Tuesday, October 13 through Thursday, October 15 in San Francisco, brings together more than 10,000 founders, investors and operators, and still has passes on sale at US$949, US$999 and US$1,099. Rivian's RJ Scaringe, Hugging Face's Irene Solaiman and Amazon's Panos Panay are on the speaker list. 1
Two more umbrellas open inside the same three days. SF Funds Week puts the CoinAlts 2026 Fund Symposium on Wednesday, October 14. 2 The OCP Global Summit takes the same three days in San Jose for the people building data-centre hardware and the silicon underneath AI training. 3
Friday is where the second half of the week changes character. Open Source AI Week opens its ten-day Bay Area run on October 16, with the PyTorch Conference on October 20–21 and AGNTCon + MCPCon North America on October 22–23 as its flagship events. 4 Friday's kick-off party is the fifth entry in the table below.
Everything here was checked on Sunday, October 11, 2026, and the times are Pacific. Nothing in the priority list had closed by that morning, so the friction this week sits in approvals rather than in sold-out rooms. Several of the openings below take applications rather than RSVPs, and those are worth filing Sunday night rather than Tuesday.

The week at a glance

Ranking weighs topic relevance first, then the evidence of quality: who is hosting, whether a programme or a speaker list is published, how selective the room is, and whether registration is still open. The status in each row is what the event's own page reported on October 11.

A workshop day, and the fund week's opening party

Open Intelligence Summit starts with its workshop day, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at The Midway. DigitalOcean runs it around a plain question: who owns the intelligence your product runs on. The room is for builders who want to ship a real project on open weights and open agents, and the page states the day's output — a working thing by the end of it. Status: confirmed listing; workshop day full when checked. The summit's own site is the route in. Request a seat at the Open Intelligence Summit. 5
The Big Cayman Bash opens SF Funds Week at 6:00 PM, three days early. Cayman Finance hosts a kick-off party for the fund managers and founders arriving for the week, and it runs on approval rather than open RSVP. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required. Request entry to the Big Cayman Bash. 20
The Future of Work Social Mixer + Open Demos runs from 5:00 PM in San Francisco with 876 going, and the format is in the title: worktech, robotics and agentic AI demos, then the room. Ontology of Value hosts. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, 876 going. Register for the Future of Work mixer. 21
Long Lead Time, Syntro's hardware happy hour for the people making robots, rockets and chips, runs 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Disrupt's eve. Cost of entry is a short application and 283 people had filed when the page was checked. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required, 283 going. Request entry to Long Lead Time. 22

Tuesday, October 13

Disrupt opens, and the summit's main day

Open Intelligence Summit holds its main day, 11:30 AM to 6:30 PM at The Midway. The published line-up is the reason to go: Paddy Srinivasan, chief executive of DigitalOcean; Sam Herring, a machine learning engineer at Nous Research; Adel El Hallak, vice president of product for NVIDIA AI; Viviana Márquez of LiquidAI; Lei Xu, co-founder and chief technology officer of LanceDB; and Vanessa Larco, co-founder of Premise. The argument the day is built on is that open weights have stopped being the cheap option and started being the question of who controls the stack. Status: confirmed listing; seat requests open when checked. Request a seat at the Open Intelligence Summit. 5
AI Builder's Night starts at 6:00 PM at Local Edition, run by Modal, and it is the Disrupt-week room for people who would rather compare notes on inference than walk the expo floor. Approval is required. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required. Request entry to AI Builder's Night. 23
Foundry Robotics x Disrupt Happy Hour runs from 5:00 PM at Harlan Records with 93 going, for the robotics founders and engineers in town for the week. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required, 93 going. Request entry to the Foundry Robotics happy hour. 24
Agentic + AI Observability Meetup SF starts at 5:00 PM and had already filled when the page was checked, with a waitlist as the way in. Status: confirmed listing; full when checked, 110 going, waitlist open. Join the Agentic + AI Observability waitlist. 25

