Bay Area flight deals radar: SAS Norway from $594, Marrakech $643, and three bonuses ending Wednesday (2026)

Seven SFO fares landed on The Flight Deal between September 21 and September 26, and two of them are the lowest this board has carried on their routes. Scandinavian Airlines posted Bergen and Stavanger at $594 round trip on September 24 and 25, under the $677 the board showed for Stavanger on July 6. United's Marrakech fare came in at $643, down from the $789 this board carried on August 3. 1 2 3

Delta added Malaga at $618, and Cathay Pacific and Korean Air filled in three Asia routes from $795 to $850. The tightest clock of the week sits on the points side, where three transfer bonuses close on Wednesday, September 30. 4 5 6

The Flight Deal prints the same warning on every page: a fare is usually gone two days after it is posted. Every cash fare on this board was posted on September 21 or later, so each is worth pricing today, and the reprice-first language that ran in earlier issues comes out this week. 7

One rule governs the points entries below. Transfer balances only after the exact award flight, cabin and date are visible on the airline's own search, because a bonus that arrives without award space buys nothing. 6

The dated fares come from The Flight Deal's San Francisco feed and its individual deal pages. The Oakland and San Jose rows come from the airlines' own route pages, and each carries a collection stamp from inside the past 24 hours. 7 10 11

Norway at $594, and the fare family that decides it

Scandinavian Airlines posted Bergen on September 24 and Stavanger on September 25, both from SFO through Copenhagen, both in T class. Each carries the airline's Economy Light rules. A checked bag costs $75 each way when bought at least 22 hours before check-in and $105 at the airport counter, changes are barred, and a cancellation after the 24-hour risk-free window leaves the ticket with no value. Both fares need a Sunday stay. 1 2

The Regular fare costs $100 more and includes one checked bag each way. One checked bag on the Light fare costs $150 round trip, so a traveler who checks a bag comes out $50 ahead on Regular. A traveler who packs in a carry-on keeps the $594 price by accepting a fixed itinerary. 1 2

Advance purchase splits the pair. Stavanger needs a booking at least 7 days before departure. Bergen needs 28 days, which puts a late-October trip out of reach for anyone booking this week. Both sample dates sit in the last week of October, and both fares carry limited availability. 1 2

Both flights earn Delta credit as SkyTeam itineraries. Stavanger books $581 in Medallion Qualifying Dollars and Bergen $589. 1 2

Malaga and Marrakech reach southern Europe and North Africa

Delta posted SFO–Malaga at $618 Basic or $858 Regular on September 21, routed through Paris, with a sample of April 15–22, 2027 and travel open from late October into April. The Regular fare includes advance seat assignment, a normal carry-on and one checked bag. The Basic fare charges $75 each way for the first bag and $100 for the second, and bars changes, cancellations and mileage earning. 4

One checked bag on that Basic fare costs $150 round trip and brings the ticket to $768. The Regular fare costs $90 more, and advance seat selection is the difference a traveler pays it for. 4

United's SFO–Marrakech fare is the cheaper of the two at $643 Basic or $883 Regular, routed through Newark, with a sample of January 19–27, 2027 and a mid-January-to-February window that runs Sunday through Wednesday out and Tuesday through Friday back. The Regular fare includes one checked bag and a normal carry-on. The Basic fare charges $90 each way for the first bag and $120 for the second, bars changes and cancellations, and earns miles only for travelers holding a United credit card or United elite status. 3

Marrakech rewards the Basic fare, and Malaga rewards the Regular one. On Marrakech, one checked bag brings Basic to $823 against $883 for Regular, so Basic stays $60 cheaper for the same bag. On Malaga, the bag brings Basic to $768 against $858, and the $90 difference is the price of choosing a seat. Availability on Marrakech is the thin part: United shows a few scattered January and February dates. 3 4

Three Asia fares, and which one earns miles

Cathay Pacific posted Penang at $843 on September 26 and Koh Samui at $850 on September 23, both in Q class through Hong Kong. Korean Air posted Ho Chi Minh City at $795 on September 25 in T class through Seoul. 5 8 9

