Audi RS Q e-tron leads Jun 8 radar — best forecast ceiling and cooldown lifted
LEGO Technic 42160 Audi RS Q e-tron takes the Jun 8 lead on its first BrickRanker probe — −26.8% off its $179.99 MSRP with the highest forecast ceiling in the 14-set tracked field (+60.22%). Runner-up 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 posts the field's highest liquidity at 321 monthly sales and a −26.1% discount, also entering on its first probe after cooldown. The biggest story is 42130 BMW M 1000 RR: a 101-day data stale cleared to reveal a +$33.24 price surge, collapsing its discount from −27.4% to −14.1%. Bugatti Bolide holds the deepest discount (−36.1%) for the 10th straight run with no post-retirement forecast. 29th consecutive zero-listing run on all secondary-market platforms.
Two cooldown-lifted Technic sets — 42160 Audi RS Q e-tron and 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 — re-enter today's eligible pool and immediately claim the top two spots. Both receive their first-ever BrickRanker (a LEGO secondary-market price tracking site) price probes this run, establishing fresh baselines. Across the wider 14-set tracked field, the uniform +0.34%–+0.37% price rise seen on Jun 7 reversed: 10 of 12 sets recorded ~0.4% declines today. The one exception worth watching is 42130 BMW M 1000 RR — its BrickRanker data refreshed after 101 days of staleness and revealed a +$33.24 price surge that collapses its former deep-discount status. Secondary-market platforms return zero verified new listings for the 29th consecutive run.

#1 — 42160 Audi RS Q e-tron
Set 42160-1 | LEGO Technic | 914 pieces | no minifigures | MSRP $179.99 | Estimated retirement Jul 2026
BrickRanker's 6-month rolling average is $131.70 — a −26.8% discount ($48.29 below retail). The 2-year post-retirement forecast range is +32.49% to +60.22%. 1
Loading content card…
The forecast upper bound of +60.22% is the highest among all 14 sets currently tracked — the next closest is 42161 Lamborghini at +49.06%, but that figure rests on 74-day-stale data. The Audi's data is 13 days old (May 26), which is well within the freshness threshold. 1
The discount of −26.8% represents a $48 saving on a $179.99 set — deeper than the Ferrari runner-up by 0.7 percentage points and comparable to the Acclamator and Bumblebee, both currently on cooldown. Monthly sales of 52 are below the Ferrari's 321 but reflect the higher price point ($179.99 Technic sets naturally trade less frequently than $50 sets). The secondary market for this set is functioning but not deep enough to eliminate exit risk. 1
One caveat to note: the forecast range spans 27.7 percentage points (+32.49% low to +60.22% high), which is wide. The lower bound alone (+32.49%) is still a healthy appreciation signal, but buyers relying on the upper bound are factoring in a more optimistic outcome. This is today's top-ranked set because both bounds are positive and the upper bound leads the entire tracked field. 1
The Audi RS Q e-tron (official LEGO designation: "Audi RS Q e-tron," the electric Dakar rally racer Audi debuted competitively from 2022) is a 914-piece Technic model featuring working suspension, steerable front axle, and a detailed interior cockpit. There are no minifigures, so authentication focus is entirely on construction quality.
Authentication notes for 42160: Technic sets this large are primarily counterfeited as complete-build replicas rather than part-for-part fakes. Key checks: (a) the distinctive orange roll cage subassembly should use standard Technic beams — bootleg versions often substitute shorter beams that distort the cage geometry; (b) the large black off-road tires are a frequently substituted component in fake builds — verify they are soft-rubber compound rather than hard plastic; (c) sealed-box buyers should weigh against the expected ~1,900g for a 914-piece set and request a weight confirmation.
#2 — 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3
Set 42143-1 | LEGO Technic | 3,778 pieces | no minifigures | MSRP $449.99 | Estimated retirement Jul 2026
BrickRanker's 6-month rolling average is $332.59 — a −26.1% discount ($117.40 below retail). The 2-year post-retirement forecast range is +1.68% to +40.10%. Data updated Jun 26 (fresh). 2
The standout number here is liquidity. 321 monthly sales since June 2022 puts 42143 ahead of every other set in the current tracked field — the next most liquid is 42130 BMW at 207 monthly sales. For a $449.99 set, that sustained trading depth is meaningful: it means buyers can exit without having to wait for a rare willing counterparty. 2
The forecast range requires some realism. The lower bound of +1.68% is nearly flat — that outcome, while technically positive, would mean no meaningful appreciation after retirement. The upper bound (+40.10%) is healthy but not exceptional. This is a set where the liquidity story carries more weight than the forecast story: buyers getting in at $332 for a $450 retail set are benefiting from a deep current discount; whether the set grows further from there depends heavily on post-retirement demand patterns. 2
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is LEGO Technic's 1:8 scale supercar series flagship (a line that includes sets like the McLaren Senna and Lamborghini Sián). At 3,778 pieces it is among the largest Technic sets by part count.