Wednesday, October 14

A hackathon, a fireside and two founder dinners

Fast Forward runs 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Vercel and Meta run it with Shopify and Neon Postgres behind the integrations, and the tracks are named on the page: agents and factories, multimodal AI apps, and immersive VR. Mentors are on the floor, finalists present live at the end, and 247 people had signed up when it was checked. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required, 247 going. Request entry to Fast Forward. 8
The Trillion Dollar Teams puts Vinod Khosla in a room at 4:00 PM for a conversation about what it takes to build a company at that scale. Outcast Ventures hosts, and the address goes to approved guests. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required. Request entry to The Trillion Dollar Teams. 12
The Junto Founder Dinner sits down at 6:30 PM, hosted by Andrew Yeung and friends. It is the first of his two dinners this week, both capped by review, and both aimed at founders rather than a general tech crowd. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required. Request entry to the Junto Founder Dinner. 13
Engineering the Physical World with AI starts at 6:00 PM at Humanmade with 108 going, P-1 AI's evening on the models and hardware that leave the screen behind. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required, 108 going. Request entry to Engineering the Physical World with AI. 16
Marketing Engineer Meetup SF runs from 6:00 PM with 322 going, Amplitude's room for the people who build the automation behind growth. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, 322 going. Register for the Marketing Engineer Meetup. 26

Thursday, October 15

A conference stage, and the infrastructure room

Vercel Ship 26 takes the Palace of Fine Arts for the day, starting at 9:00 AM. The speaker list is the draw: Guillermo Rauch, founder and chief executive of Vercel; Tobias Lütke, chief executive of Shopify; Katelyn Lesse, head of platform engineering at Anthropic; Prashant Ratanchandani, vice president of engineering at Meta Superintelligence Labs; Olawale Oladehin, a managing director at AWS; and Matt Palmer of SpaceXAI. The published sessions are hands-on — building a durable backend agent from an empty folder, for one. A free virtual ticket covers the stream for anyone who cannot make the hall. Status: confirmed listing; registration open when checked. Get a ticket to Vercel Ship 26. 6
The CoreWeave x NVIDIA Dynamo Meetup starts at 6:00 PM with 88 going. NVIDIA runs it on serving models at scale on its own runtime. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required, 88 going. Request entry to the CoreWeave x NVIDIA Dynamo Meetup. 17
The Fireside Chat with Tony Zhao runs at 5:30 PM at South Park Commons. Zhao founded Sunday Robotics, one of the Bay Area companies working on robots for the home, and the conversation is timed for the part of the week when the hardware people are all in town. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required. Request entry to the Tony Zhao fireside. 15
The Extraordinary Founders Dinner is Andrew Yeung's second table of the week, at 6:30 PM. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required. Request entry to the Extraordinary Founders Dinner. 14
LlamaIndex x Corgi: Doc Chai Launch Party runs 8:00 to 11:00 AM at Corgi Cafe, 9 Claude Ln, and it asks nothing of the week. LlamaIndex is launching a drink rather than a product: an iced toasted brown sugar chai, free for the first 100 guests, with a DJ taking requests and merch on the table. 211 people had RSVP'd and 109 more were interested. Status: confirmed listing; RSVP open when checked, 211 going. RSVP for the Doc Chai launch. 19

Friday, October 16

Open Source AI Week opens, and two builds precede it

Crusoe Field Day: Build, Train, Deploy runs 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Civil War Parade Ground in the Presidio. Crusoe puts strangers into random teams and races them to take a model from raw data to production, which is a useful rehearsal for Saturday's hackathon in the same company's stack. Spots are limited, and the page says so plainly. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, spots limited. Register for Crusoe Field Day. 10
Open Together: AI Builders Unite opens Open Source AI Week at 6:00 PM at The Midway. Hugging Face is throwing it, free to everyone, and the shape is a meetup and community demos until 9:00 PM and then a dance party with DJs until midnight. Arcee AI and Reflection AI sponsor, and the first 100 builders through the door get swag. 569 had signed up by Sunday. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, 569 going. Register for Open Together. 9
Find a Cofounder, Help or Join a Startup runs 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Sports Basement, 1590 Bryant St. The format is published: open networking, then short pitches from founders who sign up at the door, then a breakout group for each founder who pitched. Status: confirmed listing; tickets on sale when checked. Open the Find a Cofounder page. 27

