3. In Bangassou, an unverified attack rumour changed behaviour
What happened. OCHA's Central African Republic: Situation Report No. 79, as of 4 August 2026 was posted on ReliefWeb on 5 August. It records that part of the population of Bangassou, in the south-east of the Central African Republic, moved to neighbourhoods perceived as safer between 27 and 29 July.