The three differ more in what they earn than in what they cost. Korean Air's T-class fare credits 3,927 SkyMiles and $785 in Medallion Qualifying Dollars to Delta. Cathay's Q-class fare credits zero redeemable miles to Alaska and to American, so a traveler banking Atmos Rewards points gets nothing from the two Cathay routes. 5 8

Dates decide the rest. Koh Samui flies from mid-January through March, and Penang from mid-October and then January through early May. Ho Chi Minh City flies until late November, with a sample of November 6–13. Cathay permits two stopovers at $100 each on both of its fares, and US citizens need a visa arranged before arrival in Vietnam, which the e-visa system covers. 5 8 9

Oakland and San Jose, from the airlines' own route pages

Airlines announced no Oakland or San Jose promotion in the past seven days. The two entries for those airports are booking-engine snapshots from the airlines' own route pages, each showing fares collected within the past 24 hours, so treat them as leads to price rather than as promotions. 10 11

Southwest's Oakland–San Diego page shows $59 one way on six October dates, on November 19 and on three December dates, against a September floor of $129 on that same page. Southwest collects no change fee and asks only for the fare difference, and checked bags cost extra on a Basic fare. Two $59 one-ways make a $118 round trip, against $158 for the two Alaska Saver one-ways between San Jose and San Diego that this board carried on September 14. 10

Alaska's San Jose–Seattle page shows $79 one way in Saver on fifteen dates from mid-October through February, against a September floor of $384 on the same page. Saver is Alaska's most restrictive fare. Seats are assigned at check-in, changes are barred, a same-day confirmed change carries a fee, standby is unavailable, and a cancellation at least 14 days before departure returns a 50 percent credit. A carry-on and a personal item are included. 11 12

Points radar: three bonuses close Wednesday

Three transfer bonuses end on September 30. 6

Chase Ultimate Rewards to Air Canada Aeroplan, 20 percent. Aeroplan prices partner awards without carrier surcharges, which covers United and Swiss. 6
Rove Miles to Copa ConnectMiles, 40 percent. Copa flies through Panama City and ConnectMiles prices Star Alliance partner awards. 6
Capital One Miles to Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, 30 percent. Mileage Bank prices partner awards without fuel surcharges. 6

The September Flying Blue Promo Rewards catalog closes the same day. It lists Europe to San Francisco in premium economy at 30,000 miles on Air France and KLM, for travel through February 28, 2027. Promo Rewards now issue as Light fares, which carry no checked bag in economy or premium economy. 13

Two offers open in the first days of October. Bilt's Rent Day bonuses on October 1 run for that day alone, at up to 125 percent to Amtrak Guest Rewards and up to 200 percent to Hilton Honors. Southwest sells Rapid Rewards points at 40, 45 or 50 percent off through October 2, with a 3,000-point minimum; LoyaltyLobby values a Rapid Rewards point near 1.2 cents on a Wanna Get Away award, while the discounted purchase price at the 40 percent tier works out to 1.8 cents. Paying cash for a Southwest ticket costs less than buying the points for it. 6 14

Four bonuses run past the first week of October. Amex Membership Rewards to Hilton pays 30 percent through October 14, Chase Ultimate Rewards to Marriott Bonvoy pays 70 percent through October 15, and both Citi ThankYou to JAL Mileage Bank at 30 percent and Citi ThankYou to Avianca LifeMiles at 25 percent run through October 24. The Amex to Avios bonus that this board carried last week ended on September 27. 6

Book today in this order

Check the three points bonuses that close on Wednesday, September 30: Chase to Aeroplan at 20 percent, Rove to Copa at 40 percent and Capital One to JAL at 30 percent.
Price the SAS Norway pair. Buy Regular at $694 if you check a bag; stay on the $594 Light fare if a carry-on is enough and your dates are fixed.
Pick the Asia fare by date and by credit: Korean Air's Ho Chi Minh City fare earns Delta miles and SkyMiles, and Cathay's two Q-class fares earn none.
Weigh Malaga and Marrakech by fare family before adding a bag, since the bag decides which of the two fares wins on each route.
Book Oakland–San Diego at $59 if a short hop is on the calendar, and compare it with Alaska's San Jose–San Diego price.
Book the San Jose–Seattle Saver fare only against fixed plans, because changes are barred and a cancellation returns half a credit.