Authentication notes for 42143: At $332+ resale value, counterfeiting pressure on this set is high. Key checks: (a) the dark-red bodywork panels use a specific LEGO Technic panel form-factor; bootleg panels tend to have visible molding seams on the outer face rather than the inner; (b) the engine block assembly under the rear clamshell should include a V12 configuration with correctly colored pinion pieces — simplified or miscolored engine internals are a common fake tell; (c) sealed-box buyers should weigh before purchase — a legitimate 3,778-piece set at this part density will be substantially heavy; request the seller's weight confirmation.
No-forecast wildcard — 42151 Bugatti Bolide
Set 42151-1 | LEGO Technic | ~905 pieces | no minifigures | MSRP $49.99 | Estimated retirement Jul 2026
BrickRanker's 6-month rolling average is $31.96 — a −36.1% discount ($18.03 below retail). That is the deepest discount in the entire 14-set tracked field by a meaningful margin. The discount deepened 1.4 percentage points vs. Jun 7 ($32.65 → $31.96). Post-retirement forecast: MISSING for the 10th consecutive run. 3
The missing forecast is a persistent BrickRanker data issue — the site's piece count field for this set reads as zero (the actual count is approximately 905), and the forecast engine apparently cannot compute without it. That field has been blank across every probe since this tracking began, so it should be treated as a permanent gap rather than a lag.
For buyers who make decisions on discount alone: −36.1% on a $49.99 entry-level Technic supercar at a $32 floor price is a straightforward case. For buyers who need a ROI estimate before committing, there is no BrickRanker projection to reference. 3
Market alert — 42130 BMW M 1000 RR
Set 42130-1 | LEGO Technic | 1,920 pieces | no minifigures | MSRP $249.99 | Estimated retirement Jul 2026
This set carried a −27.4% discount in the Jun 7 run based on a BrickRanker price of $181.47 — data that was already 100+ days stale. Today's refresh reveals the actual current 6-month average is $214.71, a +$33.24 (+18.3%) surge from the stale reading. The discount has collapsed to −14.1%. 4
At −14.1%, 42130 no longer belongs in the deal column. A $35 saving on a $250 set is modest, and the secondary market at $214 leaves a narrower margin than the two Technic cars at the top of today's rankings. The data refresh itself is the story: this is a demonstration that BrickRanker stale data can significantly misrepresent where a set is actually trading, and that a 100-day gap can hide a $33 price movement. The updated forecast range (+7.86% to +40.10%) is also less compelling than the previously reported stale figure. 4
With 207 monthly sales and fresh data, 42130 is not a bad set — just no longer a good deal at current prices.
Stale-data watch — 42161 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica
Set 42161-1 | LEGO Technic | 806 pieces | no minifigures | MSRP $49.99 | Estimated retirement Jul 2026
BrickRanker's 6-month rolling average is $37.96 — a −24.1% discount. The 2-year post-retirement forecast is +26.24% to +49.06%. 5
The caveat: data was last updated March 26, now 74 days stale. With only 23 monthly sales, even a handful of transactions since March could have moved the 6-month average meaningfully. The forecast range — which would be the second-best upper bound in the tracked field — should be treated as a March snapshot, not a current reading. If and when BrickRanker refreshes this set's data, it becomes eligible for lead consideration. Until then, the stale-data risk keeps it off the actionable list. 5

Among sets returning Jun 13, Home One at −31.1% and Acclamator at −27.2% carry the deepest discounts. N-1 Starfighter and Obi-Wan's Starfighter return Jun 14 with fresh Jun 26 data; 75333 also received a data correction this run — the BrickRanker price was revised down from $43.63 (which sat above MSRP, a likely data error) to $22.83, with sales count corrected from 254 to 1,568. 7
Platform scanner: 29th consecutive zero
All four monitored platforms — eBay, Mercari, Vinted, and Depop — returned zero timestamp-verified new listings in the 24-hour window ending Jun 8, 15:00 ET. eBay returned one search result for a LEGO Monkie Kid's Combi Mech 80040 listing (released 2023, 277 pieces), but the set is not confirmed retired and the page could not be fetched to verify whether the listing was genuinely new or simply reindexed by the search engine. Mercari, Vinted, and Depop were clean. This is the 29th consecutive run without a confirmed new listing on any monitored secondary-market platform.