Saturday, October 17

Two hackathons, a conference across the Bay, and a movie

The Recursive Agents Hackathon runs 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM at Shack15. Cerebral Valley and Crusoe want agents that outlive the demo: teams of up to four build systems that plan, spin up sub-agents, delegate, check their own progress and recover without a human watching. Crusoe Managed Inference and NVIDIA infrastructure carry the models, including the Nemotron family, and the prizes are specific — US$25,000 in cash and an NVIDIA RTX 5090 for the winning team. Everyone applies, and approved participants compete. Status: confirmed listing; application and approval required. Apply for the Recursive Agents Hackathon. 7
The ExecuTorch Hackathon starts at 10:00 AM at Founders, Inc. in Fort Mason and runs through 7:00 PM on Sunday. It is the on-device end of the same week: teams of three to five build AI experiences that run on edge hardware through ExecuTorch, the open-source framework for deploying PyTorch models on device. Meta, Qualcomm, GitHub, the PyTorch Foundation and the Open Intelligence Foundation back it, capacity is 200 participants, and the devices are limited. Status: confirmed listing; application required when checked. Apply for the ExecuTorch Hackathon. 11
MITAI Conference 2026: Age of Agency takes the Computer History Museum in Mountain View from 8:15 AM to 7:00 PM. This is the tenth annual run of the MIT alumni AI conference, and the organisers describe 500 executives, founders, researchers and investors across a day of workshops, demos and talks. Tickets were US$314 when checked. Status: confirmed listing; tickets on sale when checked. Open the MITAI Conference ticket page. 18
PlanetScale Movie Night: You Can See Everything starts at 5:30 PM at AMC Kabuki 8, with approval required. A movie night at the Kabuki, for anyone who wants an evening away from the build rooms. Status: confirmed listing; registration open, approval required. Request entry to PlanetScale Movie Night. 28

Sunday, October 18

The builds finish, and the open-source week has a happy hour

The ExecuTorch Hackathon closes its second day at 7:00 PM, after a night of teams shipping onto edge devices. If you missed Saturday's start, the demo day is still the part worth watching. Status: confirmed listing; application was required when checked. Apply for the ExecuTorch Hackathon. 11
InclusionAI Tech Night: Your AI Reality Check runs 4:00 to 8:00 PM in San Francisco. Ant Open Source hosts it as an Open Source AI Week happy hour for the developers and researchers building open models and agent systems, with drinks and food. Status: confirmed listing; registration open when checked. Register for InclusionAI Tech Night. 29

How to choose

  • If you want to file one application tonight. The Recursive Agents Hackathon pays out US$25,000 and an RTX 5090, and it takes teams of four on approval. The ExecuTorch Hackathon is the other application worth starting early, because capacity is 200 and the edge devices are the constraint.
  • If you want a conference stage. Vercel Ship 26 takes the Palace of Fine Arts on Thursday, with Shopify, Anthropic, Meta Superintelligence Labs and AWS on the speaker list.
  • If you want the technical argument. Fast Forward builds all day Wednesday with Vercel and Meta, and the Open Intelligence Summit's main day on Tuesday argues about who owns the stack.
  • If you want founders and capital in a small room. Both of Andrew Yeung's dinners run on review, on Wednesday and Thursday, and the Trillion Dollar Teams fireside puts Vinod Khosla in front of a small room the same Wednesday afternoon.
  • If you want a night with no build attached. The Doc Chai launch at Corgi Cafe on Thursday morning, Open Together's dance party at The Midway on Friday, and the PlanetScale movie night at the Kabuki on Saturday.
  • If you are planning around a trip. Three entries sit outside San Francisco: the Company Brain Hackathon in Menlo Park on Monday, the OCP Global Summit's week in San Jose, and the MITAI Conference at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View on Saturday.

Source boundaries and disclosures

This is a curated shortlist of the Bay Area technology, AI, founder and builder events worth knowing about for October 12 to 18, 2026, the week TechCrunch Disrupt runs. Every date, time, venue and access state came from the event's own page, and registration status is what those pages reported on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Where an entry gives no street address, the host has kept it private and releases it to registered or approved guests.
Luma's San Francisco discovery listing carried the bulk of the recall, and the Open Source AI Week calendar on Luma supplied the second half of the week, including the ExecuTorch Hackathon and the InclusionAI happy hour. Cerebral Valley's events directory surfaced the Recursive Agents Hackathon. Partiful's San Francisco explore page carried two entries, the LlamaIndex launch and the Golden Gate Walk Club. Eventbrite's date-filtered San Francisco technology listings for the window were mostly recurring networking nights; the two that published an agenda, both on founders, are included. Foundercal's San Francisco calendar listed no event dated after October 10 this run, so it contributed nothing to this issue. The Disrupt dates, ticket tiers and speaker list come from TechCrunch's own event site, and the Open Source AI Week dates and flagship events come from the Linux Foundation's page for it.
Ranking weighs registration state heavily, which is why the rooms that had already filled sit inside the day sections rather than at the top of the table. Where an entry says the room was full, the waitlist is the way in, and hosts release places from it as the date nears.
